My Brother and I decided to live in Hawaii for a month. We didn't know what would happen, what to expect or even if we would be able to go. We prayed about it and God opened the doors. The time we spent on the Big Island was truly magical and no video could even come close to describe the beauty and culture of that place. Be adventurous everyone. Take risks. We can now call Hawaii our second home and look forward to returning.
We were able to go to the island by doing a workaway program where we volunteered in exchange for place to stay. I would be happy to explain the program in more depth to you. Just comment below!
We want to give a special thanks to Johnny, Antoinette, and Luna for taking us in as family and giving us a home for the month we stayed there. cool video but dang this is my home and I've never jumped that fence and try not to record certain places like that since us locals don't out of respect. because visitors abuse it for us all. awesome shots but kinda frowned upon. when the gate is closed we don't go

Great Video. I was at the Big Island years ago. What an adventure! I would love to go back one day with my wife. She would love it! You guys are fearless! I did a lot of hiking but no cliff diving. I guess it's great to be young! I was once young and fearless as well. Oh well. I did hike about 20 miles last Friday here in Florida. Not bad for a 59 year old. I'm not dead yet!

This video is so freaking cool! I was on the Big Island for 8 days in 2015, but I didn't know at the time that I was going to be doing UA-cam so I didn't film much of anything from the trip.

Harley Eldridge hey! Yeah so basically this workaway program allows you to exchange volunteer work for a place to stay and meals. I heard about it from a friend and I tried it out and it was one of the best decisions of my life! The website is called workaway.info there you pay like $20 some dollars for a two year membership. And what that does is it give you access to email any host! And there are hosts all over the world. You can go from Paris to Africa to Australia. Almost anywhere I just chose Hawaii. Every host is different and has different jobs for you to do but you can read about it in their profile description on the site. We actually skyped the people we stayed with and they told us all we would be doing. We only worked 5 hours a day for only 5 days. And the rest of the time is free time for you to explore or do whatever! Hope it goes well for you buddy 👍🏼

We are headed to big island tomorrow, and I wanted to know where the cliffs you guys were jumping off of in the beginning were? Also the wide open space where the rainbow was in te field. Haha there was a pool y'all were jumping into at about 2:04 in and then after I watched it again, what was the waterfall with the rope swing at 1:49 ish in the video? And last thing and I will leave you alone! How hard/dangerous was white road? I've been dying to go slide! Shoots!
Italia Grosso haha your fine! The pools were behind rainbow falls. You just keep walking back further until you get to the pools. And the rope swing is called Anna's pond and that is in Waimea. White roads wasn't bad. It was a fun hike

Out of all the hawaiian islands...my absolute favorite is the Big Island. (Aka Hawaii island). Im originally from Oahu, but lived on the big island for 4 years. Much more peaceful, laid back, beautiful, and much much less crowded.
Fun facts
-all the other 7 islands of hawaii can fit on the big island. Oahu has roughly 1.3 million People on an island that is 7x smaller. Big island had about 175k. Go figure. Lol.
-it takes about 25-30 min to drive about 30 miles on the big island (1 mile per minute)....on oahu during peak traffic, it takes about 30 min+ to drive 1 mile!!!

How do you get to Anna’s pond? (the waterfall with the rope swing) Is there a way to look it up on Google Maps?
honestly it's been a few years since I've been to that pond so I cant remember. My best suggestion would be to ask a local while you're there. Best of luck!
How did you find other people to explore with and make friends while you were there
Just talk to people. Hawaiians/people who live there are very friendly and easy to connect with

Thanks man! and I didn't really do anything with companies or tours because I was on a budget but Here's a List of some amazing spots that we went to:
Hikes: Captain Cook trail, Waipio Valley,
Waterfalls: Anna's pond (theres a rope swing there too!), Rainbow Falls, Akaka falls
Cliff Jumping spots: End of the world (in Kona), South Point
Other awesome spots: Hidden waterslide in Jungle near Waipio (you will have to ask a local about how to get there. you have to go in a tunnel underneath the mountain for 20 minutes to find it), Mauna Kea Observatory, Green Sand beach (near South Point), Black Sand beach
