I have been really struggling to make a decision between the Gen3 Jimny and The Gen 4. I love the Gen 3 and can afford the Gen 3. This video gave me clarity that the Gen 3 is still capable and relevant. Thank you for this...All love from Gauteng.
JUST proved you dont need a v8. Africa looks amazing. Suzi was designed for down to earth practical people like you. no pretence. You would be quite at home in Australia . Thanks for your Vids. Cheers.
Hi guys, love your work! We were looking for a gen. 3 Jimny and were considering a number of options. This particular video of yours pushed us is the direction of one we were looking at with the Des Sol suspension kit fitted which we eventually bought. We absolutely love him! We have ended up with a bit of a Jimnothy clone but as they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery😉 Thanks for the great tips and advice and please keep the awesome videos coming 😀
Thanks Mike! We are so happy we could inspire your adventure with your own awesome Gen 3. We are still so thrilled with Jimnothy and knowing that he's got brother is even more awesome. We'd love to see him in the metal one day. Thanks again for reaching out 😊
I'm really enjoying your journey. Can't you do a more detailed vid on your packing setup? I think in one of the vids you talk about 4 ammo box setup, that really blew my mind.Would love to know how you manage that. Thanks for sharing your journeys, and keep on travelling safely!
Hi Gerrie! thanks so much for reaching out. We are busy making a setup video, that will show you all of these details. But for now what we did was quite easy. Box 1 - Kitchen (pots pans, cutlery etc) Box 2 - Pantry (dry food) Box 3 - Spares and utilities (4x4 gear, ropes, spare gas can Box 4 - Overflow (beers, firelighters and bread pot)
amazing video! now i have to find someone in austria who can make something as amazing as your upgrades with the table and the backdoor, thats pretty neat! amazing little car it is
Hey guys! Great video - thanks! I've just got myself a Jimny 2013 and can't wait to take it on trips across the UK and maybe down to Europe, but I was quite shocked at the fuel consumption! Had to fill up a good 2 or 3 times during a 300 mile journey - tank holds about 35litres? How did you guys tackle that across Africa? Did you take spare jerry cans?
Hey! It's strange that you had to fill up so often, you should be able to do about 250 miles per tank. In our travels we have averaged that and when we go further we do take 2 jerry's with us, which give us about 200km each (124 miles) - We highly recommend strengthening the roof-rack if you do that though. With the two Jerry's our total range is between 750km and 800km (460 miles) - Do you have the 1.3 litre engine?
I'm also from the UK (Scotland) I have a 2004 suzuki jimny. I usually get around 250 miles per tank going long-distance sticking between 55 and 60 mph. Also have a roof tent and looking at going somewhere abroad. Great wee cars 💯😅
Hey, it would have changed now with the new year +- 10k all together. Check out zombieoffroad.co.za/ and www.afriskyadventure.co.za/ for the latest prices and fitment
Thanks for the content guys! not sure if it was mentioned, but what year is your Jimny? I am in the market for one and with the new shape its really a hard decision wether or not to wait or go for the gen3. Just wanted to hear your thoughts?
Hi Jonathan, thanks very much. We have the face lifted 2016 gen 3 model. It’s great and suites our needs and budget. The gen4 has a lot of advantages including the traction control and a few little upgrades that make it better. However the gen3 is fantastic and we absolutely love it!

Hello,
Thank you for your videos. Where can we find the canvas multi-pocket storage that you put on the dashboard?
It's from Escape Gear. They have all sorts of covers for most brands of vehicles.
@Andrew A lekker review of the Jimny. Really a big fan of your channel. Keep up the good job!
Much appreciated!

So the Des sol lift kit gives height and strength?
Indeed, Ride hight is increased and combined with heavy duty off-road shocks from Gabriel
Nice jimny broo
Fantastic, how much did the suspension and track cost, roof net, table on the door cost ?

Yes it is, standard size for the Gen 3
Cool Video. I Noticed you also got EBC Greenstuff Pads..
Such good a good product. Love that they are green also 😊
How comfortable is the suspension on rough roads?
Its a hard ride, but still very good and with the right tyre pressure excellent
