I'm one of those loggers who likes to have something explained to him before I really mess things up. So I appreciate the video. I just recently switched from Husqvarna to Stihl and am loving it.
@@shanew7361 I have never used Echo but so far I have only heard good things about them. If that keeps up I may have to take a closer look at them some day.
I dig the full wrap handles I have a 461r and I was looking to put a wrap in the 462 thought I was gonna need a kit thanks for the video , btw I’m in the Midwest
As an east coaster I think you are right about that! I got a 500i with a wrap handle and don't have any use for it and it does get in the way. If you get a 500i with a standard handle we can swap.
Great video, really, I installed that wrap stuff on my 361, and what is obvious is that 90 degrees right side plastic connector looks pretty breakable 🙄
Thanks for the comment. I have another video where I accidentally ran over that saw with the tractor. The handle survived that so it may be stronger than it looks.
Was the part that fell out for one of the screws on the bar? I had the same thing fall off and am guessing that’s where it came from. But it still looks like a part is missing from that screw…
I don’t know. This was the only time I ever installed a handle on a saw so I am not in any way an expert on the subject. This was an OEM handle I ordered off eBay. I think there was compatibility with other saws I don’t remember what it was though.
it was a long time ago so I don’t remember that part. All the pieces got put in place. Maybe there was something that got edited out of the video on accident.
Our local Stihl dealer, Crater Chainsaw had several of them. It sounded like that was the only pro saws they had in stock. I am guessing because most people who want that class of saw want the 500i.
@@WilsonForestLands hmm weird. Ill have to ask. I thought those were euro spec. But I heard a rumor they were gunna start offering the. Stateside for the firefighters and forestry
Awesome saw & video buddy thanks again for your experience and knowledge 🧡 Love your taste in tools (STIHL)!!! 👌👍💪💪💪💪💪💪🌲🪵🌲🪵 Hope you have a very merry Christmas 🎄🎄

I switched back from Husky a few years ago. I had hard start problems with all of them. I am much happier with Stihl. Thanks for the comment.
I prefer Echo, always starts use non ethanol fuel.

This is what I have to do to my 462. I'm in the process of buying a wrap around Handle today. Thank you for making this Video.
Thank you for making this video, you saved me 20 bucks having the dealer install it!
the 462 is such an underrated saw.
"I would have explained what I was doing better but I didn't really know what I was doing" I felt that 💪💪🤣
Instead of hiding my ignorance I figured I might as well feature it.
Had fun watching you figure out the handle puzzle. Like I would do!😊
It’s good to know it’s not just me. 😁
Don't you just love it when you put something back together and find you have parts left over? Where did they come from? 🙂

Looking professional now buddy congrats on the new saw
Thank you. The saw looks professional, not so sure about that guy doing the video though.

Now I have an extra standard handle laying around. Too bad it probably doesn’t fit the 500i.
I’ll swap for full wrap
@@dogbonetc7623 I have switched out for the "normal" handle so I don't need to swap. I still have the full wrap.

It’s been so long since I did that video, I don’t remember.
Will the aftermarket wrap handle for the 46 , 460 or 44 work on a 462 ?

The beginning. Its plastic. Your fuel tank portion of the saw. The new ones are different than the older saws.
I wonder how long they will last compared to the older saws. My 044 has been going a very long time.

I always tell people with half wraps: Low stumps are for chumps
Haha I will have to remember that one.
Well...your entire audience wants to bother with that nonsense apparently...1:40 ha lol...
If only I could remember what it was I said at 1:40.
