Oh also, you should get a air quality monitor with wifi/phone alerts if this is an issue. Cheaper than respiratory infections and a lot less danger.

Hadn't thought of that. I do have an air purifier that has a 12 hour timer. If I had noticed the fire pit sooner I would have had it running to capture all that crud blowing in.

@@Justin.HeterodonHome Yeah I'm still surprised we don't have more connected tools with the reptiles. Like I shouldn't need to physically look at a screen to see humidity etc.

I know with what has been going on this isn't a priority, but with a double hose system it should NOT be dumping smoke into your space. Either the AC itself has a problem OR the window seal/tubs have a leak. Because the air between outside and inside should basically be 100% separated as that's the entire point of a dual hose system.
If you went to a single hose system it would make the room a sort of positive airflow situation where air would be expelled out the window and pulled from the rest of your house. Downside is it wouldn't be true cooling so much as making one part of your house hotter with external air. But it might prevent this at least.

I think it's because the extending panel that the hoses connect to has gaps on the top and bottom of the left side. I've done my best to plug them with foam but it's not perfect.
When the wind blows particularly hard I can definitely feel a draft.

@@Justin.HeterodonHome Use caulk or spray foam. Silicon caulk though is great because it seals well and is trivial to clean up/remove as needed.

Is Savannah a dominant/recessive/co-dom trait? What are the characteristics? I can't really find anything online. She looks like a lighter normal to me.
Again, you should consider down-sizing your collection. You seem to be negative/stressed; or have something going wrong in every video of your's that I have watched.
The continued toll on your emotions, health, and animals is not worth it.

According to its creator, Filip Longhitano, Savannah is a recessive trait that he swears is proven genetic. I'm not so sure myself, which is why I called it a "line" in the video. It would be pretty cool if it was genetic though.
As for what the characteristics are, I couldn't say specifically other than what I've noticed with the head pattern and belly. The head tends to be low contrast and lacks a lot of color saturation, but the usual white lacing is very emphasized. The belly is dull with purple and sand colored scales. Kevin Rodes actually mentioned that it looks very similar to True Hypo on the belly, and Filip did mention it being another form of True Hypo that isn't compatible with the other.
Regarding everything else, there are always challenges. I could just not show what goes wrong like most other breeders, but that's not how I wanted to roll when I made the channel. I'd like people to see that not everything goes perfectly. It is a downer, but it's real. Success or failure, it's all going to be shown.
All that being said, I will probably start downsizing, but not with the snakes. I think part of the problem I've had for a long while is needing to switch gears when taking care of different species. The geckos probably would be better served elsewhere. Although, I would miss Erenyn.

@@Justin.HeterodonHome I appreciate your honesty and willingness to show the difficult times. Although my channel is small and my video skills are lacking, I am also trying to be honest about my mistakes/failures/challenges. I hope that by being honest and open, someone else can avoid the same pitfalls.
You really should reduce the total number of animals you have, unless you are trying to turn this into your full-time job. Joe @ Hoggin Out has 3 breeding females and produced 60+ eggs this season. I myself only have 6 animals, and it can be a lot to maintain them sometimes with work, home, relationship, etc.
Again, I think this will help you reduce your emotional and mental stress; and your animals will be better provided for/healthier.
I've adapted/changed my plans several times since December when I got my first snake. Staying the course, when the road is bad/difficult is not always the best option.
Again, best of luck....but ask yourself; why am I doing this? Does it bring me more joy than sorrow? Am I doing what is best for my animals?

@@MedusaHerps My guy, I think you have good intentions, but if someone says they don't want to downsize, you need to let it go. Not everything bad that happens is because people have too many animals, sometimes it is just bad luck, and pushing it at this point is not helpful, it is being bossy to someone you literally do not know, like you know what it is best for them, when you only see a tiny fraction of this guy's life.

@@ss.surprise There is no such thing as bad luck. Coccidia, 1 Animal dying each season due to egg binding, 7/15 eggs hatching from Lady in 2023 due to fungus, Chronic Repeating Respiratory Infection, Unidentified Lump/Cyst on an animal....and yet he spent over $1000 on a Lemon Ghost within the last couple months because "it's a high demand morph".
His heart may be in the right place, but his head is not. It's about the welfare of the animals, not giving orders. I stopped keeping snakes 25 years ago because I didn't feel like I could care for them in the way they deserved. No stress, no depression, no remorse.
Alys is not the first snake to die in his care and will not be the last.
I'm unsubscribing. You can stick around to watch the train wreck.

@MedusaHerps I have had to sit down before and ask myself if there is more sorrow than joy while raising these beautiful snakes. I've come to the conclusion that there is more joy than sorrow, even if it is painful when things go wrong.
I originally started keeping them to help me deal with emotional stresses that I can't really express easily. It was really just something to keep me busy. I didn't expect them to be as interactive and hands-on as they turned out to be. It honestly brought me extreme joy to see them every morning and have them come out to greet me in return. It's because of how emotionally calming I found them to be that I decided to start breeding in 2019. My dream is to actually sell on the low-end with just a few high-end animals to make the effort worth it.
As sad as losing both of my favorite snakes has been, I still thank God that I had the opportunity to care for them and for the immense joy they gave me while they were alive. Passing on is just part of life. It just takes me more time than others to accept that.
