I like how he's just chilling on your shoulder while you clean his enclosure it's soo cute ❤
I know bless him! He's a good boy. He can run around if he wanted but loves a good sholder sit!
Wow he is a beautiful dragon.❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! He's a good boy! ❤
The knife 😂😂😂😂
Haha! It's a good one isn't it! 😂
Great video and Larry is amazing 👍
Thank you so much! :)
2:57 Larry just shows in this way that he is the king and the boss here.
He was trying to ride you.
Haha! Literally! He was just making sure he was still in charge!
I recommend getting those bulb cages! I have them in mine for my skink and gecko and it does negate the burn! It's safer for the reptiles too since the basking spot might be too hot :) I personally use Cork, 3 hides and arcadia arid substrate for my skink though :) 9 months old atm
I was going to get a bulb cage just to make sure, but luckily he can't reach the bulb and can't get too close to it! :) When he was little he used to hide under the log arch now and again, but he just prefers watching out the glass now seeing what's going on. Haha! He doesn't use hides now, prefers to be nosy.
Aww I'd like a skink too, they're so good!
@@Beeb1upVlogs Careful, the bites hurt LOL. they do get a bit bigger and are longer than beardies so make sure you can identify the species :) If you go for a fire skink just know they arent as handleable as something like a blue tongue. Mines a BTS and they're such sweethearts.
@@Jormungandrr69 Yea I bet! If I were to get one, as pretty as fire skinks are, I think I'd go for a blue tongue skink too! I'm trying to be good and not buy anymore pets at the moment though, but it's hard!
He's so cute ^^
What alarm do you use for his home?
Hey! Thank you! I use the Habistat digital dimming thermostat with timer. It's so handy as it has a timer that turns the bulbs off and on when I want them too, plus also regulates the temperature and alarms if the temperate has dropped too.
You have a tortoise too 😮❤❤❤❤I love tortoise and my best friend have bradet dragon and I have tortoise ❤❤❤
I do! I have a Hermanns Tortoise called Ernie! Aww that's awesome!
@Beeb1upVlogs I don't have a name for both ganders but boy name was Sheldon and girl Sammy 🥰🥰🥰🥰you're so kind
Did you build your enclosure or purchase it from somewhere? I’d like to have a similar one for my beardie. He’s only 4 months old right now, so the 40 gallon is okay for now, but I definitely want a much larger one in next few months.
Hey! I purchaced the vivarium as a flat pack, and built it up and done in insides myself. This is a large 4ft Vivexotic Vivarium I bought from online, then the insides I bought all seperatly from a reptile shop.
What sand do you use? I’ve just bought calci sand for my Viv as getting a beardy this week but when I’ve read reviews apparently it’s really bad for them 🥺
Hello! I normally use Pets at Home's Reptile Substrate Desert Sand. Yes you're right, you do need to be careful with sand! If the beardie happens to eat too much of it they can become impacted, but as long as the beardie isn't eating a load of it it's all good! I always think beardies natural habitat is deserts, subtropical woodlands, savannas, all pretty sandy anyway! Bearded Dragon's substrates online when searching it up is literally all over the place, haha! Just keep an eye on them to begin with to see what they're like with sand. Not long until you get your Beardie then! Exciting!
DO NOT use calci sand at all!!!!!! Not to mention overdose of calcium!!!!! Use regular arcadia range calcium to supply calcium
I just bought a 120gal tank. How much sand should you put in the cage? I've heard various opinions. Also, how often do you clean his cage? I'm getting my Beardy this week.
YEY new beardie! Bet you can't wait!
This vivarium is about 4ft x 2ft, and 2x 5KG bags of sand is enough, mines about half an inch deep I'd say. If you're using sand, just remember to make sure the beardie isn't eating any of it!
I spot clean it every day if need be, just clear up any mess or poo that he's made, but mine makes such a mess and often runs his veg everywhere and splashes his water about, so if it looks clean no need! A full clean and disinfect is usually every 1 or 2 months, but again does depend on what the beardie is like.
@@Beeb1upVlogs Yay, I know right. I've been researching for the last 2 months lol. That's part of what made me skeptical about the sand because I don't want him to eat it but I guess you won't know until you find out. You made cleaning it look so effortless lol.
Thank you for your reply. I've definitely subscribed to your channel. I may ask more questions as we move along.
You want to make sure if your using sand it's free of any dye, I use the exo terra dessert sand, using sand will also allow your bearded to burrow adding enrichment.
@@frostbite900not entirely true there. Any soil would give digging and burrowing enrichment. I use topsoil and play sand mix for my reptiles
You are me
Gotta love Beardies! And any animal to be fair!
Does sand help with poop smell? I don’t have sand and I have to clean mines poop up right away or else my whole house will stink!
I guess it does a little but not much! The sand does soak it up a little so will mask it a bit, but as it's not designed for that it doesn't work well if you know what I mean. After Larry has done a poo, he often runs around like a mental trying to escape it, and because of that he unintentially covers the poo in his sand, which does help with the smell a bit! But if it's just left ontop the sand doesn't effect it at all. I feel you, they can do some insane stinkers can't they! HAHA!
Can beardies be in a 40 gallon tank?
It depends on the width and depth, I don't know gallons very well! My viv is a 4ft one, which is recommended for a Beardie (or bigger!) because they do get fairly big!
40 gallon works to a point but they recommend 80 gallon minimum by adulthood. 4ftx2ftx generally. For most lizards the tank should be twice as long as the lizard is and they can get close to 2ft full grown
As a temporary home for a baby until it outgrows it? yes. But for an adult to spend it’s whole life in it would be considered cruel. 40 gallons is a long outdated minimum. A 4x2x2ft or a 120 gallon is the absolute bare minimum and even that is becoming outdated as people are now pushing for 6x2x2ft or 6x2x3ft for minimum standard. Bearded dragons get fairly big, pushing 2 feet in length fully grown and are very active lizards so they need a huge space to run around and climb, a 40 gallon or 3 foot x 45cm of space is too cramped for them. If you want a species that can fit in a 40 gallon a leopard gecko is a better option.
I’d be a little bit worried about putting fake plants in the enclosure, just in case the beardy eats it.
He's all good! He doesn't eat the fake plants. Although I have been tempted to try some real beardie friendly plants in the viv, but then I'm sure he'll eat them!
Title says bathing but no Beeb in the bath..........0/10
HAHAHA! Of course you'd say that, Cassini! ;)
