Omg using a bin bag was so funny, you’re so real Louise. I’ve honestly never heard of cooking these snacks before but I love it! Thanks as always. x

Omg, that looks so good, we don’t do anything like that here. I’m definitely going to try this for the Christmas period. The cereal looks like our shreddies cereal and I can get little pretzels and little cheese biscuits and, obviously, the nuts. I think this will go down a storm, can’t wait to try it 😆 ❤❤

I make this every year at Christmas, I love to add mini M&M's to it after it's done, that sweet and salty combination is so good

Perfect! Thank you :) I had bought all the ingredients to make this a month or two ago, but dreaded the 2-3 hour drying/baking time of it. I have the ninja duo basket fryer, soooo glad you gave some helpful tips on making this in there as well! I will definitely have this on my to-do list this coming week!! (Go to work soon, so nope cant do it today, durn it!!)

Sounds great! If you have time, let me know how long each batch takes in the dual. I didn't test it in there.

Original recipe I have calls for up to 40 minutes in 250° oven, stirring every 10 minutes. Not sure why other recipes call for 2 hours. Maybe amount of ingredients?

Interesting ❤ never thought about using Airfryer for my “Trash” mix…that’s what my mama always called it …my grandkids ask for this every year & my adult friends too, so I make huge batches in my turkey roaster pan…but…like you said, it takes at least 2 hours to get it right…I’ll be heading over to your website for your recipe ….i only like the skinny pretzel sticks & can only find them at Walmart…I like Crispex cereal & I use mixed nuts but always add extra pecans & cashews…
    Thanks for sharing…hate I missed the “live”…❤❤

I hope you find it just as easy as I did to make it in the air fryer!

Chex mix can be done in a microwave also. I usually use one type for Chex cereal as I hated having three boxes to use up. I’ve seen Chex sold with all three types in one box. Walmart sometimes has a package of the season mix for free but it is hard to find. I’ve never put in oil or hot sauce.

Wow! You’re my hero Louise. Are you using your 8 or 6.5 qt Foodi for this??

Lightly salted and the peanuts were Virginia peanuts, not dry roasted.

Hi, has anyone in the UK tried this recipe ? If so what alternative cereals did you use ? 😀

I'm going to add Praline Peanuts, I'm a sugar kind of girl.

I know you said that as long as we have 7 cups of the cereal, we'd be fine. When you told us what you were using, it totaled 8 cups (3 c. Corn Chex, 2 c. Wheat Chex & 3 c. Rice Chex - that equals 8 cups), but you referred a couple of times to the amount that you were using as being what was needed for the amounts of the spices that you gave to us. I'm guessing that when you said 7 cups, you misspoke & you meant 8 cups. Is that correct (just so I don't make adjustments unnecessarily)? Thanks, in advance, for answering this!

This is the comment I came here for. Honestly, I don't think it matters except for the total cups at the end. We use bagel bites and Bugles too

But we don't use any nuts. Pine nuts might be good

Yes, I made a mistake. I didn't catch it during the review process. Hopefully it won't cause any issues for people, but honestly I doubt 1 cup will make a big difference in the seasoning and overall result.

Please try this.... Really makes recipe better... Instead of the oil you suggest, use BACON grease. Results are outstanding.... this is a secret, so don’t tell anyone :)
