Just bought myself a GP Laureato 42mm black ceramic and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Wear super comfortable and is just so stunning. And the pre-owned price is crazy low these days.
Listening to Tim described the differences of choice between a Speedmaster and a patek perpetual calendar. Vintage is more than entertaining. Thank you Tim.
*love* the Sea Q panorama date, but it’s huge. The smaller 39.5mm Sea Q is perfect, but it’s a gutted money-grab: different movement, no panorama date, closed caseback, and a meager 40 hour power reserve. Why, GO, why 🤦🏻♂️
Great show Tim! Awesome topic and analysis. Yeah Blancpain wants $300 to send my watch to Secaucus for a water testing and "cleaning". They used to test for free at Boutique in NYC. It's a Léman btw.
That's just weird. Blancpain is high luxury, and for that kind of money, a water test and (local!) shipping should be free. Service is one thing, but asking $300 for a water test is like charging for the perfunctory car wash after dealer service on your car. Best, Tim
@@the1916company I'm just bringing it in for an annual summer water test. Late last year they moved out their in-house (NYC Boutique) watchmaker. Really disappointing.
Tim, brilliant as always. Of course the Duometre is a great call out, really like the new steel blue dial version. Does Zenith make any vertical clutch chronographs? Really enjoy having continual action on the dial but that seems hard to find in their catalogue. Thanks as always! Cheers.
I appreciate your support. I'm always amazed by the quality of our audience both live and on-demand. It's rare that I have to remove any comments, block any users, or moderate a discussion. We may not have the largest audience in the YT watch space, but we've got the best. Best, Tim
@@the1916companywatchreviews Hi Tim, as I’m sure you’re aware in the UA-cam world, audience size is almost always inversely proportional to quality. The masses chase the quick thrills. You’re an asset to T1916C. All the best, Ed P.S. Enjoying your contribution to Q&P
Tim, I love the passion, fire, and enthusiasm you brought to tonight’s episode. To keep up the intensity maybe do the program every 2 weeks? Up to you, but thanks for focusing on us value collectors!
Thank you Danny! I'm ready to rock on a weekly basis, so no problem there. Every once in a while, I miss a week for personal or holiday reasons. Best, Tim
Great show as always. I live in London. Everyone calls the clock Tower, housing the clock and bell, Big Ben, even though it's technically just the name of the bell. The other main mistake are people calling Tower bridge, 'London bridge'.
Tim, do you think the Chrono Sport was well-received at Rolex because their CEO previously helmed Zenith? I love the Chrono Sport, especially the new titanium version.
All prices across the board have increased. It's the new normal. Even mid range like Tudor are creeping closer to OP prices. Jlc, Iwc, Rolex, Bvlgari, Chopard etc are going up almost 1k cad per year last 3 years Iwc ingeniur is still running 4k CAD cheaper than Piaget polo, GP laurriato, Chopard Alpine eagle and Bvlgari octo
True. We sell both new and used watches these days, but preowned is sorta where my heart is. It's where I started with WuW a decade ago, and I still think used is the best route for value. Best, Tim
You have in the past been a great advocate for the Carl f. Bucherer ScubaTec. How do you stack it up to the Pelagos or the GO Sq?

That's an incredible watch that's equal to the best. Put an AP badge on the dial, and I can't imagine what it would cost.
Best,
Tim

I try to offer value for the live audience. If I don't interact with the real-time viewers, then why even do this in a live format?

Great show! Anyone knows who makes an A.Lange & Sohn Odysseus homage:?

Blancpain NYC Boutique charged me $675 to purchase and install one new link on my X71.
Unless it’s a L.U.C. 1.96, nobody cares about Chopard and they aren’t dropping 25k on it.
Fair? Maybe not.
@@michaeljordan6008 did they have to send the watch to New Jersey for the link install?

Great video Tim! Fully agree with you about Moritz Grossman. Definitively one of the hidden jewels in high horology!! Best, Amintas
Great content as always Tim, you never fail to impress
Didn't do the Unbound Gravel - but off to Innusbruk in a couple days to race the Tour de Transalp!

All great suggestions!
All from the heart, too. I usually talk about watches I enjoy or admire in some way.

This was a great show. You are the best!
I wish that Breguet didn't have that "10HZ" on the dial.
yes and a especially in red...poor decision there. many times less is more.
9:38 dial looks smaller
Great Show Tim!
Much appreciated.

I like to guess the rock t shirt under the jacket, stumped this time, Accept?
“Wet, Sweaty or Gloved” always sounds to me like a Spinal Tap album.

What is the best price to pay for these watches in 2024?
Tungsten is so hard you can't mark it by biting it like gold.
Mr angry tonight? What’s up..chill..✌️
Why can’t Tim say anything about Rolex?
"what's in the box"
What happened to watch Xbox??
Consolidated a bunch of branches and renamed to 1916.
