Just found your channel and I’m loving it so much. Your Mexican orange blossom is magnificent. I took cuttings from my nans garden, she passed away last year. I drove 5 hours just to collect her plastic empty pots and try and take cuttings from her garden. I had no idea what that plant was and now I know! I don’t think the cuttings with take as I wasn’t sure how to take them from her plants. She had a camellia in full bloom. The orange blossom you have. I think possibly a rhododendron and a hydrangea. Other things too. Your garden reminds me off my nans, hers was only small but beautiful garden. Your garden is just outstanding, do you open it to the public? I’m in South Wales. It’s so full of colour. I love how you show the plants tiny and then when growing months later. It has helped me identify seeds I grew and the writing had worn off the stick I’d labelled them with. Thank you for sharing your stunning garden with us, its a dream to watch

Hi Paul, I tried to send you links of plants , obviously it was blocked. Have you had daphne odorata " marginata' ( love this variety), Sweet Pera vine, Ornamental ginger plant, Heliotrope ( smells like vanilla). Daphne is prized for its amazing fragrance ( you would never forget once you have it!)and it blooms during later winter/early spring when most of the plants are just about to begin their growth!! In my area, San Francisco, spring is nearly eternal, I started sweet pea bedding plants in winter, spring and summer. Enjoy immensely its spicy fragrance till late fall!!
Hi Kim, Yes, I think UA-cam blocks links. That's interesting you mention daphne. I actually bought one last year, but for some reason it is struggling so I am going to move it as I really want it to do well - I want to experience its famous scent! Thank you for that suggestion. That's a great growing climate you have over on the West Coast.
Good afternoon Paul - here is morning foggy, dripping wet, plants love it and I love it too! If I remember correctly, Daphne can be precarious , it can die on you for no apparent reason! From my observation over the years, it is quite hardy once established. Iyt can withstand neglect, drought tolerant, as we don't have rain during growing season, at least nine months. Wish you good luck!
Goodness me, your garden is a masterpiece! I have only one rhododendron (azalea?) which looks so bad that I wouldn't dare to show it in public; to be honest, I might have to get rid of it sooner or later. My over 130 roses are going to flower a little bit later than yours; right now I am waiting for rain and getting more and more desperate by the minute. My garden is turning into a desert.
So nice of you - thank you. Your 130 roses will be spectacular when all in flower - hope you video them. Sorry about your lack of rain - there has been just one good heavy downpour in my garden over the last month or two - so it’s very dry again. There is plenty of rain in other parts of Britain - just not here!
I didn't realize the difference with deciduous azaleas having fragrance compared to evergreen varieties. Unfortunately the new deciduous azalea I planted last year didn't flower this spring so I'll have to wait until next year.
Sorry your deciduous azaleas didn’t flower - same as one of mine. Make sure they have plenty of water in the height of Summer so they get the idea for next year - will be very special when they do flower.
Lilac are very prolific at suckers! I try to put something on the borders each year. I’m using more bark mulch now which will decompose over a couple of years.
I just realized you are in zone 9a like I am here in Texas. I wonder if it’s the same where you are at. Anyway, your videos have become my latest addiction.
I am delighted you are enjoying my videos and garden. Yes, I am in zone 9a - that means I have about the same level of frosts as you but your Spring and Summer temperatures are much, much higher than mine.
@@paultsworld yes that makes sense because some of the plants you have that I can only dream of having in my garden would absolutely fry like an egg even in the shade during the summertime.

Hello Kim - that is great weather for plants! Thanks for the advice on daphne, I may need the luck.
Your Choisya is beautiful. I can't get mine to flower which is really disappointing.
Mine took a few years to flower - now it flowers every year, so hopefully yours will start next year.
@@paultsworld Ahh, thank you very much. Mine has only been in the garden for 2 years.
Fingers crossed.
Absolutely gorgeous azaleas. I did not know lilacs can send out suckers. Do you apply compost to the garden, if so how often?
Lilac are very prolific at suckers!
I try to put something on the borders each year. I’m using more bark mulch now which will decompose over a couple of years.
Wow 😲
🌻👍
I just realized you are in zone 9a like I am here in Texas. I wonder if it’s the same where you are at. Anyway, your videos have become my latest addiction.
I am delighted you are enjoying my videos and garden.
Yes, I am in zone 9a - that means I have about the same level of frosts as you but your Spring and Summer temperatures are much, much higher than mine.
@@paultsworld yes that makes sense because some of the plants you have that I can only dream of having in my garden would absolutely fry like an egg even in the shade during the summertime.
That’s right - it’s very temperate here - no extremes. However I would like the Summers to be a little warmer 🤞
Hi, beautiful garden. What is the ph of your soil?
Thank you. I would say it is just on the acidic side of neutral.
Eden eden eden eden eden bravo super beautiful man Paul! Bravo! 10 10 10! România zona 5. You? Zona? Rododendron azalea? Zona?
Thank you!

Thank you for watching.
I need frgrance in January in Trinidad in my garden what could I use
What an interesting question! I don’t know tropical plants very well but what about Jasmine? How about Angels Trumpet? They both have lovely scent.
Me gustaría que los videos tuvieras subtítulos en español, para entender lo que explica.
Lo entiendo - voy a ver lo que puedo hacer.

🌻👍
I had no idea that azaleas can be fragrant!
I was also surprised when I first saw deciduous azaleas and how nicely they scented.
😇🤩🤗😍🥴👍
Thank you!
