It is. Sometimes I forget when I look up at a grove of towering Roystonea olercea palm trees that I have known them from a few tiny seeds lying scattered on the mossy ground of a damp park in Singapore after a heavy tropical rain. They do become so much a part of you. However rather suddenly they're these things all in their own right that leave you in so much awe your part in it all seems rather insignificant to be honest. What can be grown out of small zip lock bags filled with tiny seed collected around the world can be truly astounding. The miracle of a seed, yes.
I’ve always wished Arthur had a UA-cam channel so I could see around his garden, so glad I came across this video! If anyone hasn’t read his books go buy them - you won’t regret it.
I've got them all and wish too that he had a channel..we could all learn lessons about how he cares for the environment and how to plant in a small space to help pollinators
I love every video produced on this channel. Captures the warmth and sensitivity of each designer and their passion for their work. Arthur is as charming as his garden.
I am moving from a 2000 m2 garden, an inner courtyard and an outer courtyard, all planted, fruit trees, climbing roses, figs, lavendar etc and into a smaller houser with an innder courtyard and 4m2 of earth ! I have just dug up my peonies and a recent vine and next will be a rose and jasmin as the house will remain empty once I leave. I have plans to extend the planting area and have already some big olive trees in pots and a silver birch. I potted up the fig tree and pomegranit tree as the base structure of the planting but first have to build up the planting area to a good height otherwise my little terriers will have a field day ! I know that I will miss my garden but I love a challenge and there are plenty of green spaces to walk the dogs despite moving into a townhouse. Arthur is such an inspiration.
Loved Arthur's enthusiasm and care for this beautiful little garden. The interior is beautiful as well. Perhaps you can do a short video of the interior in the future?
I especially like that he cares for the environment, bees etc., as seen in his favourite dahlias, the lovely ivy etc. Ivy is great for insect and bird life indeed. And it is pretty.
A real home, complete with the must have washing line. It is lovely that they really appreciate the age and original character of the property. My heart aches when people comletely modernise and destroy an older property. Especially given the fact that there are a lot more modern properties available, it's so destructive to depreciate irreplaceable history and beauty.
I adore this garden and his love for it, too. The sweetpeas are so happy and huge and the rest are all my favorites, foxglove, roses even an artichoke! I'm wondering where is the peony, there must be a peony, right? Lovely, lovely!
This video is the definition of CHARM, everything about this garden both the sun and shade is inviting! Would be lucky to have a fraction of the beauty of this space.
@@princebuster93 This is in France although I am British I live in south west France. I am sure that you can find it everywhere as they use it for 'hempcrete' which is a form of lightweight more eco friendly concrete with hemp as the filler.
Everything about this home screamed taste. A great deal of thought has been put into every single thing both inside and outside. No naff pvc windows for them, but hand crafted windows and doors. What a beautiful life.
Enchanting! Thank you so much for inviting us in. Wonderful for me that you explained your process for growing sweet peas! Learned what I'm doing wrong and will surely have a healthy bed of the dainties next year!
A truly beautiful garden, in the Cotswolds no doubt. Such an absolute dream. I appreciate all the work that goes into the garden, and of course the beauty also. The entranceway and the house are equally stunning. Gosh I’m in love. 🌸🪴
Thanks for adding in how you water. I was wondering if had some type of irrigation. I know pots need watering daily, if not twice in the Summertime heat! Lovely home. Love the Sweet Peas in the vase! I need to plant some. I've thought about it, this confirmed it! Thanks for sharing 👍
Well said Arthur. I am literally the plants I grow. I eat them so I know them and they know me. We are biologically connected. There genes run in my blood, they maintain and rebuild me, we resow and the off spring of plants I have eaten already know me before they germinate When the break the soil it's like looking at an old friend. They grow well because they know my intention. They understand me and are happy that I spend time with them, that I am interested Lovely space thanks for sharing
I love all his plants. I wish I had some seeds of the cotswald and the ones that are long with one single flower that looks looks like pouf. So beautiful
the garden is charming and warm, and his knowledge is intriguing and captivating. he knows an abundance of things but speaks in a way where I want to go research all that he shared and get my hands to work. this was shot so beautifully and it is all so dreamy!
🌼🌻🐝☀️🌺👨🌾 I love your garden!! Such a great inspiration to me as I am just also a gardener and UA-cam creator. I can see you put a lot of work and love into growing! All the hard work is worth it to me to get to see the new growth everyday it brings me so much joy! I still have so much to learn and I appreciate your tips, tricks! Keep sharing! I hope we can learn more about gardening from each other.
Hello Arthur, A big thumb up to your creative idea and aesthetic taste! An intensive planting in a small area with much love and experience. Thank you for sharing this beautiful garden. Greeting from San Francisco
I love the tribute to you mom. I learned my love of garden and nature from mine as well. ❤️. What a warm, beautiful space you have created. I have watched it twice now! I am going to try increasing the compost under my sweet peas to see if I can improve my success. Thank you for the tour and information.
Thank you for sharing your lovely garden with us, and educating us, as well. Your passion and knowledge really helps us to share your enthusiasm. Love everything about your lovely space, and the beautiful way it was all explained. Very inspiring! Thank you! 🌺🌼🌸
Many people water at dusk because they are in a tearing rush in the morning to start work, but actually watering in the morning is far superior, before the sun is strong, if you water at night the dampness does not dry off as it does if you do so in the morning, and it encourages mildew.
So much inspiration, especially growing in pots. Absolutely beautiful ~ thank you for sharing. (Ps envious of your sweetpeas, mine are a embarrassment).
"...a plant that you've known from seed..." What a beautiful way of expressing his love for his garden!

you may already know this but the website does have lots of lovely interior pics! though I would also welcome a video
I would love to see the interior of this home, if possible. The chair and rug are perfection, imo.
I agree, I fell for the blue upholstered sofa frim the first frame!

Flowers, books, photographs and good lamps is all any room needs to instantly look chic and feel wonderful.

Clothesline at the end. Brilliant
I absolutely love this ... I've watched it over and over!! Love the common sense approach. ❤👍🇬🇧
Thirty seconds a pot. I admire his commitment to that. My bald head would need some shade to sit at that lovely table. The ferns are gorgeous.
Love this haha. You make sure you have a good hat this summer

I use crushed hemp straw mulch around my plants for slugs, I do have to renew it often but it's even nice to look at, make the ground seem clean.
@ The Fiown, hi there, where do you purchase the hemp straw ?? Many thanks 🙂
@@princebuster93 I bought several bales in my local country shop that sells plants and animal feed. It's quite cheap and is sold very compacted.
@@TheFiown ok, thanks, is that in the UK ??
