Let us take a moment to reflect on Barristan Selmy. Dude was in his mid 60s and killed over a dozen men single handily before he went down. Imagine if he were in prime still. I’ve got nothing but respect for him.
If he was in his prime he'd have cleared the room. And him and Grey Worm would have killed every Harpy on the block.
Badaxx to the end. No way he would have gone down if it wasn't in a filthy trap set by a team of masked cowards. Which is infuriating.
In the books he’s still alive. This scene killed me because I did not see it coming. The show runners had changed things before from the book plot but this one broke me- he’s one of my definite faves. Besides the fact he’s the only one who could tell Dany what her father and brother were really like without having a perceived hidden agenda.
As Barristan said when he was kicked off the Kingsguard: he was a knight, and he died a knight.
It makes me so pissed they killed him off. In the books, Baristan begins to start having a great purpose. GRRM even warns the showrunners NOT to kill him. Season 5 was just a big "since we're working off book at this point, let's stir in a lot of shit!"
"Even now I could cut through the five of you like carving a cake!" - Ser Barristan, the badass. Took down like ten Sons of the Harpy.
The harpies were fortunate that they encountered Sir Barristan in his golden years rather than his prime. I use the term "fortunate" loosely, as he still wipes the floor with most of them.
Probably more than ten. We didn't see any more Hapries pouring in so I assume Barrisatn have taken care of the people outside as well.
16*
Fuck the sons of the herpies
ten? he took out more like TWENTY.
"She's your daughter not your niece." She's still his sister's daughter, so she's technically both. :)

Poor Tommen. He grew up with a cruel brother he didn't want to become and the last words Tywin gave were to seek council until he comes of age. He didn't have the right guiding hand. He isn't weak, he's vulnerable.
He's the only Lannister who had pure soul. Under right guidance, he would have been perfect king.
@@PallaviSingh-ot2mf You kind of forgot about Myrcella...
@@maximelover3314 oh ya..myrcella too.
Tyrion as well alongside Genna Lannister, Tywin’s younger sister.
Him being vulnerable is the reason I hate Margery. She straight up groomed the boy. If the genders were reversed people would be just as disgusted as they were with Sansa and Littlefinger's "romantic" scenes.
Margery has a cunning side to her. She knows how to get what she wants and what she needs. For her and her family. She knows what to do and what to say. But she doesn't harm others to do it. She's smart, but she is actually a very kind and good person. I love her, she's one of my top fave characters.
I wouldn’t call Margaery a good person because she is very manipulative and a bit selfish in wanting to be queen. But she does have a genuine good heart and sympathy for certain people.
She loves her family deeply and I believe she genuinely liked Sansa back in season 3. I also think she has genuine affection for Tommen but a little frustrated with him because of his timidness. But she probably still likes him well enough because of his kindness and innocence he has.
How the game is meant to be played. With class and politeness. Even if you're beating the opponent ,be polite. Cers has that down. But the biggest thing is to always be classy, don't do cruel shit
She literally groomed a child. If the genders were reversed here she'd be a creep.
Every person who ever watched this show says the same regarding the scene with Tommen in front of the Sept:
Joffrey would not have stood for these relegious zealots
No. He would have tucked in his tail, send the Hound to kill someone and caused a civil war. Much better :)
He would have said " I AM THE KING " then something like kill them all
wish Joffrey was still alive instead of Tommen. he’d kill them all at it’d be so satisfying to watch. hells I’d even grow to like Joffrey lol
Most importantly, Tywin would not have stood for the religious zealots. If Tyrion didn't kill Tywin (though I don't blame him) the kingdom under King Tommen would have been in less chaos.
Religious* and they are anything But religious , that misconception is global and I hate it ! Abusing a guide line is not fault of the book or the guidelines it's the fault of whoever is abusing it's name and goal to benefit themselves and their agendas .
The Warg who was pissed off that Ygrette liked Jon was also in Pirates of the Caribbean. He was the guy with the glass eye
I believe the eye is made of wood, not glass.
It does splinter somethin' terrible...
In the back of my mind I knew he looked familiar.
Holy shit
@DGraySon77 Oh yeaaahh! He was british Dwight!
Sansa still thinks Theon killed her 2 little brothers
Tri Scorp Yep, you're right, that's the last thing she heard, of course she hates him.
oh yah
Stannis Baratheon, father of the year!! I never realised how many horses die in Got, before watching you. 😂😂
Was thinking the same thing...BOTH things, actually.
Stannis doesn't deserve that beautiful child.
KCohere33 sounds like someone needs to read the books.
Father of the year.... I just can't... I can't.... sigh...
It's a hard knock life for horses on GOT
I really love scenes that show different sides of characters, like Tywin being fatherly with Arya, Jamie in the tub revealing his past to Brienne, and here Stannis wearing his heart on his sleeve for Shireen. It's what makes GoT such a layered show worthy of repeat viewings.
Littlefinger really is the best player of the Game yet, showing you don't need an army, or even be good with a sword, to play the Game of Thrones.
Definitely!
Well it does help to have a army XD
Chaos is wonderful when you have 100 enemies that you can pin against each other without anyone knowing. Then you kill the one's that know or suspect. But when there are only a few left, that strategy wont work anymore. That's when you need order in the form of a bigass army & very good generals.
If he was the best player he'd not of been killed by Arya
But hey the north remembers
@@daveloyer3042 he was the best at normal politics. Brann's supernatural powers on the other hand was not something he knew much about
RIP Barristan "The Bold" Selmy. Takes out 18 sons of the harpy at 65 years of age. a true legend til the end.
I freakin' LOVE how the badly wounded Grey Worm's final instinct & drive before falling out was to tend to the mighty Barristan the Bold. Small moments like this tell us everything about characters, often far more than the words they say.
For a man with no balls hes got some big fucking balls indeed
RIP Old Ser 😢
There really is so much. Like more than you know. As someone whos read the books 3 times and seen the show more times than I can count, I notice new clues and foreshadowing even now just watching some of your reaction videos. It really is insane. There's no way anyone could get everything on the first run. You guys do great.
Truth. I won't read the books til the series is over though.
Preach
I agree! I've read the books all the way through, and seen the show several times, and I still catch things that I missed the first time around. . Lol don't feel bad Steven and Nikki! We understand. .
I must echo this sentiment. There’s no way to catch everything the first two times. I can’t tell if Melisandre knows why there is so much power in Jon Snow from this episode. But clearly she knows she can make Venom with him.
If any of you guys enjoy deep speculation of books and show I would suggest the channel Grey Area if you've never seen her before. She does an absolutely amazing job breaking down clues and foreshadowing and making her own predictions. Some of the things she points out just totally blows my mind.
The unsullied aren't trained for these kinds of urban combat in tight places. They are a trained army, meant to fight other armies. That is why their standard equipment is a shield and a spear. They are for a direct confrontation.
Having to fight in these tight places like alleys and streets, against enemies that ambush you and get right to your face with daggers, is their weakspot, really.
11:39 I think a lot of people had a "bring back Joffrey" moment, then became frightened and incredulous at themselves for having had it. I know that's how I felt.
Jamie once said that there were only three people in 7 kingdoms who might stand a chance against him: The Hound, The Mountain and Barristan Selmy.
Another Novel Note: Barristan's prowess with a sword was beautifully on display in that alley fight. He was knighted by Daenerys's great-grandfather King Aegon V after unhorsing Ser Duncan the Tall (the knight who had 4 whole pages dedicated to him in the Book of Brothers). When dismissed from the Kingsguard in season 1, he threatened that he could "cut through the five of you like carving a cake." In the alley fight, he gets 14 killing blows against the Sons of the Harpy.
@2:07 Nikki saying "we see everything" That would make a great house name for you.
that or "Allllriiiight!"
They are House Sava (not sure that's written correctly), 'We forgive but we do not forget'
I think that is freakin awesome, lol
Every house has its words (House Lannister: "Hear Me Roar"), and some houses also have a motto ("A Lannister Always Pays His Debts").
I think "We See Everything " is a fine motto for House Sava.
To quote Maester Luwin when teaching Bran about "'A Lannister Always Pays His Debts". “A common saying, but not their official motto.” :-)
"Leeets go!"
Oh my. I couldn't help but laugh when you described actor Sir Jonathan Pryce as "he was also in Pirates of the Caribbean." His career is so huge, man. He's done just about everything, including being a Bond villain at one point.
And he refused other parts to play in GOT. He instantly loved this High Sparrow script & finally said yes to the producers. Class act, that man.
I always think of him as Elliot Carver, the Bond villain.
The really disturbing thing about Pryce's portrayal of a Bond villain is how worryingly accurate it is to real life - the corrupt media tycoon who twists the news in order to suit his own agenda exists in the real world, but his name is Rupert Murdoch. As a fictional character, Murdoch would be the perfect Bond villain in the age of social media.
‘Brazil’ is one of his very best parts. Amazing movie too.
"Brazil" was a brilliant film. Vastly underappreciated movie.
I love the way they slip those sweet moments in with the brutal ones. The scene with Stanis and Shereen is one of my fave in this show; Sir Barriston telling Dany about her brother; Jaime gazing fondly at the Emerald Isles. Sigh . . . and then the slaughter begins. Don't worry about picking up on ever single detail. I've watched the series twice and read all the books. I'm watching it again to refresh my memory of each episode the day before I watch your reaction. I'm still finding things I missed. One of the great things about GRRM's writing and the way this show is filmed is that there are layers upon layers.
@5:05 I recall starting this reaction series, Nikki was so innocent and wouldn't harm a fly. And now she's strangling Steven!
"Lacel is not very hot right now." LOL! Awesome reference! 10:19
Did Nikki think he was hot I don't remember lol
Age Of The Witch No, it’s a Zoolander reference.

Age Of The Witch Nikki’s reaction to him saying it cracks me up.
The weekend has been awful without your GoT reactions, I don't quite know what I will do when they stop! ❤️ so excited about this!
We'll have to make them start watching vikings :)
idiot number3 you are absolutely right, it's the only way we can keep breathing :-D Vikings would be.... insane!!
Lisa Walker Ya’ll sleep on Breaking Bad. 🐐
My vote is on Avatar
Another good reaction! I’ve watched this series several times and I feel like I piece together something new, every time. Y’all are doing great!
Nikki, next time Steven says his quirky ‘Jon snow’, demand a trial by combat 😂😂
guys don't worry that you miss stuff. I've seen this series 3 times and still pick up on stuff I missed the first 2 times.
if you guys do a 45min. reaction, i do believe we would still watch all 45mins.
That's what all Patrons do! and they pay for it too ;) lol
Age Of the Witch: well am not a paytron so ill settle for this :D
Yes, we would. Cause firstly we are all obsessed with this show, no use lying about it or sugarcoating it; second because Nikki & Steven are people you would totally like to meet & hang out with, GOT or not.
We all subscribed to many channels that are all about pandering to fans or are purist about the books or are all about deconstructing the show; some we have left, others we still keep.
I would prefer a 45 min reaction, love these guys.
I'm pretty sure showing more that like 15-20 minutes of a 44 min episode or showing all of it falls under copywriting, they have to follow the rules and guidelines
Steven's face when Melisandre said "You know nothing Jon Snow" 😂
Jonathan Pryce (The High Sparrow) is awesome 😃
One of Wales' finest exports.
He plays a great bad guy in Taboo too (starring Tom Hardy )

Julia Linnea Jonathan Pryce: yes The High Sparrow: no
@@Nandrall18-25 ^ Didn't like his character at all but he was still very enjoyable because Jonathan Pryce is such a great actor.
Let's all roll our eyes in honor of Nikki's "Jon Sno", please. She deserves it too and it's too good of a opportunity to be missed 😉😂💕
Love your reactions guys 😘
Don't believe this spoils (moderators?) but 'Snow', 'Sand' and the like are bastard surnames routinely given based on their birth lands:
Waters - The Crownlands
Snow - The North
Pyke - The Iron Islands
Rivers - The Riverlands
Stone - The Vale
Hill - The Westerlands
Flowers - The Reach
Storm - The Stormlands
Sand - Dorne
Hope that helps to clear that up
That is not a spoiler, it is just good information.
😊
dont justify yourselves - u show us what u see fit :-)
That's the norm.
I was trying to post something similar but you said it better than I could xD
A friggin Men!
Shireen’s kept up in the tower mainly due for her own protection because even though she was cured for her Greyscale, people are still not convinced they’re safe around her.
Selyse (his wife) is kept up there because she’s gone a little bonkers.
rayraygunner or a lottle bonkers!
I love how Steven looks at Nikki and checks up on her every time something upsetting happens on screen #relationshipgoalsaf
We must always remember...true heroes run toward the danger not away from it. Well fought Ser Barristan and Greyworm. Cersei is wallowing in her own hubris. She believes that she can control the "High Sparrow" and his militants. Bless Jon Snow. He cannot be swayed or tempted. You guys are the best and the highlight of my day when you post...Thanks...TC
My reaction to Melisandre saying "You know nothing, Jon Snow" was like "bitch, you did not just" lol
the moment when Steven realised that both of them are probably no more...his expression was like he was so shocked!! and that expression exactly sums up how much Greyworm n Ser Barristan are loved by the people!! A black Day for Team Dany😔 Great Reaction you guys!!
The Son's of the Harpy are Son's of Bitches!
I couldn't stop laughing Steven 😂
Ser Barristan lives in the books (the real story) and remains by Danny's side. The books are currently in the Winds of Winter with the rest to be completed. The showrunners messed up taking him out for no reason.
Jaime's ✋ served as both protection and distraction in this situation , so he just found out that he needs to use that more , the sound when the blade hits it is distracting which gives him enough time to launch a counter kill move .
I love your reactions so much. I still think Sir Baristans end was one of the most unneeded death on GoT. RIP
These faith militants wouldn't have any chance of success if Tywin Lannister would still run the city.
P.S. Daenerys "bought" 8000 Unsullied and she still has the mercenaries of the "Second Sons".
I love this story because it really shows what an idiot Cercei is.
Can you imagine what Joffrey would have done to them?
She loses probably 200 in meereen.
After seeing faith militants, I wished Joffrey was alive to deal with them. That says something.
Just to clarify Shireen isn’t locked up. Stannis is on Dragon Stone so all the rooms look dark. Shireen can move around the fortress. That’s why she was able to teach Davos how to read while he was locked in the dungeon. People think she is locked up for some reason but she isn’t. It’s more clear in the books.
Jon's face when Melisandre says "You know nothing, Jon Snow" says it all
Yeah that ending bummed me out too...hell of a last stand though. Hats off to you Ser Barristan Selmy, aka Barristan the Badass!
RIP Selmy. You were one of the best in the whole world. :'(

Hi its up to you whether you want to delete Jori Bremners comment - I was just thinking about the oversharing info that you referred to. I hate being that person that picks on people's comments but in this case building Steven and Nikkis expectations for episodes (particularly 9 & 10) outweighs it.
I hope they dont read my reply but u do...and they just cut out both times rhaegar was mentioned in the episode one with sansa and baelish and one with ser barriston and dany

Ok here is the thing , if a reactor missed something important or just maybe didn't make it to the UA-cam video as they are naturally unaware of the importance of certain scenes or just can be seen on Patreon as they upload the entire Reaction , let them figure things out in there own time , we can only watch 20 min of the show and their full reaction here and the person who is editing is reacting himself so how can he know what is important to out and what not , you know something if that happens I would doubt the authenticity of their reaction !! it even usually makes for a more dramatic reaction when they see things later rather than sooner , that's my take on that anyway ;).
@@ChefNourhan yeah thats true....i would doubt that too...u are right...how can i expect them to put those scenes when they dont knw what is imp.!!

That high five was the most brutal thing in this video.
Oh guys there's so much I want to say (but can't)
Remember Nikki, just chant in your head ... the killing of horses isnt real 😉
In the books, Melisandre notices great magic at the Wall. There's certain spots her powers are greater
Can’t believe y’all have to explain why something wasn’t a part of the reaction. When he was introduced I didn’t give a crap about him either at first. Like you said, it took his second episode for me to see how important he was. Love you guys!
U r talking About whom ??
I know where people are getting the weak argument from, but I think it's more compassion.
I mean, back in season 2, even though he knew Robb Stark was the enemy, he told Cersei he wouldn't like Robb to be killed.
Tommen is sweet hearted, he doesn't want people to die, but unfortunately in his position, sometimes there's no other choice.
As much as I despise Little Finger, his strategies are insane, it’s like he sees and plans for almost every possible outcome....definitely makes for some interesting plots. Love the reaction and love rewatching the series with y’all!!!
Love the reaction of this werewolf and his silver queen wife!! 👌👌
This whole show, we go back to Ramsay.... "If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention!"
This may sound dark, but I love seeing the evolution of Nikki's reaction to the dying horses lmaooo. First time she was full on crying and now when it happens she just sighs hahaha
23:05 I always start laughing when Steve starts shaking his head in disbelief.
Remember that time the 4th episode leak, and we have to wait 1 month for see the 5th :'(
I love when nikki scream "noooooo" 😂😂😂😂
Nikki, you are absolutely gorgeous. Hope Steve knows how lucky he is! Keep up the good work guys
Sons of the Harpy are the medieval equivalent of internet trolls

Addison May No, i get why Sons of the harpy do what they do, they resist foreign invader who destroyed their way.... Internet trolls just, i dunno... Are bored.
Johnny-Oh lol that's fair. Medieval approximation then. :)
Age Of The Witch Yep!
Ser Barristan Selmy did say he shall die a knight. And he did. He died fighting with honor. Salute to a great warrior.
14:03 XDD Steven's immediate face at Mel's 'you know nothing Jon Snow' XDDDD
Too much
I watched his face drop like four times XD
Even though he went out like an absolute badass, and it was great to finally see him in action (combat), I'm still super-pissed that the showrunners decided to pull this.
Great reaction guys! You're right everything little finger does is very calculated. If you remember in a conversation earlier in the show, Varys was asked who the most dangerous man in Westeros was and he said it was Littlefinger. I think that says a lot about his character and how, unlike Varys, Littlefinger seems to have zero honour. Chaos is definitely a ladder!! can't wait for the next one!
"Ah, horse!" - Jesus, Steven you were enjoying that. 😅
People bring their bias's of having read the book, or seen all the episodes when they comment. Just take it for what it is and drive on. Your authentic, honest reaction to seeing it for the first time is why people watch. Giddy up!
"Damn this show!" LMAO...I cannot tell you how many times I have said that to myself as well...LMAO
Remember Oberyns: "Luckily for you we do not mutalate little girls in Dorne."? Ellaria is basically giving away Oberyns moral highground by also killing the innocent to harm the guilty instead of killing the guilty. I don't think Oberyn would have aproved.
Damn it Steven .....your editing out your farts? I think the reactions would be much more genuine if you just kept them in.😉🤣
LmaoOOo that's hilarious man , disgusting yes but hilarious 🤣🤣
I agree with this post!🤣
I mean, they have at least a dozen dragon egg candles by now. Light a match!
@@ellea3344 yes lol
hahaha yes! so funny
"No Witcher has ever died of old age in their bed."
Ser Barristan the Bold had the heart of a Witcher at LEAST
"The high sparrow, who was also in Pirates of the Caribbean"
That actually works on two levels
The moment the showrunners said 'fuck you' to GRR Martin's wishes and killed off Bariston Selmy. Even the actor said dont kill me I wanna stay but they were like nope. And in my opinion he didnt receive the death worthy of his character, particularly in a back alley of all places.
"Then why do you keep her locked away in a cell" because of her greyscale deformity, she, by societal Standard, is a grotesque, no better than a dwarf or a cripple. There was also concern that the disease may eventually awaken again
Please hurry up with episode 5. I can't believe I've become addicted to this.
i think they have, but i see a video has been deleted and that this page has been updated today so maybe some technical issues?
Tina Y yes, I see it now thanks.
They fought like champions!
When I first saw this show I was really hesitant on Grey Worm being the leader of the Unsullied because of how young and scrawny he looks. But this episode changed my mind, he's a straight up badass.
I loved Sir Barriston Selmy. My heart broke (yet again) in this episode. 😢😢😢
So the whole horse thing. I like to think that horses are such smart creatures and great actors that they get all the best dramatic death scenes in TV and movies.
8:15 The Lannisters send their regards.
Nice reaction vid:) Also this is first time I notice that both of you have the same hair cut..... That's awesome☺😉
The sparrows make havoc in King's Landing and Sons Of Harpy in Mereen
Yeah, it'd be cool if we could somehow get them to fight each other and we'd be rid of all of them.
The Unsullied were trained to fight in formation and in open battle. They weren't meant to fight in narrow streets as guards.
5:26 at that moment we can see Nikki going through all the various options of how to kill Steven.
So much stuff happening! I really love how passionate you guys get! It reminds me of my first time watching these episodes!
A lot of people don’t like Dorne’s storyline and I’ve never understood that. I really like it.
Jon Snow is such a cinnamon roll...
That Liar Liar reference alone gives you ALL THE POINTS!
u need to know... that... JORAH WAS THE COMMANDER OF GOLDEN COMPANY ONCE..... (ARMY OF IRON BANK... VERY RESPECTED FIERCE LIKE UNSULLIED)
I wish we'd have got to see more of Selmy fighting because that scene was epic
I'm so happy you guys at least questioned where Jorah was going. Most of the reactors that I've seen always assume that Jorah is taking Tyrion to Cersei. Like he just forgets he loves Dany that quick and is going to betray her completely and go to the other side. It doesn't make any sense!
As soon as Jorah told Tyrion he was taking him to the queen, I knew he meant Daenerys. As far as Jorah is concerned, Daenerys is the only queen, the rightful heir to the throne.
It could totally make sense. Jorah has done so much for her, what has she ever done for him? In the end she acts out of rage exiles him with nothing to show for his service for no good reason.
@@jacks.4390 I would agree if it was written anyway to imply that he never really loved her. He truly loves her. It's not like people that say, "oh I love you, you broke up with me, I'm going to ruin your life." That's not love. I'm not saying that Jorah is without fault or completely honorable. I'm just saying that given his feelings for Dany and the way he has acted thus far in the series toward her, him betraying her is not realistic without some sort of grand backstory that we are all not privy to. If he was almost any other male character and how we have viewed their actions of "love" (of course not all of the male characters), it would be plausible for them to switch sides and take Tyrion to Cersei.
Hmm that's a good point. I mean I had to dig a little in my soul and really think what would I do if I were Jorah; it wasn't obvious to me.
Daenerys had a good reason for exiling Jorah - he betrayed her, so that he could get a pardon from King Robert. Jorah wrote to the king about her marrying Khal Drogo, and getting pregnant. He stopped his treachery when he fell in love with her, and now he is truly loyal, but it's too late. The damage has been done.
I'm sure it's been commented on but that "high five" you guys did was so cute, funny & a little awkward 😂
The High Sparrow is a Knight of the Realm! Johnathan Pryce was knighted by the Queen yesterday. :)
Shireen has grey scale and it is very contagious. it's probably safe by now but most wouldn't know that. that is why she is locked away. love you guys
"Lancel...he's not very hot right now" OMG i can't , i lost it right there hahahaha 10:19 spilled beverage everywhere
They did Selmy dirty. He has a much larger part in the books, and he is still alive. They only killed him because he took up screen time.
Barristan Selmy or sir Barriston "the bold" join the kings guard when he was 16 years old. houever, what made him legendary was when he alone and unarme attacked a castle in order to save a pronce, Jaime told brienne that they were only 3 men that could beat him and the only one that confirmed was Barriston at the age of 60.
10:25 how convenient for them he didn’t hold onto that sword and shield for 10 seconds longer there!😅
