Extremely high production quality. Excellent work to the film crew
Haha I love that! Thank you so much. The film crew consisted of one guy 😆 Im very pleased that I gave off the effect of having a crew! 🙏🏼
Gouvernement du Québec fait une bonne chose, ça mérite un like. Vraiment bon vidéo aussi. 👍
This is a great story of collaboration and shared values. Congrats to Darian and Zach for their willingness to help the QC fisheries folks (I too can never remember their agency’s acronym ha!) but also a MAJOR kudos to the QC fisheries folks’ willingness to work with local anglers. You could hear genuine gratitude from them toward Darian. Congrats to all!
Thanks a lot, Sean! Your kind words mean a lot to me!
I grew up in Vaudreuil, I instantly recognized the concrete dock in the beginning of the video. Great job guys, love these videos !
The government should put a cash bounty on these guys or theyll become 50% of the biomass in the St Lawrence and great lakes in a couple decades. Really great video guys thanks for raising awareness.
Crazy too think about how these fish could ruin Quebec's water if they were too breed.
Malade, belle job! Super vidéo.
I defo did not expect to see a gov. collab on UA-cam. Great work
Some people are not part of the problem ❤! Phew!
Wow, the quality of this video is documentary standards...very professional. A great story is best told in this manner. Congrats man!
Great video, if you get any news regarding the fish, whether or not they were sterile or not and where they originated from that would be a great update! Thank you both for all the hard work
Thanks JF! We'll make a follow up once we get more info!
Incroyable cette vidéo les gars!

Wow, crazy to see this. Thanks for sharing. I had a feeling carp species (both evasive and natural) have been spreading north and clearly that is the case

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Greetings from Romania ! For those of you who want to fish them with a rod, they are crazy after fermented corn! You can find plenty different recipes about how to ferment the corn on you tube and how to use it afterwards.

Thanks Fishing OD for the discovery and a fish that i never saw before! Merci FOD pour la video, premiere fois que je vois ce que cet espece peut engendrer comme dégâts!

Excellent episode. Your DOP is insane (because yeah, at this level he's more like a DOP than a simple Cameraman).. His images and colors are perfect !!! Keep up the good work & thanks for this episode🙏
Zach is the best in the game! Glad you enjoyed, hours of work were put into this film!
Excellent video, so happy I got to see this. What a hero! Love the whole story and good on you for your excellent work. This is a serious and threatening issue and education is a huge part of it. Keep up the great work
Thank you very much for the kind words!!
Nice production!
I may have seen one in the Chambly canals. It was so big, dark and gnarly I thought it was a snapping turtle at first. Confirmed it was giant carp and watched as it just lumbered around the surface.
i live 1 hour away from Vaudreuil. This is very interesting. excellent production as well!
Superbe, qualité d'un documentaire professionnel ! Bravo !!!
Incredible documentary! GJ y’all!
Great work guys!!! Wow! 😮
Thank you!! 😁 Lots of work went into this one!
dope vid zach and darian !!!!
Thanks boss ❤
Incredible video
Amazing video I love learning about the province I live in!
That's super cool, man! Le fait qu'ils ton contacté et ton impliqué dans l'operation est veaiment cool! Congrats ! That's a super nice vidéo. Thank you for helping our fishery ! I live in the revoere des milles iles area in laval. I am 50 now. When i was a kid , leaving the shore, you had to row the boat at least 20 to 25 feet to get across the lily pads and water grass. Now, there's no vegetation around the shore of the intier laval island! Dont know if it has something to do with those carps.. It's really hard to find bass when there's no vegetation !🤷♂️✌️👍👌♥️🐟🎣
I fished for huge carp in a weir beside the Welland Canal as a kid. Every day they would make their way up to the weir bridge to feed. You could easily see them. Doughballs with worms worked best. I would trade the fish for pizza and DQ treats with the Americans who came to fish in Port Colborne. You needed 20lb test to land them, the biggest I caught was 4ft. I had one fishing pole ripped out of my hands when a Sturgeon took the bait. Excellent video.
Amazing work!
Thanks a lot!
An experience that I'll never forget!!
Good man! Proud of you brother... Et gros merci a Quebec avec le rapid response, Super. Je me sous... (Easter egg)..
I'm just down stream, S.s.mtl... I'm going fishing..
Incroyable! MERCI BEAUCOUP
Great lil documentary, your french and English both sound very good 👍😊

Merci pour ta contribution face a une espece invasive. Awesome video

Great job guys ! 💪
Thank you 🙌
@@FishingOD_OFFICIAL Great filming and super editing !
That means a lot!
Great job by all, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing !
Très bonne vidéo 🎥
Nice job guys. I'm as happy as you for catching them.
Great Video, loved it. The color of the fish looks like one of the triploid "golden" grass carp they used to sell at aqua Tropical and other stores ( I had one in my koi pond that i euthanized when it got too big). The disconcerting thing is there were more than one of them , can't wait to hear scientific results.
Invasive species are a problem - I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one Wels catfish in the Lac St. louis area of the St. Lawrence river. It was way too big to be one of the local species and it looked like what i saw on the TV show river monsters.
Very interesting observation. Thanks for your input! Luckily here it gets cold enough to get rid of most invasive species that get dumped but of course some survive.
Just Brilliant!
Wooow who knew! Nice find 🤞
Thank you Dani 🥹
Cool video.
on peut avoir la suite ???
Éventuellement c'est certain! Nous avons pas de nouvelles encore.
qualité de fou !
Très beau vidéo très bien film le sons est parfait merci pour ce vidéo 🤠
Merci Sylvain!
We know they are here in Ontario waters as well; only a matter of time until they are everywhere.
Hey there! I have been bowfishing all that area for the last 6-7 years and now that their presence is confirmed I can say that I am 100% sure I have shot a bunch of them. I knew they were found in Chambly's bassin but didnt really thinking they would be in Vaudreuil at all. The first carp that caught my eye was propably summer 2019. At first I thought it was just a really big carp...
You have pictures? You should be submitting them to the government.
Rod reel and some floating bread would get them easy.
I don't think that easy is the right word! But you're right, that's how most people get them!
@@savagefishing8133 lol yeah 50 pound carp wouldn't be easy.
Merci beaucoup!
In retrospect, I think I have seen one of these in the Lachine Canal. I fish there a lot and there was one carp that I saw several times that was larger than the other carp, darker, and had that upside down face. This was in 2021 or 2022 but I haven't seen one since then.
Nice job!! Where did you guys catch these?
Lake of Two Mountains
Congrats and wonderfully done!
Would love to know the exact spot so we can fish!
There have also been sightings of grass carp in the Chambly basin.
I've seen them in multiple bays on Lake of two mountains.
great vid. keep them out of our waters.
Just saw 4 MASSIVE 20-50 lb Asain carp together in Georgian Bay at 2am while out on my paddleboard.. 5 years ago, there were tons of pike, gar, bass and dogfish... This year I only saw carps, and 1 small musky and dogfish in 3 days of scouting the shore (I caught the musky with a net lol) I had one of the massive carps in my net but it escaped before I could bring the net up.
You sure it was asian carp?
@@FishingOD_OFFICIAL Ive never seen them before, they were Gray, huge and had lots of fins. What stood out to me the most was the fins on their sides.
Unreal
Holy moly, I didn't expect the fish to be so big
Massive!
The main question remains how can we intervene in order to forbid this invasion ???
Thats for the government to decide! Still awaiting updates!
Fascinating
Truly!
amazing quality for only 3k subscirbers how much money did you putinto this channel?
Hey thanks for the comment. I’ve now put in thousands of hours and a lot of funding towards each video I produce. Just haven’t had my moment yet :)
What a moment boys !,
Once in a lifetime!
Thank you quebec for being serious with grass carp i dont want them in our rivers 😢 i like our butiful rivers
I live in Quebec (eastern townships ) and ive seen one where i live. Can they hybridize with other carps?
I doubt it. I've never heard of that but I'm not 100% sure, you'd have to research it.
Bravo
In BC the ministry of environment introduced NON-NATIVE Carp and Bass into numerous lakes...NOW WE HAVE A PROBLEM
🔥🔥
Think about how much power that fish will create if you fight this monster.
Just a diversion from the main topic: What do you think bit that 11-year-old boy from L.A., sustaining at least one deep cut on his leg, that required a hospital visit? This was last week, around the 04-05th, while swimming at the (enclosed) public beach on Ile Ste-Helene. Apparently, the authorities were also dumbfounded, by this 'attack'.
It's been know that there are big predator fish in those waters. They don't have good eyesight. Definitely had no intentions of hurting the boy, just an accident. There are videos online of musky attacking trolling motors and we use giant lures to catch them. They are definitely the apex predator but not usually a danger to humans.
Cool vid, but if you got these in a bfnw bay in Vaudreuil, we're fked already.
Still awaiting results from the laboratory but our hopes are that they are infertile.
Conservation efforts are being made like this, Michigan on the other hand allows speargun harvesting of game fish in the Great Lakes.. not all conservation is equal . Thanks for the hard work on our ecosystem guys!
Let’s goooooooooooooooooooo TBRNK!!!!
Ils sont dans le fleuve au niveau de Longueuil aussi. J’avais vu environ 5-6 carpes gros comme dans le vidéo.
Insane for real, je capote
I would RF tag a few and observe where they go and how they get there...I think they are still used in the NE U.S. to control plants in ponds and smaller bodies of water...Are they coming up the Richelieu River, or from the Lake of Two Mountains direction...?
They are climbing lake of two mountains so they'd be coming from the st lawrence. Up or down, who knows.
Nice wheel buddy
Thanks!!
Contact the guys at Carpe Quebec. They can help you catch and remove them.
