Rediscovered this game many years later for myself after feeling kind of meh on release about it. It has a great flow. Indeed the more you play it, the more you like it. Definitely my case.
Great run! This game and the Sorrow games introduced me to Castlevania, and I absolutely love them. It was really nice seeing a no-warp run. Technical issues aside, it was very fun to watch.
GDQ runs have a special place in my heart, both for showcasing my favourite titles (my first metroidvania!) and for consistently fantastic commentary which makes the show much more accessible and enjoyable. Huge thanks to GDQ staff and the runner!!
Really? Why? I've always found it to be one of the weakest. The graphics are obnoxious, the controls are wonky, and the music leaves a lot to be desired.
@@WheelzOfFortune I personally really like the graphics, the game has a really unique dtyle and all the zones feel distinct. I greatly enjoy the movement in this game, from the start the game lets you be super fast and agile which is great. It's true that the game can be too easy but I don't need every game to be challenging, sometimes it's nice to grab an easy game an explore. I like that you can find every big upgrade in the castle unlike CotM which makes you grind for combat upgrades and I also found the furniture to be a fun collectible although I admit it can be superfluous for some. The only strictly negative aspect for me is the music, which I found got worse the more I paid atention to it. Overall I think this game is reallt good, I wouldn't put it on par with AoS, SotN or OoE but it's really not too far behind them
That technical issue in the beginning was pretty jarring, but otherwise, excellent run and you did a wonderful job explaining what was happening! As someone who's beaten every Castlevania game, this particular title was actually the most annoying castle to navigate and get 100% on, of all of them for me. That said, it sure is nice to see someone who knows exactly where they're going/what they're doing knock it out so quickly!
Can't think of a single cartoon villain who sounds anything like this guy. He does have a nice voice, he could do voiceover work for sure. But a villain? No.
The best Castlevania soundtrack at the worst sample rate ever. I didn't know this game had any hard bosses. If you're leveling normally they all pretty much just stand there, jump up and down a few times, and drop dead.
I played this game on release and somehow it only just occurred to me at 0:24 of this video that the main character's name is friggin "Juiced Belmont". I want to know which kind of steroids I have to take to get a trail of phantom images to show up behind me.
Finidshed this game yesterday. Started very prejudiced with Juste because he is very similar to Alucard. in fact, the fans wanted the return of Alucard and the developers wanted the money and the result was a Belmont Zombie. I finished the game with the same opinion about the protagonist, but the gameplay was incredible and this game had the potential to be better than SotN. Unfortunately, it was released for a handheld console which made it a shadow of what it should have been.
Just beat this game, it's terrible for an Igavania, I liked what they attempted but made it far too cumbersome to get around and the map design was not intuitive. With a few quality of life choices, it would be better. Thank god for the maxim glitch to get that trophy in 3 minutes
Agreed. Easily the worst of the GBA/DS games... Didn't like it on GBA when it first came out and somehow it seems even worse now on the PS4. The graphics are atrocious, the controls are wonky, the music is just meh... and yeah, wtf were they thinking with the castle layout?

This is the best commentary I've ever seen coming from a live player.
Really love the GBA's Castlevanias, smooth gameplay and delivery !
His streams are great. You should check him out
great narration throughout the entirety of the run. very clear explanations for someone who has never played the game!
Jupiter climb truly does have one of the best voices for speed running
congratz on a clean run Jupiter! So happy you could be part of GDQ
Harmony is my first ever Castlevania game, glad to see it in a GDQ. I really like the cool, calm, and humorous commentary!
this guys voice is amazing, i love it lol
I love this part 16:57 "Excellent, double dive kick stack" my guy has an amazing stream voice
dude the gba castlevania's were gold.
Jup is such a G. I can listen to him talk about anything.
One of my favorite runs from this SGDQ and definitely made me a fan of JupiterClimb!
Rediscovered this game many years later for myself after feeling kind of meh on release about it. It has a great flow. Indeed the more you play it, the more you like it. Definitely my case.
Awesome run and fantastic solo commentary. Seriously love the Metroidvanias and this was simply fun to watch.

In my opinion this is one of the best castlevanias. Great speedrun, jupiterclimb.

Harmony of Dissonance Juste run is finally here in gdq!
Great run from JupiterClimb too!
Awesome run! So nice to see people still playing this game
That technical issue in the beginning was pretty jarring, but otherwise, excellent run and you did a wonderful job explaining what was happening! Worse than circle of the moon?
@@GreatistheWorld For me, definitely. Played both games again recently in the GBA collection and still had a devil of a time with Harmony. : [
@@GreatistheWorld Are you joking? CotM is fantastic. Harmony is trash.
@@WheelzOfFortune I strongly, STRONGLY disagree, but that's just my experience. Maybe once I replay them my opinion will change...
@@WheelzOfFortuneI believe he meant CotM being the worst in regards to map completion, which I can attest to. Fuck the Battle Arena.
This run was so good, I'm glad I caught it live.
Fun run and great commentary!
What a run! Well explained and fun. Love these GBA Castlevanias.
Such a clean run, I was hooked the whole way through. Jupiter is such a good commentator haha.
So glad it's live again.
Nice, one of my favorite games. Cool to see it getting speedrun so quickly.
My dude pulling those sparkling clean stacks
This game was my childhood! It took me so long to beat it!!! Watching it be this ran this quick is mind blowing! 🤯
Excellent run JC!
Gdq kind of snuck up on me and by the time I realized it, I had missed my chance to watch or donate during Jup's run, but glad I can watch the VOD
Congratulations on your performance. Also, you talk like a cartoon villain.
No way, Jupiter sounds like a radio or podcast host, he’s the goat
Can't think of a single cartoon villain who sounds anything like this guy. He does have a nice voice, he could do voiceover work for sure. But a villain? No.
yeah. It's one of the reasons why I always go back on his runs here.
The slide ability being called Lizard Tail must be a reference to Dracula climbing the walls "in his lizard fashion" in the original novel?
JupSmug💜
First Juste run, legendary
Impressive run!
great run
The Gradius shield reminds me design wise (Gradius aside) of the X-parasites from Metroid Fusion/Dread.
Steady, steady... BONK!
That made me laugh.
Good run!
Excelent run JC :)
Jupiter climb da 🐐 no 🧢
It's the man! Hammer himself!
i love this game, many considering it poor muisc wise, but i love the music

I always pronounced Juste's name as Joo-stay
Can you narrate audio books?

Why does it say PC?
Advance Collection.

So, what kind of dialect / accent is that?
Great run, great commentary
