Grosjean didn't hit anyone, Vettel made a massive mistake, Leclerc spun three times. What is this world I'm living in?
Small mistake - big impact
Lewis Hamilton yeah literally impact. ^^
Grosjean was amazing after the safety car, made 2 moves on the force Indias on the last 2 laps to get 6th
no mistake, he was the first going onto that wet track
Hans Knobel Of course there was a wet track, but Seb is competing in F1. He's a part of the elite groupe of 20 persons who should now how there cars behave on a wet track. Even with slicks and for the first time.
Just kidding. :-) But in the end it was a mix of both.
Clicked quicker than pierre gasly on the wets
Jeppy Amazing 😆
This is not tough
We all did tho
True
this race was...whelming, neither overwhelmed or underwhelmed by it, just whelmed
hahah it does, but all teh credit goes to Lee Anderton and rob Chapmann
Mehdi BENHAMMOU nonono not to chappers and the captain (although I love them), its flight of the conchords!! Check them out they are hilarious
Mehdi BENHAMMOU
Chastity: I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?
Bianca: I think you can in Europe.
~ 10 Things I Hate about You
Mehdi BENHAMMOU I hate to be that guy but whelmed is no longer a word and when it was it just means overwhelmed
I need what Toro Rosso were on when they put Gasly on full wets
Christian Fennell they were on Honda engine fumes
Christian Fennell somebody was thinking way outside the box.... They were anticipating torrential rain.... If the rain would have come they would have been viewed differently..... Instead we get to laugh which is perfect. Lol
Honda testing
marvin lawrence Yup, same reason why Verstappen came in because he wasn't going to loose a position it was a free pit stop that could have poored and been the right call.
Haha!
"we got wet and we loveeeed it" Matthew Gallagher 2018
I'd give the race a 7-8. It was pretty good. The mid field was great
Hue-Man it's a shame that they didn't show more of that.
reminded me of baku, only a handful of laps with action and carnage taking place but other than that ehh. Still both races were really good
in the midfield was such a chaos, when Raikkonen and Bottas lapped them
Ima give a 7. Both finns in podium but a little salty about team orders
Masa Mainio I can understand why they would with the threat of rain and how both Ferrari and Mercedes are competing for lead in the championship. They don't want to risk losing out with racing each other also with Hamilton and Vettel having more points than their teammates it makes sense. If it was earlier in the race , I think they would have let Kimi and Bottas keep doing what they were doing
It's funny how Hamilton complains about the safety car speed but it's a Mercedes car...
Mercedes actually have an upgraded sc for this season...
it wouldn't matter if the SC was Mercedes or another brand. It's not capable of the speed or acceleration that F1 cars require to maintain heat in the tyres. Obviously you are both brain dead and a hamilton hater.
mrtheoden im not a Hamilton fan but i don’t hate him but what you just said is so true
F1 cars must be driven at speed to generate heat into the tyres. At lower speeds, and especially in cooler temperatures, it is exceedingly difficult to get them to generate enough grip. Lewis might be more vocal than some other drivers about it, but he is 100% correct. I also suspect that Lewis 'feels' more from the car than most other drivers, so is more in tune with his car and the tyres.
Let’s make the SC a generic F1 car incapable of being competitive but very much capable of being safe and a pacemaker 😆 Raikkonen can drive it because the guy rarely crashes
And no one thinks its worth mentioning how Ferrari still after Vettel's crash had chance to win this race with Kimi had they been awake and pitted him RIGHT away.... but managed to screw that one up, as usual.....Hamilton would have followed him and Bottas to the pits and well....you saw what happened with Bottas...Kimi with normal pitstop would have come out in the lead and won the race
Kimi's first race win since 2013 blown out of the window right there =(.....Ferrari pitwall sleeping and then pitting him 1 lap too late, ending up behind even Bottas despite his catastrophic pitstop...
Balnazzardi Ferrari did everything wrong, but Vettel as well....
e.mc2 i quess you didnt quite understand what i wrote/meant, read again.....
This is a very important point that I missed during the chaos of the race. I'm sure most missed it too. Good job on noticing it. Kimi's pace was very good at the time, and he definitely could have had a much better shot had Ferrari made the call. Remember, even in the post race interviews, Kimi kept mentioning how he was surprised by the grip available. I didn't realize it during the race, but it's incredibly frustrating and disappointing now. Ferrari lost 2 opportunities to win the race for Kimi. 1 trying to keep the error prone baby happy, and 2 switching their brains off after the baby destroyed his chances of winning.
e.mc2 Were you even WATHCING the race?.... Bottas was in front of Kimi and DID have that catastrophic pitstop and Hamilton WAS coming into pits as well until he saw that Kimi was continuing in the track.
ua-cam.com/video/gp-i8vtgzJE/v-deo.html
THAT situation RIGHT there.....You can see Bottas coming in, Kimi continuing on track and Mercedes calling Hamilton in who only at last second turns back on track when he sees that Kimi is not pitting....
Had Kimi came in, he would have emerged from the pits in the lead and likely won the race! Its that simple, how did you and so many others, INCLUDING most of F1 press/media completely missed this situation is beyond me....and even more so how pathetic bunch of amateurs those bloody wankers at Ferrari pitwall were! Its like after Vettel was out of the race, they forgot that they still had Kimi in this race....
Sigh no....watch the freaking clip....Mercedes had called Hamilton in and the only reason why he turned away the last second was because Kimi didnt pit...otherwise Hamilton would have come into pits as well, its pretty damn clear from the radio conversation....
It was that moment right there that Hamilton won the race because Ferrari were sleeping , otherwise he would have suffered behind Bottas and Kimi would have taken easy lead to the Mercedes pitstop failure....
It was solely due Ferrari's incompetence to react after Vettel's crash that Mercedes took 1-2 in this race.
Is nobody going to talk about Bottas's pitstop wtf was that
Siddhartha N They had be prepared to put on softs and made a audible to go for the ultras a the last second. Bottas didnt loose any time either because he still came out behind Hamilton
Waffeey was still crazy to see
There was a miscommunication in the tyres but the team sorted it very well. At least he didn't end up with softs on the rear and ultras on the front.
Was rooting for Danny Ricc as always, was gutting not to see him finish
I also root for Max and Daniell. Daniell has the same shit going on like Max's first part of last year. Then it switched to Daniell. Hongary, Singapoor, Mexico and Brasil still to go !
When Räikkönen was first and Bottas second was SO AMAZING!!!!!
Only the dutch fans were cheering in the grandstands when Vettel crashed. Everyone else was devastated.
Kajetan nope, those were Mercedes fans.
A whole sporting nations identity is purely based on their idea of a David vs Goliath thing they think they got going on with the Germans, when in reality most of the time the Germans win and the Dutch lose.
TheKoalabear There were a few, but not many. At least where I was
Dutchies don't even understand the sport so who cares about them
MajicGecko PMPL It's not like we've had other f1 drivers and indy 500/Le Mans winners😅 just those football hooligans wearing a F1 verstappen cap.
Ballerina of the day: Charles Leclerc
Unlike vettel, Charles didnt crash
@@prisonermonkeys8613 you added litteraly nothing to this comment, you only subtracted
Danny Ric dropping out of 40% of his races due to reliability is depressing.
Hey, at the end, Hartley got a point! He snuck up there at the end. I think that was pretty shocking and good for him!
What I have to say about F1 currently is, that the fanbase of F1 is the most childish fanbase I've ever seen. Complaining about everything, these silly Hamilton/Vettel Fanfights, even the drivers get good along with each other.
Once you say one bad thing about any of these 2, get ready to be absolutely hated on.
BenDaKill - and the hate account’s like crybabyvettel, crashtappen, crasherty bottas there are lots more but I don’t know them from my head
Have you seen NASCAR’s fanbase?
Havent watched the whole race, but only saw the small higlights on YT... I feel so sad for Vettel - he was in tears in his car, this race meant so much to him and he lost it. No one seems to ever talk about him in the UK for being a fantastic driver, racer and all round nice guy off the track. He deserves much more credit.
No one outside the uk talks how gr8 of a driver Hamilton is
i`m wondering why nobody talks about Hamilton breaking one rule but didnt get a penalty.
BaufuchsLP
Because it's Hamilton.. 😒
Chris Valeske bullshit
BaufuchsLP Tbh it's a bit of a grey area, even thought ethically that's unfaur
[[Insert Name]] he didn't gain time by doing this, or endanger someone, in a period of change and confusion. Reprimand is good enough.
[[Insert Name]]
No its not.
There is this big red bollard (or something) and you are not allowed to cross after passing this bollard.
Actually, ferrari messed up with seb's pitstop timing, if vettel pitted 1-2 laps earlier, he'd have come out of the pits in front of kimi. Then we'd not have seen team orders.
I mean, people got crazy about seb's radio messages, but they just forget that he had the advantage and ferrari messed with it by not pitting him 1-2 laps earlier.
Ferrari seem to always fuck up on their strategy
FrostHack3r1 start watching this season... jesus the first race was win of strategy
as a Vettel fan, I cried for hours.
That happened so many overtakes in the first part of the race, wich i really liked, drivers driving so nice and clean was just so awesome to watch.
TheHappyGamer Especially when Ricciardo had this battle with Vandoorne for a few laps
I'm so glad that you went back to the original race rundown.
#Hockenheimfor2019
Stylo Boy
You have my support
Chris Valeske thx
Hockenheim has to be in the calendar for the next season. Great track with many overtaking opportunities and all these on-boards in the third sector.. They look insane for me.
Stylo Boy #nürburgring24kmfor2019
#nordschleife2019
It’s so funny watching this 5 years later…. Production values are much higher now
I clicked faster than a McLaren Honda.
Fritz that's not saying a lot
Well your a hour late
Fritz this is not 2017 m8
So way faster than McLaren Renault
Fritz not ever fast
Yes, thank you for going back to the old race rundown!
Amg project one should be the safety car for next season
Everone is complaining about the Ferrari teamradio...
Valtteri was not allowed to overtake Lewis!
It's the same shit...
1:1
Edit: At least Ferrari's Radio makes sense because of the different strategies.
Mercedes' was just giving Lewis the win...
Chris Valeske no it isnt! Please dont be deluded i dont understand why ferrari fans need to bring mercedes into everything like chill out man.
To counter your statement: A key belief within Mercedes is that the two teammates will be able to race against each other, unlike ferrari who have a clear number one and number two system. The conditions were very greasy and slippery so Mercedes gave their drivers a chance on the safety car restart to fight for the win. Once Hamilton defended his position (especially seeing how close they got) they did the smart and safe thing and told them to back off from each other. So whats the issue? Yes it isnt a direct battle for the lead but they gave him a chance at least.
If they collided together and gave 48 points to ferrari then everyone would slate them. Damned if they did, Damned if they didnt
S D
Great argument.
Daniel O
Wtf it's still a teamorder...
Chris Valeske ffs its a team order yes but it shouldnt be met with negitivity unlike what we have seen from ferrari in the past years
It’s because Mercedes wanted to bring home both cars and not do what Vettel did. It also appears that Hamilton was faster because he ended 4.5 seconds ahead of Bottas.
No reactions to Hamilton crossing the Pit Lane entry and bailing?
ikr, he should have got a 5s penalty for that, I think it wasn't even under investigation, was it?
Loud Amir they investigated it. He only got a reprimand.
Peter Zinman What penalty would a midfield driver have received for it?
alphadave in the past this has drawn a 5 second penalty. Enough to put Bottas into first.
Am I the only one that laughed a little at Hulkenberg's "Thanks" when the Force Indias came together in front of him?
The best show on UA-cam!!
Watching Vettels crash was like watching someone go through the 7 stages of grief in about a minute
How did you not mention *inininininininininininininininininininininininininininininininininininininin*
OMG TOMMY'S DOG IS ALMOST AS ADORABLE AS HE IS
almost
what about stoffel his ingeneer. "oh the engine works again?"
Yes, even Stoffel had to laff about it afterwards.
You killed "the race rundown". I clicked just to hear that mate!
4:54 it was 2010
Renzo Hering yes I know I fucked up lol
I was there yesterday and the weather after the race turned the whole place into pure chaos !!
Vettel was taking lessons on bottle jobs from Tiametmarduk.
Was I the only one who couldn't understand Cyril
2012?? what kind of F1 Fan is that 4:50
SOR_Lakitu Ironically in 2012, at the Korean GP There's been a pretty similarly awkard moment between Alonso and Massa
[[Insert Name]] he meant the German GP. In Germany 2012 Massa was nowhere near Alonso
SOR_Lakitu in fact i ment the 2012 Korean GP
[[Insert Name]] You maybe but i didnt mean you hence why I said "he"😂😂😂 korea 2012 they didn't use the term "Fernando is faster than you"
Sorry I fucked up with that tweet it was 2010 shit
I’m going to the hungaoring this Sunday and I’m so hyped first time I’ve been since 2014 at Hungary when it was pissing down with rain!
I PMSL when Vettel binned it. I also think Hamilton should have gotten a penalty for cutting out of the pit entrance.
donkykóng
And in Qualifing for pushing his car on track
Me not getting that this is 2018:
Oh hey, WTF1 is faster than the official channel.
4:35 it was in 2010
Renzo Hering yeh I messed up with that tweet
I actually fell asleep during the race. And later woke up after the race, saw the results and thought to myself: "HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?"
Id rate it 7/10 cuz it didnt rain that much that they all had to go on inters.
Safety car +1
Ericson in the points -2
Rain +1
Leclerc survives 360 spin +4
Less Rain -1
2th drivers trying to overtake +2
More Rain +2
Drama +1
Total score 8.654321
Still wanting to hang myself after Vettel bottles it. Especially since Lewis won from 14th. Im sad that Bottas was told to hold off since the finish could have been better. I understand the comparison to Ferrari telling Kimi to let Seb through, but they were on different strategies while Bottas was on better tires and was told to quit attacking.
acenace24 because had they collided, the team would have lost 43 points
kwstantinos naoum
Oh come on. They can have a race without colliding. It's not like they're amateurs.
Sairi Yeah Vettel isn't an amateur either but you saw what happened and he wasn't even battling someone
Sairi Ss so that's why Lewis and Nico never collided when leading 1-2...
The team just has to tell them not to be too aggressive and then you can have a sweet battle.
The dog part was great, funny episode overall
Fun fact: The last 4 drivers to win in hockenheim went on to lose the drivers championship on the last round of the season. Alonso(2010)-Alonso(2012)-Rosberg(2014)-Hamilton(2016)
Security Key
Don't get my hopes up please.
pointless stat
Daniel Macharia i know but it would be interesting if this would happen again
Hopefully the crybaby doesn't win...He's been gifted wins and everything...He does not deserve championships... #Valtteri2019WDC
Security Key It would be fucking lovely
I love your ‘Edinburgh Castle’ picture behind you.
No talking about Hamilton being a cheeky bastard and bailing out of going into the pits and the non-penalty for doing so? 🤔
glad the normal race rundown is back
OH ITS PUTTING DRYS ON
that made me laugh much harder than anything in this video. well done.
Absolutely no mention of Nico Hülkenberg getting P5.
may just be me but Grosjean looks like a discount Button
Watching from the Mercedes tribune was amazing. After the race it rained for atleast 3 hours just pissing down rain and it was actually thundering and lightning struck like 100m from the Mercedes tribune
Not a ferrari fan but when ferrari used team orders, it clearly was because Seb was the leading car throughout the race, had much fresher tyres and was losing a lot of time to the Mercedes behind him unnecessarily. Bottas eventually passed Raikonen so clearly if Vettel had been stuck behind Raikonen, he too would've been vulnerable to Bottas. The orders mercedes used were purely to gift Lewis the win
Ace Reaction Yeah, Vettel would have overtaken anyway, they just made it easier for him. Bottas could've easily won the race but theyre just giving everything to ham.
Undeserved victory for Lewis the crybaby
Ace Reaction To that we can argue that in Hungary 2017 Vettel was the slower car in front and heavily relied on having Räikkönen with a faster car behind him cause if Räikkönen had been let through Bottas would have overtaken Vettel. Räikkönen in both scenarios got the short end of the stick, had to protect Vettel in Hungary and had to let Vettel through in Germany along with losing a position to Bottas on track. A disgrace, truly. Vettel should have just stayed where he was protecting Räikkönen's lead on a track where it was indeed hard for the top cars to overtake each other. Pretty sure none of them overtook each other in racing conditions. Bottas got Räikkönen cause of slow back markers. So team orders at Ferrari were a disgrace.
LethalWalou Vettel was like 7 seconds ahead of Raikonen before Raikonen made his first pitstop. Raikonen made up a lot of time by pushing extremely hard because rain was predicted. Raikonen would definitely have to stop again if it stayed dry. Vettel did not. Vettel was going for the win, Raikonen was going for third place. They are on different strategies, Raikonen is going like 2 seconds slower than Vettel could in clean air, I’m not sure what your argument is. Why would anyone in their right minds throw away a guaranteed win for no reason, Vettel would eventually pass Raikonen because he is that much faster and Raikonen would have to pit or lose so much time that he’d probably come in 5 th. I’m sorry but if you don’t let Vettel through in that situation, you’re just throwing the race away.
Ace Reaction He was doing just fine with those tires he had. It was a clear excuse from Ferrari pitwall to say that Räikkönen is destroying his own tires by driving in front of Vettel. Destroying his tires in clean air, while not even driving defensively cause Vettel couldn't get close? Lol. We saw how far Hamilton took a set of those softs and Ferrari has had better lifetime on the tires and Räikkönen is known for extending stints. He could have made it till the end with that set anyways.
2 brilliant things
The office + WTF1 = the internet reacts vids
I clicked faster than Hamilton getting a penalty...
M Hamza Tarteel
Thats not very hard to be honest xD
Mate if you didn’t click how are you commenting on this video
Yay the original race rundown
What about that AWESOME spin out save
I think Hulkenburg and Grosjean deserve a shout-out for this race, brilliant drive from the former and a great recovery from the latter (hopefully helping ma boi Romain to keep his seat)
Hamilton was gifted the win. Dissapointing race
UltimateFormula1Fan how? Hamilton was the best driver on the track and kimi should have won it. Vettel fucked up, accept it
delusional hater haha it was one of the best races this season anyway
Yeah,team orders...
UltimateFormula1Fan no credit for getting thru the entire field on those soft compounds..... For 42 laps. The tie management alone going past the max of about 35 laps through the field was impressive by itself. Didn't jus manage but was right there after everyone else pitted..... When he got those ultras he was flying and making up seconds each lap..... Give proper respect.
Wow so you will ignore him getting through the field and front to just focus on one thing.
To be honest lewis was gonna keep bottas behind anyway even if he was allowed to attack its just mercedes is thinking about the constructors as you can see by the fact that they took the constructors lead.
If they would have faught kimi could have taken both of em or maybe they could have come together which would be a shame.
If the constructors wouldnt be in play i would understand you but you have to keep in mind that even F1 is a team sport where a team is trying to win
WHAT A GREAT DOGGO, Frank needs to cameo more or just be the host tbh
At 1:01 he looks like micheal Rosen or whatever his name is lol
I never realised how funny this series was
Lewhine Hamilton
Peak Racer Vettel was actually crying in the cockpit (his voice breaks and you can hear him sniffing) so...?
@Daniel O That was the expression of disappointment after a near-perfect weekend, also it was a retirement before his home crowd of course he'd be emotional. Not like Hamilton who whines when things don't go his way.
Sairi Ss Yeah so Vettel cried because it didn't go his way, no difference
You do fucking realize the difference between emotion and ego right? Just read my reply slow and steady and lets hope you can catch up to my point there.
Sairi Ss
I know you like vettel so naturally you are biased towards him. But there are double standards at play here
to be honest, the worst part of the race for Leclerc was probably, pitting too early for inters and suffering, then re-pitting back onto dry tyres, then one lap later the rain came down again, even harder. all of this while he was still potentially in a great points paying position, dropping down to near dead last.
#maFIA
You know it was chaotic when there was shown 8 drivers fighting for p10
You are such a Hamilton fanboy and it shows.
MajicGecko PMPL he's trying to be objective
Does it? 🤔
Ah come on i am Vettel fan and yes im heartbroken but i think he is trying to stay objective in the matter soooooo
Interesting, if he's a Hamilton fanboy, why does he support Ricciardo and Leclerc, the Haas team etc. all on the same level?
You are more than welcome not to watch, if that's how you feel. Also, is he not allowed to have a favorite driver? This ain't news journalism...or journalism for that matter lol.
Seeing Gasly's predicament I got a flashback to F1 UA-camr Championship with Aarava screaming, "THEY PUT WETS ON!"
How can you campare the ferrari and the mercedes team orders?
Vettel was clearly faster and they we're on different strategies.
And Bottas was told to hold Position, so that the crybaby would Not cry again.
Thats just Killing the Sport and in austria ferrari didnt use team orders...thats just sad from mercedes.
Nysteo. Hello just wanted to point out that Hamilton set three consecutive fastest laps in the final few laps and Bottas who was doing personal best laps was still at least three tenths off per lap when he was in clear air for them at the end. Also it wasn't so much team orders for the championship but team orders for the race independently as the worst case scenario would have been for them to collide and let raikkonen take the win (although that would have let hulkenburg podium which I'd have been buzzing about)
Rebekah the magical Muggle hulk podium would have been nice.
Bottas slowed Rai down
He had new tyres and would overtook him i Think.
Rebekah the magical Muggle He was told to hold off Kimi you dumbshit didn't you even watch the race????
Rebekah the magical Muggle And are you a Kimi hater since Kimi winning would have been the worst scenario?
s0m3thinG bit aggressive there hun, my point is that kimi was only 0.5s away on the restart and Mercedes needed to ensure they got the 1-2 and not lose it due to anything silly. Plus as I said in the last few laps they were all in clear air and Lewis was going the quickest. Bwoah I'm not a kimi hater and I really want him to win a race soon (I'm hoping at spa) but for Mercedes yes that was the worst case.
First half of the race is for fans who can follow strategy and tire wear.
Karma for vettel
MrBeanMasterTed
For what?..
MrBeanMasterTed for what!?
for what exactly?
They don't know. They've discovered a new word and use it willy nilly.
Chris Valeske winning in silverstone
I watched the first lap then fell asleep. Woke up around lap 38 and was on edge until the end. 7/10
Probably the most anticipated race reaction this far!
There is nothing that gets people more wet then rain during an f1 race.
This race is a Rain out of 10. For finally having a rainy race that we've been waiting for so long.
German gp in a nutshell: I go from zero to a hundred real quick
Rain... I remember a Monaco GP that was so wet, and so many safety cars that it ended on time. Kinda lost track that its been a long time since F1 has run in a true rain.
Mechanic:box box box
Seb:no out out out!
Mechanic:IN IN IN IN IN IN IN IN
Mechanic:Ok stay out then!
I rate the strategists that were responsible for inter and wet tyres changes: 5 out of 20 inter tyre; and i rate the race: 15 out of 20 soft tyres.
The moment Vettel crashed: Matt's happiest moment
I was expecting a gif for Bottas' crazy pit stop that took forever. Craziness.
Whenever Renault has issues everyone always asks where Riccardo will go next year but people quicky forget how well the Honda is running in the Toro Rosso right now. Next year could be a breakthrough with Red Bull Honda.
Hey I am from germany and its so silly that it was the last race in Germany because for me it was such a nice race
8/10. rain comes and goes really spiced it up
The ones in the stands who were cheering when Vettel crashed were Verstappen "fans" sad to say. I mean I'm Dutch and I'm a fan of Max as well, but I hate that cheering when a competitor has a bad day.
Woutah2dmaX you should have seen the Mercedes grandstand...
As well as the Ferrari fans on Saturday...
But yeah it's sad...
It's ironic that the place Vettel crashed is the one place where there weren't German fans
Could you do the "race rundown" both ways? I really liked the "one word description" style too!
Yay the old race rundown is back
You know what, someone put an umbrella on the hairpin. Someone keeps gardening there.
Pls never change the Race rundown.
I won t say first half was boring, it was just chaos in midfield
10 out of 10 thats exactly what I want...
A crazy chaotic race!
did the people who thought this race was boring in the dry not watch the midfield racing? OVERTAKES EVERY FUCKING CORNER!!!!
Guys Guys Guys....... Fernando is faster than you was 2010 !!!
Lars Pawlitschko And more shit orders in 2018 cause Mercs favor the Crybaby Hamilton
