I have to say this video is a massive achievement. I was born the year Formula One started. So this almost feels like my life trajectory! One point that you might've made but didn't. In the 2007 Chinese Grand Prix, McLaren left Hamilton out a couple of laps too long before the tyre change. His tyres were completely bald and on the entry into the pit lane he slid off into the gravel and could not be pulled out. If he had continued and stayed the same place on the track he would've become champion. Because of those lost points, he lost the championship to Räikkönen by one point. When you add this to the disgraceful way the 2021 championship was stolen from him, he should have been a nine times world champion by now,
Got to that stage where i won't watch videos unless there atleast 20 mins long. This is perfect an I recommend you post more even before I've watched this all
1985 - 1992 is my favourite period in formula one, the teams, cars and driver's of that 7 year period created an atmosphere that gives me tingles to look back on.
Hope you keep enjoying F1. I have for 32 years now, and it's nice that others are getting interested now. The respectable ones are more than welcome to come along.
the '94 Season was very special and what's missing from the video is that the Benneton of Schumacher was down on power from all other cars, it had a V8 engine compared to the V10 in Hill's Williams and Ferrari's V12, what Schumacher did that year was truly outstanding in an era where there was no engine dominance over all rivals on the grid.
Yep Schumacher using his broken car to ram into Hill was truly outstanding, The fact that he was allowed to do that and still keep the championship was the final straw for me, Schumacher did a load of shady shit that would of seen any other driver stripped of points and/or banned and it was enough to make me give up on F1.

A tour de force of F1 history. Thank you for your cyclopedic knowledge of the sport. Back in 1968 I remember getting my motorcycle helmet signed by Emerson Fittipaldi when going to Kyalami on a Wednesday afternoon after school. We rode right into the pits and all the drivers were having tea. (You can’t do that today!) I asked Emerson for his autograph and he grabbed my helmet and signed it. All the other drivers ragged him by shouting “Emerson!” together. One thing I did not know was that Gunston was the first cigarette company to sponsor F1. The brand was famous in SA with all their sponsored cars painted in “Gunston Orange”. The racing Ford Capri Piranha was iconic at the time. Thanks once again!

This is an incredible summary of F1 history. Really, really well done! thank you for making and posting this. As a tip to get more people to see this, you could divide it in to separate video's for each 'era'. Not everyone goes and watch a 3 hour long (amazing) documentary about F1 history. By making it more like episodes maybe more people would want to watch this. I think this is almost mandatory for all F1 fans. Again, really wel done, and thank you.
Each usual driver and racing driver have their own ways of having mono as car of any type ,kind and sort and the driver in one.The best one may enter the history.
Dude, this is absolutely astonishing. Thank you for your hard work and effort. I’m a long haul semi truck driver and this is making my day much more bearable.
My first grand prix visit was in '82 i've been to many gp's al across Europe, 80's 90's early 00 were fantastic but they slowley took the heart and soul out off the sport. And sold it to Liberty Media was the the biggest mistake in f1 history, have fun but i have quit
Excellent video, but one clarification. It is not a "combustion engine" but an "internal combustion engine." The combustion occurs inside the cylinders unlike in the steam engine, where the fuel/air mixture is combusted outside the cylinders, with the steam piped into the cylinders to convert the heat into motion.
Awesome summary of the F1 history, respect!! The only thing I found missing is any mention of the COOPER brand, which were afterall F1 world champions in '59 and '60!?
Incredible, the effort it took you to do all this deserves more than a sub and a like but it's the least one can do, thank you for such an amazing and complete video.
Excellent video, thank you for the hard work. As a long time fan of the sport , there are still many snippets of information i wasn't aware of. For example the fact Lancia passed their knowledge and engines to Ferrari when they left F1... Really very interesting
Even Michael Schumacher said Ayrton Senna is the greatest Formula 1 driver of all-time. So have Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Mika Hakkinen. In a driver’s poll conducted in 2004 Senna was resoundingly chosen as number 1.
Great video. I've only been watching F1 since the last part of 2020. I don't even really have a team I support right now, but I'm excited to see Audi on the grid. Great to see the history of F1 and after watching Drive to Survive and the Brawn GP show, I feel like I have some knowledge of F1 now. I'm mad I missed the V10 times. I wish F1 would ditch electrification and let the teams develop more high revving ICE's.
I started watching F1 in 1984, and I watched virtually every race live on television until the end of the 1996 season. The 1980's was my favourite decade of F1. Along with the very early 1990's. I must admit that I don't watch F1 now. Its gotten too technical for my liking, and it seems like the safety car is being deployed every 5 minutes. There's certainly no race without it being used nowadays. Along with ridiculous penalties and rules.
The man with the white hat and mustache behind Ascari at 14:14 is my grandfather Tino Martinoli. He was a mechanic on Ferrari’s racing team. So cool to have him immortalized in the history of this great sport.

Amazing Video & Effort/Detail !
8 minutes into the video and I'm already astunished with the amount of information and pictures /footage acquired for this video. 😮
Now this is awesome! This is the content at least I want to see from you guys, great job!
This is so comprehensive! Strong work.
This video is a real accomplishment, nice work!
Great documentary! Nevertheless, the GPT syntax is very notable and sometimes it's too distracting 😅
Very impressive video, thank you for taking the time and effort to make this.
Thank you for sharing this video for free. Keep up the good quality work!
This video was absolutely amazing. Learned so much and got to revisit the glory years of the 90s by watching it. Well done.
Each usual driver and racing driver have their own ways of having mono as car of any type ,kind and sort and the driver in one.The best one may enter the history.
Watch the quick and the dead, one of the best films about F1 ever.
Dude, this is absolutely astonishing. Thank you for your hard work and effort. I’m a long haul semi truck driver and this is making my day much more bearable.
It really isn’t
My first grand prix visit was in '82 i've been to many gp's al across Europe, 80's 90's early 00 were fantastic but they slowley took the heart and soul out off the sport. And sold it to Liberty Media was the the biggest mistake in f1 history, have fun but i have quit
Phenomenal video, one of the best and most informative I've ever seen on youtube. Thank you.
Good stuff , leaving some support
What a brilliant watch. Thoroughly enjoyed it 👏
I woke up to this documentary what a documentary brah this is epic
Excellent video, but one clarification. It is not a "combustion engine" but an "internal combustion engine." The combustion occurs inside the cylinders unlike in the steam engine, where the fuel/air mixture is combusted outside the cylinders, with the steam piped into the cylinders to convert the heat into motion.
Awesome summary of the F1 history, respect!! The only thing I found missing is any mention of the COOPER brand, which were afterall F1 world champions in '59 and '60!?
This is so well done! Merry Christmas! 🎄
Priceless time capsule! Thank you.
Incredible, the effort it took you to do all this deserves more than a sub and a like but it's the least one can do, thank you for such an amazing and complete video.
Think I've rewatched this 2 or 3 times now, simply amazing
It really isn’t
How lucky are we today that we don’t really have to worry about our favorite drivers dying every two weeks
Thanks chatGPT, very cool.
This was great!
Excellent video, thank you for the hard work. As a long time fan of the sport , there are still many snippets of information i wasn't aware of. For example the fact Lancia passed their knowledge and engines to Ferrari when they left F1... Really very interesting
Outstanding video!!!.... Respect to all involved. Thanks
Excellent video. Thank you for all of your hard work putting it together
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video
Feels unreal to be able to watch this for free. Absolute banger of a video.
What a find for a bit of Sunday viewing 👀
Wow it's amazing all the effort and work put in this!❤❤
Merry Christmas!! We hope you like it! :-)
Watch the 1998 - 2008 seasons. There's quite a few on UA-cam. Enjoy. 🤘😎🤘
What a great listen.
They should just continue adding on to this video as the years go by
What a piece of work! Wow, congratulations. Spreading the word!
Great video!😊
As a big rally fan thank you for this video ❤
Should be a great watch. Merry Christmas!
