08-04-2024 Fort Worth, TX - 1 critical in major on I-30

At 8:19pm Fort Worth 911 received calls about a multiple car accident on West bound I-30 near Green Oaks that was blocking all of the lanes of traffic. When officers arrived they found 4 vehicles involved in an accident with 1 of them, a pick up, in the ditch between the main lanes and the service road. Fort Worth Fire had to extricate 1 patient who was in critical condition from the truck. During the investigation officers learned that the truck had been driving erratically just before the crash when it lost control, hit 2 vehicles, went over the gaurd rail and stopped in the ditch. The driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. At this time there is no further update on the drivers condition or if any charges are expected. The highway was closed for roughly 3 hours as FWPD's TIU detectives investigated.
