I did these for my senior prom! I used a white canvas shoe, silver glitter, shiny finish mod podge, clear finishing spray, sticker rhinestones, and the E-600. Unlike the video I found it took me 6-8 coats. The finer the glitter (and the less glitter in the fixture) the more coats you will need. Bigger glitter peaces make it easier, but I believe they aren't as pretty as the fine glitter. Over time the shoe will get cracked and glitter will fall off! to fix this you just add another coat to fix it.

Mod Podge is an awful product , you should use fabric glue for glitter. No fallout, not a single particle, and no cracking!
Fabric paint is better than Mod Podge or fabric glue. It flexes with the shoe much better.

You could also use a bit of Museum Wax. It is great. It will also hold taper candles in place.

if I were to do this to only the rubber part at the bottom of the shoe, would it stay and not chip? I used nail polish and it cracked and fell off after one time and minimal walking. would the glitter and modpodge make it last longer?

To get a new color on your sole or midsole (rubber/plastic sides) use leather dye. First wipe down with acetone/cotton ball. Then dye. (If you think glitter is messy 😳, dye is like water. It gets on everything & deeply stains. It sinks in, stays flex.

So mod podge isn't normally waterproof. Do you just leave them and not get them wet, or do you seal them with something?
Lita Hagmeier You can use a water repellent spray that you use on cloth/suede/leather shoes. You can get it nearly anywhere they sell shoes. Use it every time they have been exposed to water (after they dry of course).

Any color shoes and any color glitter.
+Melissa W any color works but it is easier to paint a shoe that is the same color as the glitter because it is harder to tell when glitter comes off.
What is best? Canvas or cloth for the glitter to hold on best or longer?
