Thank you for sharing this. Just finished the 2nd coat of my daughters prom shoes and while it wasn't as easy as it looked it turned out even more amazing than we had hoped. Now she has the perfect shoes to go with her dress and for a reasonable cost.

I just glittered my heels following your advice, it turned out fab. Thanks. Btw I used Feviciol glue instead of mod podge and it's a great substitute for anyone wondering.

I've seen other videos on how to do this and yours was the best. I'm definitely going to try this. Its hard for me to find my size and when I do, for the price, they want an arm and a leg. It's a lot cheaper to make my own. Thanks so much for the tutorial.

i personally havent tried Elmers glue. I use Modpodge for almost all my DIY's. With Modpodge I havent had a problem with the glitter coming off. To prevent glitter fall out i wait for the entire shoe to dry and then i put one more layer of modpodge on the top. Works pretty well. Havent had a problem with it :) Good luck.

I am doing this and it is great. I'm very thankful to have found your video. I'd like to add to the to do list if you don't mind. Mog podge will come off when it gets to wet. So to prevent that i am using a spar urethane spray to lock the glitter in and prevent cracks or wetness killing my vibe. Clear gloss is the one. Just something I learned I figured I'd share.

just remember ladies when you use modge podge on a shoe you must take sandpaper to your shoe for the Mod Podge to adhere to make the glitter stick to just going to be putting layer upon layer upon layer

This is the best tutorial pretty much ever! My wedding is in just over 2 months and I have these really cute shoes but they're black and I didn't really want that colour so I used a fabric spray (they're a suede material) to lighten it to an off white/silverish grey, and was planning to then dye them purple, however I'm not perfect so it's splotchy and I'm a little worried that even the dark purple colour won't cover that. As a girl who loves glitter (I was planning to deck them out with my left over Swarovski crystals but ain't nobody got time for that) this is the perfect solution!!

Use sandpaper to make the surface of the shoe "rough". This allow the glue (mod podge) to adhere to the shoe because it has something to "hold on to". Use the sandpaper first before you do anything else. Just a light touch, like washing your hands, do not scrub the shoe!

Thank you SOOO much for this video. I am the girliest girl, love sparkly, shiny, glittery everything...especially heels! Problem is, I have huge US Women's size 12 feet so I can never find cute shoes in my size, either in store or online...unless I want to pay an arm and a leg for them. Since I am cheap/broke all the time this is not an option. This sucked because I really need some yellow gold heels for 2 outfits I have. However I just came up on clearance sale from Payless for some BOGO peep toe pumps like yours (except they are plain white canvas) for $15 total...in my size! Yay! I got 4 pair and now I will be able to sexy them up without breaking the bank. Now I want to go buy 10 more pair so I can make various colors! And I can do this with any pair of heels...even some ugly ones...and make them exactly what I need them to be! Thanks again!

you will need fabric glue, a different type to hold well onto fabric. you can buy at any craft store (I.e. JoAnn's, Michael's, hobby lobby) or Walmart has some too (in the craft section). It's a lot stronger and won't peel off your fabric. Look up: how to glitter fabrics on UA-cam. There might be a few tutorials. good luck.

PVA isn’t usually used as a sealer because it doesn’t dry quite as thick as Mod lodge. So you can use PVA to glue the glitter to your shoes, if you have Elmers glue... try that as a sealer. Hope that helps :)
