BG3 got me with the options. Holy Hell! They nearly thought of everything. I see what you mean about the frame shutters. My Ryzen 5 3600 is about to hate me. 😂
It's very likely that the game doesn't take usage of the threads that are attached to "virtual cores" and only uses physical cores. Great review as always.
Love your work on these vids Alex 👍👍 Looks like it's only using 8 threads, and of those, 4 are effectively the "real" ones in use. Those frametime stutters will likely be sorted out if they get the game threading over all 8 cores and 16 threads. Just another game on an engine that has DX11 at it's heart (that's my bet anyway). If you have proper thread balancing, you wouldn't see any of the cores go over 40-50%. Anyway, hopefully they have time now that it's released to focus on getting the CPU side sorted out. Seeing your AB info, it's very much like APT:Requiem was at launch, and Gothem Knights etc... classic CPU bottleneck scenario.
It's a PC port idiots keep saying. This is why games are sucking on PC. The game devs know how dumb PC players are. Ain't saying console players are any better but at least games run better on console. Come argue with me when it comes to every PC game since fucking ever!

Definitely game of the year so far. It will have competition with tears of the kingdom and we will have to see if it has much competition with Starfield, but honestly those are the only two that I would be worried about trumping this game Zelda, just because it's Zelda, and Starfield is the one that does actually have the potential to be just that amazing
As long as the performance is the same at least as the early version for the steam deck I will be good. I have an rig but don't get much time to play on it
This may be just from a guy who's played Star Citizen a lot engine also played on the switch a lot before moving to the steam deck, but I've had a pretty good experience so far in the game. If this was an FPS or like a Souls type game I would be more inclined to agree with you to play elsewhere, but since the movement in this game is a lot more relaxed, I would say it's perfectly acceptable on the steam deck. Not amazing but I don't think it's bad enough to where you should feel the need to play it elsewhere. Not to mention long games like this are perfect for the steam deck because you can just get in a little bit of time whenever you can
Vulkan is better for AMD, DX11 is better for Intel/Nvidia setups like I have. Flawless performance for me personally on 1080p, fps is usually above 90. Running i7-5820k, RTX 2080, 32GB RAM. Not bad IMO.

Gpu utilisation 100% cpu 20 to 30% (AMD 5800X3D). I never played a game where all cores where utilised fully and evenly so not sure what hes on about.

DLSS is in the game, i have it off though with DLAA on for the AA. That being said it doesn't seem to perform very well at native res on Nvidia GPUs, you're getting double the frames i get on my 4070 Ti.
Great game but on a i5 7400 + RX580 it's rough. Avg 25-40fps in almost any graphics setting and FSR1 implementation is bad..? Vulkan likes to crash the game or refuse to load a new area when loaded. Hey I've noticed that in most of these port reviews you point out how work is divided unequally among cpu threads , just wanted to clear out some things. Firstly one core needs to schedule tasks to different threads or work groups , however it may be laid out in the codebase . Second , there are some things like game logic that cant be parallelized any further and needs to be synchronous or needs to be synced by one single thread if some parts of it are handled asynchronously so making use of all cpu threads equally is very hard or maybe impossible in these symmetric system so can you maybe little less harsh on the criticism of CPU usage .
