I figured out that if someone's game of the year ISN'T BG3, they probably just didn't play it yet

DOS2 moved BG1 from top spot which I thought imposible at the time and then BG3 comes out and "Wayne Gretzky's" the crap out all games on my lifes top 10.

Borislav Slavov has his own youtube channel where he posts a lot of the music in different variations. Check it out, it has the night song extended version you liked.

Wow. 😮 It's taken the place of your favourite game of all time too now! Now, time to start my second playthrough of this video - or should I say love letter to the game! You've done a great job of encapsulating what makes this game so unique. I found myself agreeing with lots of the points you made. And when I was rudely interrupted watching this to go read with my son, I found that as soon as we finished reading I was humming one of the themes, and drawn straight back to your review. The music and the world is just so enthralling, the combat so free, and the depth of content so vast that it is a living, breathing world, and a world that is sometimes more appealing than the one we live in. And you can't ask for more than that!

Yeah! It's a piece of magic! Did you enjoy the intro? 😅 Getting that idea is what triggered me to write the whole thing

Yes, Galadriel would fit into the BG3 world perfectly! Also love the bit at 1:28 ❤

@neil_j yeah that was also part of the bit 😅 just had to add some context in-between 🤣 very happy with the balance of jokes and silliness Vs proper reviewing actually

@@DadPlaysGames Yep, and that's again true to the game. Some of the lines in the game just make me burst out into laughter. If it took itself too seriously (see Starfield) it wouldn't have the same charm.

Well presented and interesting video. Thanks for posting.
I get amazed whenever I watch videos on BG3 just how much I have missed in my own 200+ hour playthrough and still I've not finished act 3. I completely missed the whole Underdark for example, but the thing is the game just let me. No penalty as such, just a whole new area to explore in my next play through.
Also this is the first time in a game where I felt completely at ease just accepting the dice rolls. Normally I play games and try to always get positive outcomes. In this game I never felt the need to as I knew the game would accommodate any failure I inflicted upon myself.
The game is truly an incredible achievement in the gaming world and deserves every praise it has received.

Sounds to me like you play the game in the best way possible 😊 By letting each playthrough be its own story, and fine with skipping over content, you'll get more satisfaction from the ones to come for sure 🥰

The world and lore has been built on since the late 60s or 80s depending on how you want to count it 🤯 decades of work behind the lore 😍

I just finished my first playthrough this last weekend and it was so satisfying! I did a high elf bard with an Astarion romance and even though I accidentally skipped the entire underdark I felt really good about everything that happened and think I'd be hard pressed to do a better playthrough.
Still... I wanna see what wild magic sorcerers and archfey warlocks got going on and I simply must romance everyone

Not if at the end of act 2 I turn it off and delete the game for its terrible writing and choices.

    • @DadPlaysGames
      @DadPlaysGames  10 місяців тому +4

To each their own I guess. I found the end of act 2 to be quite engaging. Binged it into 3am on a weekday IRC (and had zero regrets the morning after).
But also, I'd say it's also about the journey, not the end. Did you have fun on the way there?

1.Your play through could’ve been bugged. Not sure what happened in your case but I know some people were seeing some dialogue that didn’t make sense depending on the sequence they completed certain quests.
2.Also a lot of your experience is dependent on YOUR own choices soooo… maybe that’s on you?
