      @@WorkingWithWimberley just finished, was a little harder than I though. The nut that goes on top of the last washer didn't want to catch on the bolt due to it being a real tight fit. Had to grind the orginal ones off due to some rust. Thanks again for the video.

    So it's not necessary to load the suspension when tightening these down? i'm a bit confused about which components can be tightened from anywhere and which components need to be tightened at "ride height"

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  Рік тому +2

      I’ve seen guys say it’s necessary and some say it’s not. I’ve never had an issue tightening end links while the car is jacked up, but I always tighten upper and lower control arms at ride height.

    Nice informative vid!
    I was wondering did you experience improvement in handling of the car?
    The stock sway bar looked pretty thick. I thought maybe you would upgrade the sway bar as well.
    I know if you upgrade both front and rear sway bars you will get improved handling on your turns. As well as gripping the ground better in accelerating.

      Thank you! I didn’t notice a difference. This was a precautionary job. I just wanted to replace some of the ball joints and bushings because I had just purchased the car. The Fleetwoods have a really soft suspension and they have a lot of body roll in the turns. That’s actually one of the things I like about the car. If I had an Impala SS, I might upgrade the sway bars and end links. But since I have the Fleetwood, I’m not going to do an upgrade. These cars were made to be comfortable, not for performance. I just cruise and drive slow in the Fleetwood lol!

    Great video. Question I have rubbing signs on both sides of the front sway bar from my tire is that normal? Or my sway bar links are bad? They rub when the wheel is completely turned?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  2 роки тому

      That’s not normal if you have the stock wheels and tire size. If you’re running a different tire size, that can happen. I’ve never had bad end links cause rubbing, but I can’t say for sure that it’s not possible.

    Is the 1994 Chevy Impala sway bar itself the same as the sway bar on a 1994 Cadillac fleetwood? Need new one for my 93 fleetwood but can’t find one

  • @derfderf5611

    Hey bro question I'm not sure if it's my sway bar or hub bearing when I hit bumps I hear a rattle sound like seems like it's from the frontend passenger and if I turn to hard you get that thunk sound and feel in the car

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  Рік тому +1

      I wouldn’t think it’s a bearing. I usually hear a constant rumbling noise with a bad bearing. It could be any part of the steering/suspension though. Outer tie rod, inner tie rod, sway bar link, center link. It could be any of that.

      I installed aftermarket tubular control arms & they’re supposed to be compatible with my OEM sway bar. After installation, they just seem slightly diagonal & not aligned horizontally straight. Not sure why, but are they slightly at an angle? It’s not that noticeable but I can tell they are. 🤷🏾‍♂️
