    I'm the best car repair person out there. I changed a blown head gasket using just a butter knife and a fork!

      Wow! That’s impressive! Can you explain in detail exactly how you did that?

      I’ve only had minor repairs since I’ve had my Fleetwood. I am having a misfire issue at the moment. I’ll be doing plugs and wires to see if that solves it.

      Doing the wires is pretty tough. Most people go through the wheel well instead of up in the engine bay. The issue is that there is barely enough room for the tools and your hands. There’s no room for a camera. I couldn’t figure out a way to show what I was doing. It’s just too tight. GM didn’t do us any favors with the way they designed the ignition system on the LT1.

      Your supposed to lift your car Up , take both wheels off , and change them through the gap of your wheelwells, it’s a tight job and need certain tool for the ratchet, I changed them in my 95 Impala SS

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  5 років тому +1

      I’ve actually cleaned the LT1 a few times. I’ve read that if you get the optispark wet, you can damage it. But I haven’t had any issues. I just sprayed the engine down with soap and rinsed it off with a hose.

    Good vid. What's the reason for pouring a little oil inside the new filter? @2:56

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! Putting oil in the filter is optional. It’s fine if you don’t do it. I like to do it to get oil pumping through the motor a little quicker.

  • @vitjuha96

    good one, but isnt it wise to lift it down to let the old oil completely flow down, and then lift up again, and do the rest?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  5 років тому

      Yes, it would be wise to do that.

      @@WorkingWithWimberley just did oil change on my 95 caprice 4.3 l99 (Baby lt1), i think it was like 0.4l extra poured out when i did lift vehicle down, so it is not that much neccessary, but easy and good thing to do.

    Can you take the engin oil pan without taking off any thing from the chasi or the frame ?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  4 роки тому +1

      I’m not sure. I haven’t removed the oil pan from my LT1. I’d check in the Chevy forums for that one.

      I have no plans on removing my oil pan. You should check the Chevy forums for information on that job.

    So Full Synthetic oil is ok to use in a LT1 engine

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  4 роки тому

      Yes full synthetic is ok to use in a LT1. If you don’t want to use full synthetic, you can use conventional or a blend. It’s really up to you.
