How I wish every motorsport series I love had a John Doonan running it. Someone who truly loves the sport and understands it and most importantly is a fan first
John Doonan is one smart guy. Through the Camel GT series, ownership ups and downs, the Lemans series and now the IMSA renaissance, I have been a fan through out. Thank you Marshall for your love of the sport and commitment to good journalism. And thank you John for your leadership and stewardship of this special racing series. Next? Maybe WEC partnering with us. It would only enhance their brand.
3 years ago I randomly had a sim racing video pop up on my UA-cam feed. It looked so real took me 5 mins before I even realized the driver was not in a race car. I took the plunge and built a top n rig for myself and started iracing GT3 and GTP cars which lead me to watching IMSA. I truly love it!! Best racing on earth, now I need to go to a race weekend asap. 🎉
Can we get an actual reporter other than Pruett doing these? IMSA needs to invest in a media team like WEC/F1 and do this properly as their marketing stinks. Indy was empty in the stands. I rarely see marketing for them and reliance on NBC or UA-cam is minimal impact. They should be streaming across all social media platforms as much as possible. Grids are great, but butts in seats = success.
