      @@yascaradb4257 haha I think I'm getting better at it now. If you wanna change the time, be flexible with the hours. So for a week or two get 1-2 more hours of sleep by going to bed extra early. You're slowly gonna wake up early too. Then you can cut your sleep hours a little again while maintaining your wake up time

      Wake up at the same time everyday. Like within 5 mins.
      If you're not tired, you're not tired. Go to sleep when you're tired.
      Some people need 10hrs of sleep, some need 4-6 hrs. You might just be trying to force more sleeo

      @@corruptedleaf431 I tried it this morning. I got up at 8:30, not real early, but still earlier then usual. Around 10:00 is usual for me. . It helped a little but I was still sleepy. I didn't go back to bed and I got stuff done before my baby wakes up. Tomorrow I'll try for 7:30.

      1.Why did I want to wake up early in the morning back when I started waking up in the morning?
      • So I can trigger all other things I want to do in my morning routine, I mean what do you think I would do after I wake up 5 am? stare at the wall, NO ofcourse not. I prayed, worked out, did some deep work, read a few pages of a book, took time to take care of my personal hygiene, selfcare and look and feel great for the day.     It's been almost 1 solid week of waking up at 6:06am for me, after years of waking up after 10. For anyone struggling to wake up early: Don't listen to anyone in your life who is putting you down for sleeping in. Guilt will not make you an early bird. Make the change for yourself, and take it easy. Few people will understand the emotional/physical stress you're going through by just trying to get out of bed, but you are not alone. If you want to wake up earlier, you can do it. You'll be surprised by how quickly you can develop a new habit when you focus on your own well being rather than the opinions of those around you. Good luck

    For about 3 months I had the best sleep ever. I would fall asleep at around 11pm and wake up naturally, feeling fresh at 6:30am. It was beautiful.
    Then I started watching Game of Thrones.

    I love that part about maintaining 1 goal/habit you want to set per month; it was immediately what i thought about with your context leading up to it, and it feels great to hear it once again.
    Sometimes i set like 5 goals a day, without really pursueing them the next day, and i've been like this for months, maybe a couple of years *yikes*. I guess i just want to make myself happy and feel occupied.
    But lately, because i do want change, i keep finding/looking for this sort of videos without much exercise. It comes naturally. Its funny uncovering how the mind can be a magnet and your habits, even your thoughts, create circles or patterns

    That is really what did it for me. I just focused on waking up and nothing else; not to go get that new work out plan in, not to go learn that new thing. I kept it as simple as possible and I'm really loving the mornings.

    I wanted to start going to the gym on a morning rather than after work. I found getting my gym gear ready and placing it by my phone (across the room of course) helped massively! And I totally agree the more you do it the easier it gets…plus you start to miss it when you don’t do it!

      I've found that changing your alarm sound from time to time makes it easier to get up. Try changing your alarm sound and see how that works.

      Years ago I had an alarm clock and its sound was a nightmare. I became angry right away every morning - because of the sound. Then I changed it, got an alarm with nature sounds. It made a huge difference! Now on my phone I'm using the most gentle alarm. The phone is next to the bed ( of course wi-fi is off) I don't have to get up to turn it off. Still, works for me. And I'm not angry anymore in the morning.

    I have some tips to keep yourself fresh after you wake up early.
    When we wake up early, sometimes we'd feel energized at first but then feeling so sleepy just in 2 or 3 hours later. So what I did to make my body fully 'wake up' is to make my heart beats faster by just a little work out. Doesn't need to make you sweaty, the purpose is just to make your heart beating faster. I just did jumping jacks, plank, and some leg work. And it worked for me! It make me not sleepy Alhamdulillah.

    My biggest problem is that during the winter the sun is not up at 5am, I fixed this issue by getting Phillips Hue lights that automatically turn on gradually from 4:30-5am to simulate a sunrise :)

    For anyone that is in need of some assistance, I learned about this in my college class. The reason why you are tired when you get up is because of at which point in your sleep schedule you actually wake up. You sleep is divided into different parts. I won’t go into the extreme details, but it boils down to deep sleep and light sleep. If you wake up during light sleep, you will feel refreshed and ready to go. If you wake up in deep sleep however, your body will want to go back to sleep. It’s not about the time on the clock, it’s about the time in ur mind.

      I studied that these sleep cycle are of 90 min duration and occur 4 to 5 times a night.
      So you can simply calculate no. of cycles when you go to sleep and set alarm after completion of the cycle. Hope this help😇

      Anukriti Arya but the cycles don’t start at the exact same time, which means that your alarm might be slightly off depending on when the cycle actually happens. Plus, you are still going to be tired later in the day due to just pure exhaustion 👍🏼

    I am a muslim, we are obliged to wake up for fajr (dawn prayer), these days the time is between 4 and 6am, i had been struggling for few months to pray my prayer on time and the major reasons were staying up (using phone too much at night) and will power
    Even if you sleep early but don’t have the will power to get up, sleeping early won’t help, no one wants to leave that cozy bed in the morning, as matt said you need to find a solid reason i.e why do i need to wake up early/on time.

    These tips are great! Here's something I found that worked for me as a last ditch effort when all else failed: the night before when you have higher motivation levels, write down on a piece of paper the exact time you are going to wake up in the morning and then sign it with your name. Place the contract with your alarm clock on the other side of the room. I found it almost impossible to go back to bed after seeing my own signed contract to be awake at 6am. Hope that helps someone!

    The alarm away from me thing has never helped me lol. I can sleep anywhere if I’m tired enough. When I was little my parents would drag me out of bed and I would go sleep in the pile of clean laundry then be found and yelled at for missing the bus😂

      I am the walrus the real trick is to keep the alarm away from you and also get the worst and loudest noise possible. I hate the sound of my alarm so much that I get terrified of it whenever I get out of the habit of using it, and then I’m subconsciously scared of it while I’m asleep so I wake up before the alarm.

It got to the point that any sort of alarm or beeping, even in the middle of the day, would make me jump, heart racing- even if I was the one who had set the alarm! 😂😂

      I feel ya! My youngest is 2 and I've only recently been trying to get my schedule back to efficiency mode instead of survival 😜 little ones are great but they don't seem to like that 5am hustle, just the 1/3/5am boob/nap 😩 💗🙌 good luck!

    Things that I do:
    - washing my face with cold water as I don't like showering in the morning
    - starting the day with something I enjoy (to me that's a good book and a cup of tea)
    - stepping outside to breathe for a minute or two
    - taking a little walk (doesn't have to be long just to move your body a little)
    - watching the sunset
    - being creative
    - little to no screen time cause I find that it puts me in a rut and generally not a good headspace

      @@ndnrb_ There is a big increase of bacteria over night. So I think he is concerned, that if you drink water before brushing your teeth could harm your digestion. I am not sure if that is the case, but it could be something to think about. :)

    I wake up at 5:30 before I go to school and go for a run. I highly recommend you try it out for at least two days. The benefits are that you won’t be tired for the rest of the school day and you will have better focus in class. The run doesn’t have to be long, can be just a 3k. Another benefit is that you are never late to class 😊

      Hey I do this as well, also with one of my friends to keep me motivated. Or sometimes I just simply wake up early to read some books that I'm interested in before school. Morning is such a good time to pursue your passion and it feels like I'm more in control of my own life. It started off tough though, it's not easy to get used to waking up early but it definitely is a good change in pace of life.

    I’m still in school and I’ve been waking up at 5:30 for over a year now, and I’ve noticed huge changes in my health (more energy, tend to get less sick, increased awareness,...) and in my mindset (I feel I can understand more and faster at school, I’m more socially interactive (also because I have more energy) and I’m overall more confident in everything I do) but most importantly I feel better everyday. By the time I get to school I’ve been up for almost 3 hours and it’s as if it’s already the middle of the day, whereas my friends seem like total zombies the first few hours of school. I want to continue doing this because maybe it’ll inspire other people to do so as well and make their lives better.

      Isawk well i usually (on a normal school day with no tests) i go jogging for 20-30 minutes, take a shower, then if I have any I do my homework then, or catch up on some reading whilst drinking some tea. At this time I really feel like I’m alone and it’s a really relaxing feeling.

      Literally watching this vid bc my newborn wakes up every morning at 5 for another feed-to-sleep, then toddler wakes me up by 8 giving me no real chance to fall back asleep. Figured I might as well try to roll with it and see if I can just stay up and get something done besides tossing and turning, trying in vain to get five more mins of sleep in.

    I can relate to the first one so much! I always wake up at like 7:00 AM even though I need to leave the house at 7:25 AM but when I slept at a friends house and we tried to do something exciting for us, pretty early in the morning I managed to wake up at 4:00 AM without any problems lol

    I watched this after setting multiple 7am alarms & Alexa’s 6am alarms. I’ve been doing this since high school and I’m 21 in college now. Lowkey hate that in always motivated to do everything the night before and have set goals but yesterday I wrote it down. I thought about my cerebellum telling her to wake up and start planning and I remembered I wrote it down in my notebook last night. Then I looked at it and I woke up too late to do anything like eat or stretch (yoga). And just the feeling & remembering that today made me look at this video & its 8:47am which I usually get up at 10am or later so I’m off to a better start. I like what he said at the end 12 new habits by the end of the year. I guess I’ll just focus on one now that I’ve added yoga (was added last week) & going to the gym 3/7 days in the week (gym was added a year ago).
