Thank you _so_ much for this video. It was in _no_ way boring - on the contrary, it was nice to see someone with your skills and knowledge to examine each component and explain what it does and how it works :)
@@mysticalgames9741 ok actually my bad. My brain mistook Geek Fix as the company that made the modifications that Bethesda had on their site to modify your Pip-Boy, but that’s a completely different company name, I actually wasn’t aware that Geek Fix was a channel until I just checked, I’ll give that a watch soon. Sorry about that.
Same I dont know what to do now and the top part with the button on mine was broken when I got it, it won't stay on the bolt because one of the holes is broken open
It took me roughly an hour to assemble mine, I ditched the latch and used a leather punch and added buttons that snap together for a better fit, your video did help me assembly everything, I wish there was more detail onto witch screws to use and more detail on how to install things. I did assemble the second half separately and than married them together.
If it wasn’t for this video I would’ve never put this thing together. It was a pain in the a** but I was happy with the end result. Got it for Christmas, finally built it. Thanks man!
Thanks for making this. I built my kit along while watching your video and it helped to clear up some things as the instructions it came with were not so great. You made it less frusterating than it would have been.
I like how you did a full length video instead of a time lapse or something this is really cool. When I build mine I might fill in the unnecessary seems and screw holes when I do the repaint.
Thanks for the video. I appreciate your honesty and you just let us know what you're thinking. I just bought this last Friday and hope to get started on it soon. Obviously it's not as nice of a quality as your custom Pip-Boy 3000, but it does look pretty nice. I have a small LED screen that you can video onto so I thought I might do a custom Pip-Boy 2000 with an animated screen, a Bluetooth speaker for the radio, and a different color theme instead of the army green. Enjoyed your video... have a good one!
I was following this until I got to the radio. I couldn’t find the plastic and I’ve been looking for man hour. I messaged the company, hopefully they’re able to send me another one
While doing the part at 18:20, sadly the little green piece shot off when I was putting the spring in with the button 😩 the green piece is now missing…does anyone know what I can do?
Do you have any advice on removing screws? I only have the screwdrivers that came with the kit and the 6 mm screws don’t seem to go in all the way and sometimes I can’t unscrew them, so now they’re stuck
Thanks! this video really helped me, other vids i tried to watch just go "look here at brain melting cancer picture, now look at the finished product" and they still managed to be as long as this video. atleast yours actually showed me what parts i needed and how they fit together (and how the stickers go and all that) i got sad when i did the same thing with the cuff brackets... and then felt better when i saw i also put the velcros wrong too XD
@@ZapWizard idk why I didn't get a notification of your message, but THANK YOU!! I needed the measurement for a pip boy raspberry pi project. Thanks a lot.
Very great build video! I found this kit to be quite obnoxious and tedious to build at times. The process was made that much more difficult by the included instruction booklet. Did you also find some of the diagrams to be confusing? I ended up using the instructions on their website instead. Also, The easiest way I found to solve the latch issue was to fold the strap inside the latch before screwing it together. It's a decent product though for something that is mass produced. My only real gripe is the Holotape deck. It's super cumbersome to open and close with one hand. The game makes it look so much easier lol. I started modding mine the other day if you'd like to check it out. ua-cam.com/video/Wy_IHgJALmI/v-deo.html
unfortunately my controller has some sort of problem where it makes me look up and that is hard when you are trying to crack safes but im gonna get a new one soon
Nice video but the middle piece on mine broke. I tried to unscrew one broken screw and i tried everything. The middle pice broke, i just threw it away in the trash. This happened like 1 hour ago. I suck at building stuff. Not my forte
@@ZapWizard And how did you get the monitor taken apart? I'd like to be able to take the black part of the monitor off without breaking any of the plastic.
I just got mine a couple days ago and this helped me put it together better than the instructions. I definitely agree that the buckle is a stupid ass design. It looks like they may have changed it for the pre-assembled version assuming the manual for it is correct. They must have realized how fucking stupid and inaccurate the buckle was.
It was a bit easier building this watching this video since the instructions sucked. Could hardly tell what part I was looking when it was all black and white all in the wrong places. Also made me feel less bad when I could not pop the first wristband into place with all the black cheap plastic.
Joshua Driggs sorry to bug you with the questions. I just wanted to know if it was possible to put a small computer like that in the kit. I wanted to make it into a smart watch kinda like one of those pebble watches or something like that.
Joshua Driggs I have thought about making an extra piece so it could house a raspberry pi zero and I could feed the wires through to the knobs and buttons.
Tio, si te equivocas en el minuto 35:00, pues edita el video, haz un corte o algo. Esos enganches son fragiles, y por haberte equivocado, a todos los que lo estan montando viendo tu video a la vez que tu, les has hecho un buen lio. Ahora tengo 4 enganches rotos.
Thanks for the help, but stop showing off. We're not here to hear about how much better yours is or anything about your pip-boy. We're here for the replica from The Wand Co...
This helped me make mine! I got stuck on so many parts because the instructions SUCK, thanks!

Your Geek Fix already did.
@@mysticalgames9741barely. I’m talking as functional as it is in game.

I can’t get the screen off to attach the vinyl screen thing
We made the same mistake with putting the main cuff on! I was so mad at myself when I realized I had it on the wrong way around.
two years later, i just realized thats why my cuff kept coming undone!

I think that's the dust on those circles, as seen in 76, the pipboy in 76 is filthy compared to fallout 4's oddly
does it take your blood pressure?
No, but since it is an arm cuff, that would be possible but the mechanics would take up as much space as the Pip-Boy.
19:30
Man screwing wires in made me wish for those work benches that magicaly take seconds to build things.
6:13 “idk what this effect is or what’s up with the circles ha ha” maybe it’s the water u sprayed on there? Never seen that method before 😂😅
Applying vinyl with slightly soapy water is exactly how the professionals drive out air bubbles. The circles are due to a cheap printing job.

Joshua Driggs so a raspberry pi zero then?
Joshua Driggs and I’m talking about for the fallout 76 pip boy
Joshua Driggs and what compute module are you using? Was it a raspberry pi?

Boring? This is helpful
Great video! But could really go without all the referring back to your version
Agreed
I can’t find oneeee !!!
why does the 'screen' say Albert?
It’s a reference to the first game, one of the preset characters names was Albert the only reason I know is because I used Albert as my character lol
