I was at college with one of the girls and years later a friend of mine in Nashville played on her records and taught Cyndi how to play mountain dulcimer.
She is a miracle! Who in the world can do that with their voice? In 300 years, every girl in the universe will still be singing this song. She went on to sing so many hits with her unique voice and style. Listen to 'Time After Time' and 'True Colors' and on and on. I saw her in concert 3 times and she can rock the frickin house! She is one for the ages!
This song is eternally stuck in my head. I'm pushing 50 now and ever since this song came out, in my occupation, grocery/retail, there is always music playing and I've had to hear this song at least once a day, every day since I've been a working man at the age of 16 in the late 80's; thing is that I'm not sick of at after all these years.
Cyndi's great. She's got an incredible voice and so many hits in the 80s. I always loved how she was willing to have fun with everything and never took her self too seriously. She'd appear on the WWF a number of times. Who else would do that back then in her position?? She's a ton of fun. And while I'm not a big fashion guy, the fact that 40 years later there's a bunch of girls walking around looking like Cyndi, probably without even realizing it, is something pretty special.
I was a teenager in the 80s and MTV made artists like Cyndi known and entertained the hell out of the youngins! Thanks for the walk down classic MTV video lane! You guys rock!
She shook up the world in 83 with her LOOK ( clothing - hair - make-up) but she put out sum great music. All Through the night is her best........... imo.
Cyndi is known for her pop songs, but she have few rock songs & even been nominated for best rock performances. Money Changes Everything was the 5th single of her debut album, music video for this song is a live rock performance, awesome performance, Cyndi goes wild!
🤣 when this song pops on the radio I roll up the windows and turn it louder. But When I was growing up she was easy on the eyes and she had a great voice....Lmao
I can remember the first time I heard this song. I was eating a bow of cereal getting ready to go to school when it came on the local station. Back in the day when you couldn't just pull it up to hear it again. Had to wait until it came back around in the rotation.
You guys should be grateful that "Girls just wanna have fun." All it took was one viewing and we all fell for Cyndi. I was 29 when this was released. Music like this helped me get through a 5-year battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma. "It's My Life" by Talk Talk (1984) is another booster shot that, even now at 68, still gives me joy, hope and strength. PS: My family calls you three "The Bopping Heads," a name that stuck immediately. Keep going...you're doing good!!
I am a 70s Hard Rock guy if you do not understand how good this woman is, (I hate Madonna, but this was my scratch). She sang with the Blue Angels (I'm Gonna be Strong) before this, she has more range than most people understand, they get caught up in this song and never listen to her range in other songs. She is very very talented, my niche is Heavy Metal, but this woman is damned good, try her other songs, True Colors, Money Changes Everything, Time After Time, All through the Night, or When you were Mine or the one mentioned with the Blue Angels.
I knew the fact about her vocal being damaged harshly and a professional vocal teacher helped her to recover it, so I was wondering if Ryan is going to mention it. So great that your channel focuses on those little details as it makes it so valuable to the music. Not a fan of Lauper but I respect her.
Just found this video. Just found you guys. Loved your reaction...so, I hit subscribe! (that young guy in the tux at the end with the flowers was Steve Forbert..great talent in his own right, who I had a HUGE crush on back then.) Anyways...great reaction!
if you wan to see her rock out ... Money Changes Everything (5th single from She's So Unusual). If you want to check out her 2nd album; video for Change of Heart (everyone does True Colors, so, something different). If you want to see what she did in the 90's... Who Let in the Rain or You Don't Know or Hey Now (Girls Just Want To Have Fun).
"Oh mama dear we're not the fortunate ones" "Some boys take a beautiful girl and hide her away from the rest of the world, I wanna be the one to walk in the sun!" Yes, those lyrics get lost.
To get the real and full Cyndi experience do a review on the video of her range thru the years. Cyndi is definitely underrated in the music world for her talents
Cyndi is amazing live, even now. Listen to performances of I'm Gonna Be Strong, All Through The Night, Change of Heart, I Drove All Night, Money Changes Everything, and Boy Blue to see her true range and power. Her performance of Joni Mitchell's Carey ( at an all-star tribute to Joni) mesmerized the crowd and got a standing ovation. And, of course, True Colors will melt your heart.
The irony here is that “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” is actually a rock song, was actually written and recorded and first performed by the American artist Robert Hazard, who released the song as a single as far back as 1979.
This was from the days when a video could launch a career -- and this one did for Cyndi. Even if you didn't have MTV, there were other channels that would play videos Friday and/or Saturday night.
React to her songs Time After Time, All Through The Night, Money Changes Everything, She Bop, Goonies Are Good Enough, True Colors, Change Of Heart and I Drove All Night please.
REACTION TO MADONNA Vogue or hung up With sales of over 335 million records worldwide, Madonna is certified as the best-selling female recording artist of all time by Guinness World Records. She is the most successful female solo artist ........

@@ViewsFromThe502 Guys, can you react to Nightwish's heavier cousin, Epica? :) Do you know anything about the band? I would suggest a song from their 2003 debut album. Here it is "The Phantom Agony" ua-cam.com/video/G1YTu54A69w/v-deo.html - please do it! And then, if you think you can manage some heavier stuff, go for "Consign to Oblivion" live in Paris ua-cam.com/video/dkqyyUTCMUQ/v-deo.html
It's amazing to me how this day and age men are still scared to even admit that they might listen to a female artist like this. As if it threatens their masculinity somehow. Geez
That's her real mother in the video. The girls are also friends of hers. She's a unique person.
i know it is quite randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch newly released movies online ?
They broke the mold with her. There is only ONE Lauper! 😍
I was at college with one of the girls and years later a friend of mine in Nashville played on her records and taught Cyndi how to play mountain dulcimer.

Captain Lou Albano was a professional wrestler, and for a while, CYNDI was his RINGSIDE MANAGER!
First time I ever saw Hulk Hogan was when he escorted her to some music festival. She was a real wrestling fan.
Yep I was around when he was wrestling 🤣🤣🤣

there are songs out there that just doesn't get old ever, this is one of them😁
Watching guys bobbing your heads ,with those smiles on your faces , gave me life . Thank you so much for the endorphin rush.
They look like they're mimicking Cyndi and her girls.
Additional Cyndi Lauper 80s staples: "Time After Time," "True Colors," and "She Bop"

Haha thats about as 80s as you can get. Such a blast from the past
I was a teenager in the 80s and MTV made artists like Cyndi known and entertained the hell out of the youngins! Thanks for the walk down classic MTV video lane! You guys rock!
And she was part of "USA for Africa" with the amazing song "We Are The World" in 1985
I ain't afraid to admit I like Cyndi Lauper.
She shook up the world in 83 with her LOOK ( clothing - hair - make-up) but she put out sum great music. All Through the night is her best........... imo.

Recently, in an interview for her farewell tour, she said she has the voice of a trumpet.
You just don’t know what you missed on MTV 😂🔥❤️

Falou tudo e mais um pouco 🤘👍
I hadn't seen this video since it came out! Fun trip down memory lane...
Thanks so much for covering Cyndi ❤️
Oh Hell Yes!!! Our Anthem!!!!
The 502 just wants to have fun. You guys are growing on me FAST. Keep up the fun.

80’s and 90’s music was the best
Just found this video. Just found you guys. Loved your reaction...so, I hit subscribe! (that young guy in the tux at the end with the flowers was Steve Forbert..great talent in his own right, who I had a HUGE crush on back then.) Anyways...great reaction!
Ay, la música de los 80!!!. Se me van los pies.
I agree with the suggestion for "She Bop", but you have to watch the video as well!!
You do realize that up through the 80s it was not acceptable for a female to sit at a bar (in many regions). G'dammit-- 'Girls just want to have fun'!
In case you didn't know, this song which put Lauper on the map is a cover tune (originally sung by a guy a few years earlier).
One of my favorite songs of the 80s. Youngins need to do an 80s reaction!
Guys you missed out!!! When MTV first hit the airwaves it was awesome! We would skip school and watch MTV all day until our folks came home from work😂
if you wan to see her rock out ... Money Changes Everything (5th single from She's So Unusual). What about "I Drove All Night"?
80's Music is the best! I hear since 1996 and it's never boring
Great song to dance to great time to b alive.
JUST discovered you guys! Of course I had to subscribe immediately! I, too, am from the 502!!! Hello from the south end!!
Don't muss the fact that she won a Tony award for composing the music for the Broadway musical Kinky Boots....
and she's in the WWE hall of fame.
People always forget to mention shes won a grammy , emmy, and a tony.
Very unexpected. Great song. Love it.
Love this song ! 80’s was great
It's okay. We cannot listen to Nightwish all the time.
"Who's the conehead?" Dan aykroyd himself who was hanging around the studio and they asked if he wanted to be in the video.
Girls just want to have fun é um hino imortal insubstituível forever Cyndi lauper rainha ❤😍🤩😋😊😄😅

Y'all should compare Cyndi Lauper vocal in 90s 2000s2010sand 2020
It's like watching Mystery Theater 3000.
the song was written by Prince
Cyndi Lauper/She Bop
She's one of the most talented vocalist In music history.
"Oh mama dear we're not the fortunate ones"
"Some boys take a beautiful girl and hide her away from the rest of the world, I wanna be the one to walk in the sun!" Yes, those lyrics get lost.
The 80's had "friendly Rivalry" Male artists Michael Jackson vs. Prince. Female artists Madonna vs. Cyndi Lauper.
Cyndi always was the superior singer between the two, but Madonna was the better marketer of herself in the business and had a solid melodic voice.
The phone is not upside down it is on its base. It has it be hung up on the base in order to ring when someone calls.
One of the greatest song of all time
one of my favorite artist and I'm a young black man
To get the real and full Cyndi experience do a review on the video of her range thru the years. Cyndi is definitely underrated in the music world for her talents
I just realized that she has the evil doll Annabelle in her room 😂
You should check out time after time. It's the sensitive side of Cyndi.
Cyndi is amazing live, even now. Her performance of Joni Mitchell's Carey ( at an all-star tribute to Joni) mesmerized the crowd and got a standing ovation. And, of course, True Colors will melt your heart.
Such a cool song, so liberating. A classic!
I love this song and movie since I was young in the late 80’s
the guy with the flowers in the room yelling cyndi is singer steve forbert, btw this video has almost a billion views.
Another fun fact is that Cyndi Lauper was actually huge back in the Golden era of WWF❕❗
More staples: Change of Heart, I Drove all Night, The Goonies R Good Enough
The irony here is that “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” is actually a rock song, was actually written and recorded and first performed by the American artist Robert Hazard, who released the song as a single as far back as 1979.
When MTV was good!
This is so fun 😄❤
Cyndi only has 2 songs on The goonies soundtrack
You can do "she bop" about you know...hmm or "money changes everything".
Nick, that’s not her dad , that’s Captain Lou Albano
The dad was just waiting on her to receive that late night call so she can get caught while tryna sneak out for a party with her friends
Eternal song!!!
I ran out and bought a corset and dyed it red!
This was from the days when a video could launch a career -- and this one did for Cyndi. Even if you didn't have MTV, there were other channels that would play videos Friday and/or Saturday night.
