I played Girls Just Wanna Have Fun to my 8-year old daughter last year. It's now her favorite song. She loves the video. We sing it out loud every time we're in the car!
i have a 3-year old niece who loves that song. cyndi lauper is a goddess. i hope she appears in AEW in case wendi richter decides to fight "timeless" toni storm.

Hello. Good afternoon. My name is Brian López. Yeah, my favorite Cyndi Lauper song is "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". Its music video accompaniment has plenty of visual effects.
@@jameszimmerman3625 hahahaha! I misread your comment as I'm 1m75 (as in 1 metre 75cm), hahahahahahah! I sat there wondering what I'd missed: her age and your height?? what does it mean?? hahahahahaha! I should pay better attention.
Cyndi Lauper is my favourite part of "We Are the World." She has such a brilliant catalog and deserves all the love in the world. "True Colors," "My First Night Without You," and "Who Let in the Rain" are three songs worth your time! Go, Cyndi! ❤
Loved how she would do someone else's song better than them. Roy Orbison had a wonderful voice, but Lauper's "I Drove All Night" was the best. And that time she was in Central Park and did the Beatles "Strawberry Fields Forever!"
I went to Cher's farewell tour years ago and Cyndi opened the show. She came right into the audience up a side aisle where I was sitting. I still remember that moment!
I lived in downtown Minneapolis in 1984 and Cyndi Lauper was on fire with her music! Omg absolutely love you Cyndi, best of 80’s music! Thanks for your music…and you absolute nailed it in We Are The World!!! ♥️😘
I met her at a signing about 20 years ago, she did a free show at NYC CIty Hall Park around the time she released AT LAST. I brought my entire collection and she was nice enough to sign every copy. I cherish them to this day
I’m 52 and feel so judged when I dress how I feel. I’m a rock chick. Cyndi just gave me permission to live. She owns her personality and expresses it with every fibre of her being. Such an amazing woman. Rock on girlfriend.
I'm 51, and grew up not caring about what people thought of me because of artists like Cyndi. I'm 51, and I still dress how I want to dress. Wear my hair the way I want, and my makeup according to how I feel that day. Be yourself unapologetically. Own your look, and walk with confidence anywhere you go. Fashion is so hilarious that people will soon be wearing your look, anyway. I'm a rocker chick, too. My hair is still down to my tail bone at 51. I'm judged for my hair being so long for my age. Do you know what I did? I grew it longer. 😂
Rock gives you freedom. Women like these in the 80s showed us there were many ways to be a woman and we were meant to walk in the sun,not as an accesory to a man.🎉🎉🎉
She didn't explain (I think on purpose) why the documentary was named "Let the Canary Sing". Blue Angel's manager and contract owner sued her for big $ and the only way out for her was to declare bankruptcy; the judge granted the bankruptcy so she could move on with her career by saying ... Let the Canary Sing.
I LOVE Cindy to pieces! She's been my uplifting support for decades! God bless her! Can't wait to see her in concert and have a fantastic time as the girls wanna have fun!
That music video turns 39 today, June 6th 1985. BTW Cyndi hated the song. She stopped performing it for 17 years and it finally returned to her setlist in 2004 thankfully. One of her best.
@@mm369 She did and from 1987-2004 stopped performing it but has performed it ever since. I think she has changed her opinion on it. Even at shows she has had clips from the video playing onstage when she performed it. Hopefully it still remains in her farewell tour setlist.
We used to go see Blue Angel at the Meadowbrook in NJ. Years later I saw her in concert and still to this day it was the absolute best concert I've ever seen. And I've been to many concerts back in the day, the Stones, Bob Marley, Bonnie Raitt etc. Her voice is amazingly powerful.

"Girls Just Want To Have Fun" hit the radio when I was 10 years old. Wow, this gal sounded punchy, looked bold, and impressed me at a young age. I sang that song on the playground at school, it then followed me though years of growth, whims, experiments, and both good and bad life experiences. I'm at retirement age, and have lost loved ones along the way...but...whenever I hear Cyndi Lauper....she brings them back.
She looks so beautiful.inside and out ,..as always. I adore her.
Such an icon. I love her so much. Fond memories of her music and influence. So FUN!
True ICON of the 80's.
