Hi Paul, You need to "Expand" the ribbon. this means that the effect is basically taking full effect of the ribbon. Highlight the ribbon, Go to Object at the top bar. Then go to expand appearance. Then go and export it! Before exporting it:
you made it easier .. make straight ribbon .. then apply warp to give it shapes per your like ... great .. shortcuts shown are very useful as well ... many thanks to u.

But if you wanted a better option than CS6, I would definitely go with Illustrator CC (Creative Cloud) you pay monthly so it's cheaper than buying the whole package. But you'll have to pay monthly for a whole year. Hope this helps!

Sorry to say, but i can't do this in PS. I mean, i used to do it and everything worked perfect but now when i try to Shift Anchor point (like in 3:12) in PS CC it doesn't do the thing like shown in the video. It makes a parabola (rounded shape). So what's the issue with that?
I'm at 3:13 when you add the indent to the square on the right. Every time I try to do it, it just re-sizes the whole square. I added the anchor points. Please help!

Great tutorial! An easier faster way to make guides is to just cmd/ctrl + R for the rulers and then just drag from the rulers out to make the guides.

i was having the same issue, you have to use the white selection tool during this part and not the black selection tool
