- Most likely non educational, but possibly entertaining. Watch me struggle to fix this no start by programing a new key. 2012 Gmc Terrain purchased at auction for $900. Sold as a non running car, but I quickly realized I hit a jackpot of epic proportions from incompetency and ignorance of the auction company inspectors, dealer technicians and your mom.

Little helpful hand on the key take the one that's programmed to put it in the ignition turn on wait for the light to go out then take it out put the one you want program turn it on wait for like to go out and then start it and that should program the other key. I went through that rigmarole when my original broke as long as you have one programmed it to the car it's fairly easy to program a new key.
Appreciate the help. This car was an "all keys lost" situation. The key that came with the car didn't have an immobilizer built-in. So I was starting from scratch.
@@shedhouse7330 yeah I forgot to mention as well if it doesn't have a key you were correct on the relearn procedure you turn the new key on for ten minutes at a time three times in a row and then the light will flash and then you turn it on for 30 minutes the light will flash and then go out and then you start it and I should program the key.
@@DreamGrandDragon thanks, that makes sense. I ended up getting that process by luck. Just re trying what I thought was a single 30min key on.
