The story of how, in a world of Babylon overkill, the song slipped away from me and disappeared into the night. Luckily, it hadn’t gone too far….

Every so often a songwriter pens something that just really hits people in the heart, where it counts. 'Babylon' is without question, one of those songs. Songwriters can spend their entire career and not come close to having such a moving effect on their audience. Well done David, thank you for the memories.
I love this man
It's One Of My Favorite Songs ...Ever...I Don't Go To Concerts...I Listen To 🎶 A Song For Years....If I Feel Something Flip In My Stomach ...You Only Had To Sing It Once For Me...!..
Honestly, I got tired of Babylon myself for a long time. I would skip the track, and sometimes Please Forgive Me, because of it being overplayed and the media ignoring many of the other (and IMO better) singles. I think it took to around the release of Draw The Line that I started enjoying it again, and stopped skipping the track.
Most beautiful when just played solo.
love the acoustic version
So excited to see you in LA soon David!
I absolutely love this and one day, if my books makes it there, it shall be in
While I totally get where DG is coming from, from a fans perspective, if Im ever fortunate enough to be able to attend a live DG concert, Id feel somewhat short-changed if DG chose NOT To perform *Babylon*. or "Please Forgive Me" or "My oh My", or "Say hello, Wave Goodbye" or As Im Leaving" as they are the DG songs that resonated and still resonate with me.
Oh yes. All of those songs are my favs as well. Some other songs that I think are just as good are “The Other Side”, “Falling Down The Mountainside”, “Freedom” and “Lately”.
@@Joelster-og4pfOMG Falling down the mountainside rips my heart out every time I listen to it. Especially when the piano bit comes in. Its beautifully melancholic (I feel there's a little touch of Bowie in there + a little Nick Drake) And OMG Yes! "Lately" is another fav of mine also! Re the other 2, I was never all that taken with "The other side" or "Freedom" but Im not saying that to insult you. I think theyre both wonderful songs and lyrically they are brilliant. They just didn't do anything for me, musically :)
Epic song
Real...
💛Always Listening 💛
David Gray biggest fan me I love everything from hospital food to say hello wave goodbye
It’s such a pleasure to see another huge David Gray fan. Ever since hearing White Ladder for the first time, I’ve listened to this amazing singer-songwriter. I love every album of his. Your fav song of his?
Please play nemesis in Dublin 2022 🙌🙌💕
Please, is there any YT link for that live performance; it sounds brilliant
I'm pretty sure it is David Gray at LSO St Luke's, I'll leave a link in a second comment in case it gets deleted

Why the name Babylon? Is there an occult/masonic riddle?
