  • Follow along as I explain some of the methods I used to build and elevate this shooting box/deer blind. Some ideas are mine, some are borrowed from others. I can't wait to hunt out of it!
SORRY FOR THE SHAKING IN THE VERY BEGINNING AND END! I WASN'T AWARE UNTIL LATER ON.

    Essentially just a tree house

This is my first blind of any kind

Very nice job and design. Im 67 and started putting up enclosed elevated box blinds on my Wi farm. At my age comfort means a lot to this worn out body. Im not a believer in peeing close to my hunting spots as some people do. Been a bow hunter since age 12.

"wind storm with 100 mph+ winds"... that's called a tornado lol. Cool blind setup I'm 100% jealous!

Perfect and excellently built using whatever you have laying around. This is exactly why it’s so hard for me to throw anything away….you just never know when you might need it!

Thanks for all the ideas. Just turned 49 and I’m building my first hunting blind and your videos have helped tremendously.

Very impressive build. My uncle and I built one back in 2018 and boy did it seem to bother the deer. This season, 2022, is the first season I can honestly say the deer no longer notice it. My advice for anyone looking to do a build is, be patient with the deer population as it appears it will take a generation or 2 until the deer settle in around it.

After what I went through today freezing my ass off I think this hide a way is just perfect! Let the vegetation and scrub grow around it leaving yourself a trail to entrance and I think you'll be very pleased with what you have done. Especially with your nice feed lot.

Great build, kudos for recycling a bunch of materials and saving money! You will be VERY comfortable while hunting- hope your dad can get out, too. Cherish those memories.

Consider installing a Screech Owl nest box on the South side of your hunting blind. They will reduce the rodents and ticks in your forest area.

Nice stand. Us Texans pray for any cool breeze late November. There’s been several years I’ve hunted in shorts and no shirt out of my box blind, it gets hot here sometimes so we keep windows open nearly the whole hunting season.

What a great hunting stand. I've been wanting to build some myself and this definitely gave me some good ideas - so thanks.

Thanks for the great ideas, going to build a 6X8 blind for another hunting property in the mid-west where the weather can really get nasty, as in the recent tornados that destroyed lots of Kentucky. Prayers for the families that lost loved ones.

I've built about a dozen hunting blinds and sold them over the years. But finally building one for myself. And even after all the blinds I have built, I got new ideas from this video. Thanks alot. I will share my build when I get it finished.

Excellent blind. Hope you had a good season. I took apart the kid's playhouse and have been wanting to build something similar. I like the tie downs. The wind has been a concern. Thanks for posting.
