Two questions I had about this set have now been answered. 1. I thought the Thomas was the one that made sounds. (I now know its not.) 2. I now know the quarry loader is not very stable. Thank you for answering these. The only thing that I think could have made this set better would be adding a siding for the trucks. Great video.
I'm disappointed that every Thomas and Friends Starter Set Bachmann sells today includes Thomas. Why not include Percy, Mavis, or toby in this set? I would like them to sell Gordon and the Express set gain you could try to stick the tower on the shirt side at 11:34 where one track goes under it, and the other can access the chute. I used to have one of those Plasticville coal towers and that's where I stuck it on the table layout I had

That quarry tower kit is just the Plasticville coaling station with the Sodor China Clay logo slapped on. They use the fact that you can put them together without glue as a selling point, but as someone who has about 90% of the Plasticville HO scale buildings on my layout, a lot of them are a pain in the ass to put together without glue. It's definitely possible, but I have a toy store and hamburger stand that will literally fall apart if you so much as touch them.
I’m trying to start a Bachmann Thomas and Friends layout, but I think I might need to get a different controller like the Gauge Master that Sam’s Trains uses. It seems to be better for a more realistic layout. The Bachmann and Hornby standard controllers would be better if they didn’t feel so toy-grade.
You know it’s crazy that throughout bachmann’s years of making Thomas ho scale sets, bachmann made a Thomas sets, 6 different kinds of sets with Thomas in it, a 2002-2005 Percy with troublesome truck set, 2005-2008 James set, 2004-2009 Gordon set, 2009-2015 salty set, and 2009- 2019 Emily set. Just showed that there was different sets but nowadays it’s just Thomas Only
in my opinion percy should’ve been in this set. i think there’s enough sets with thomas, (starter, special, christmas); the only other one is the emily set. i’m not sure if they even make that anymore.
I feel like this set needed something else to feel more special for the 75th. A switch track for the chute, or perhaps some extra dusty detail for Thomas and the trucks? Something to make it stand out more as more than just an oval
I think the 75th anniversary logo is just a sticker they threw on an already existing item. They've done it with a few. I've never talked directly with Bachmann but I would be on the side of that being a bad idea. Should be limited to things specially made for the 75th anniversary.

I want to go to Japan just to get the play rail cause in US, really only there on ebay. It’s all so expensive to get one in good condition tho. Think that Emily be rare. Still trying to get molly and Murdoch.

The quarry tower is the biggest pain in the butt - it is nearly impossible to build. Where does the floor labeled B go? Why are there no instructions? Seems like lots of people had this problem but there is zero information online about this build process.

Great Thomas set. Love the quarry tower and the ore loads, the latter should have been a load in the blue mining wagon instead of a coal load.

Locomotives have varying prices and not enough information to guess. Simply look at Trainworld website and add up the totals for what you want.
