A trivia here - #2 Nambidhe ninna (Purvi Kalyani) - Janakamma in a TV Show said that music was composed by Sri M Balamurali Krishna and the BGM was given by Sri GKV. This one is a favorite of Amma. She told an anecdote about this song recording. After the song was recorded GKV, who was overcome by joy prostated before her. Shocked Janakamma reprimanded GKV that a Guru should not do like this. GKV replied that he felt that it was not Janaki who was singing the song, but Goddess Saraswathi herself, hence the "saashtanga namaskara".

There were(are) many classical singers, and singers like yesudas, unnikirishnan, anuradha sriram sing for films and parallelly do classical music concerts, but s.janaki amma ,being a light film music singer, is the only singer in india to have rendered hundreds of classical and semiclassical songs in movies even full time classical singers like MSS, BMK, DK pattamal , MLV and soolamangalam sisters have not sung these many classical songs in films.
Janaki amma is Only indian singer to have recorded many classical songs in films from late 50's through late 90's.
Hi godvin! The first song is a ragamalika, starting with Bhimpalas (abheri) , then bagesree and behag. All hindustani ragas. By the great ramanathayyar. Do include in your list soon.
Thanks for pointing out... We can consider Bhimpalas as Abheri itself as it is more in carnatic style... Missed out the usage of Behag in charanam and the seemless touch of Bageshri...
