That Padme thing and correcting Filoni, that’s a big thing to forget, that they actually met. Padme and Shmi had food together, Shmi saw Anakin taking Padme’s hand, so he could show her C3PO, and they watched the entire race together. I don’t think they would’ve corrected it in time, and Dave would’ve never been able to turn such a big mistake down. That’s why you hire people like Sam, to make sure you’re on track when you’re busy and working quickly.
Witwer is probably the best guest because he truly cares about Star Wars and understands how great it was. He voiced iconic characters from my childhood.
James Arnold Taylor Mr Taylor I Grew up with the clone wars and I Grew up with Star Wars thank you for being part of my Childhood I am Going to Oklahoma City comic con Dressed as a Jedi Knight I wanted you to know your my favorite obi wan and I am fan of your work not only in the clone wars 2008 but the 2003 clone wars I will always love Star Wars my uncle and aunt and cousins love Star Wars two and they live in Africa where they filmed a new hope and so they Got me a real life Jedi Robe and I highly Respect you master Kenobi and I subscribed to you 😊
James Arnold Taylor 😁 Speaking of continuity errors, we needed Sam around during the Second Battle of Geonosis when Ki Adi Mundi said "There's no such thing as luck" and then later that *_same_* episode he says "with any *luck* we'll catch up to Skywalker". Anyway, love ya James keep up the great work 😘
jackychan92 I don't think you're a minority at all, but it would probably not be a possibility, as I am but a mere "voice-actor" and Jon is a big time Hollywood star and director. I don't think he'd take my call...😜 He'd be like, "James who??" Talk to my agent... 😆
I was watching Sam witwer in some other interview. Sam also corrected Ron Howard in solo. Ron Howard was gonna use Darth maul's lightsaber from episode i. But Sam told him that Darth maul lost his saber in that movie, and he had a new one since then. Ron Howard had no clue. So because of sam, we see Darth maul using his correct saber in solo
36:39 Trust me Mr Taylor, you nailed it. Down to the occasional Scottish (Ewan McGregor’s natural voice) slipping through the British (Alec Guinness) *Chef’s kiss * It was perfect.
Man, I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when Sam corrected Dave Filloni! Great series you are doing here (going to go back and watch the other ones when I get the chance) - hope you keep doing these!
Definitely - as a filmmaker and someone who has studied film, behind-the-scenes stuff like this is absolute gold! (And the fact that I'm a Star Wars fan and followed a lot of your work is an added bonus!)
Sam Witwer is amazing. I loved him in Star Wars the Force Unleashed and he absolutely killed it as Darth Maul in both The Clone Wars and Rebels. I'm very excited for part 2 to hear even more Star Wars conversation as well as the voice acting conversation.
I remember back in 2012, I had a bit falling out with Star Wars (I think I was being some edgy kid at the time), so I mostly missed out on seasons 3-4. When there was a commercial that said that Darth Maul was coming back on The Clone Wars, and I wanted to see how it would play out. When I watched it, I was so amazed and I contemplated what I had missed out on for almost two years. Thank you, both for your fantastic performances. I know that a lot of people were turned off by Darth Maul's return. Ironically, his return helped me return to a childhood I rejected for some silly reason. Thank you.
Adrian Africa glad to have you back to the Star Wars family😜 if you haven't you should check out the seasons you missed too. They were a lot of fun to make and are pretty cool. My best to you!
James Arnold Taylor Oh thankfully I managed to catch up when my family got Netflix a few years afterward. The Citadel and Umbara story arcs are my favorite ones that I missed out on.
A 52:53 Video with Sam Witwer... and it's just Part1!!! This makes me so happy, i can't tell you how much i appreciate your work James, and all your dedication to Star Wars. It's just amazing :)
xan der thank you. It's a labor of love and a way of saying, "Thank you" to all of you that watched with us and experienced the Clone Wars with such joy.
I've been a long time fan of Star Wars The Clone Wars and was sad to see it go, but I am thrilled to see you making Clone Wars Conversations which reminded me of my love for the Clone Wars!! Thank you for Clone Wars Conversations and everything you've done for the Clone Wars series itself. Keep up the great work!!
Sam Witwer is just the coolest man,no offense James :^). He's so down to earth and his acting is so weirdly enveloping you forget he's playing a character - especially for Darth Maul and Starkiller. It's difficult to believe such talent on a wide spectrum of voices come from one place. Super excited for whatever comes next :).
I really love hearing Sam's thoughts on various Star Wars stuff from an analysis perspective. He's always so on point. I especially loved what he had to see about comparing feature-length films and television shows. I love that you're doing this show, James; It's such a gift to Clone Wars fans. It really is magical how we're in a place where Star Wars is being made by people who love it so much and can't enough even a decade later.
The level of love you guys have for the show but also the fans is seriously the coolest thing ever. You can feel as a fan when an actor/creator doesn't really feel it in the same way but you guys really understand which makes me love the show and all of you all the more!
YES. Both of you have made such an impact on my life. I love this so much. I was 8 when The Force Unleashed and TCW premiered. Sam's performance as Starkiller was the first time I really saw that heroes are flawed and aren't perfect. He was raised in darkness, but persevered. So glad you were able to get Sam on the show. Thanks James.
While I think any hope of Starkiller ever being made a part of Star Wars Canon has passed (I haven't given up hope completely though), I so hope that one day Sam Witwer is given an important role in a Star Wars film (a role where we actually see his face, & not just hear his voice or he's masked in a SW film). He is such an amazing actor & such a die-hard Star Wars fan. He puts 150% into any role he does, but the chance to actually have a big role in a Star Wars film, OMG I know Sam would absolutely kill it.
I have been looking forward to this episode ever since James announced that Sam would be one of his guests. This episode certainly didn't disappoint. Sam's Starkiller is my favorite Star Wars character ever. James' Plo Koon is my favorite Canon Star Wars character ever. And their work as Maul & Obi-wan have become some of my favorite Star Wars moments ever. Thank you both so much for bringing to life my two favorite Star Wars characters ever, for all the work you've done for Star Wars in general & for such a great episode of Clone Wars Conversations! Love this show!
This was wonderful. Sam is the best, he just loves Star Wars so much. It makes me so happy to hear you guys talk with so much love and enthusiasm about TCW. So excited for part 2!!!
Clone wars and the extended universe books were peak Star Wars. Rebels by the end too. I'm going through Clone Wars now for the first time with my 5 year old. She loves it and i couldnt be happier. Thank you both for the genuine care you put into the show.
SnoopyRogue3 !!!!! Ha, yeah I don't think George will make it but we can dream right😜. Not sure about Dave either, perhaps if my show was an official LucasFilm production he'd be there.
26:42 When James says "Let's move onto Darth Maul" and Sam, just to himself and not looking at James or the camera, just does the Jedi Mind Trick, insinuating that he's moving the conversation to what he wants to talk about.
Chris313AllNight thanks! Glad you found it too! Hope you take some time to go through past videos and see all that's here! Lots of fun stuff and lots more to come! 😀
I love this show at first I came just because it was clone wars, but now I am actually really loving learning about the world of voice acting and the personalities.
cole neeley that's great, glad to hear it. Hope you're a subscriber and that you check out some of the other content on the channel like the behind the scenes videos of my day to day as a Voice-Actor. Thanks for watching!!
I cannot wait for Matt Lanter to come on. I have always loved the banter between your two characters. But I love this series because I love Clone Wars and I love seeing the people behind it! You re awesome James! Thanks for everything!
Rewatching this with the new season coming out, im so thankful for clone wars and im so thankful the show is getting its well deserved ending. Thank you so much for your hard work to bring us these amazing characters and moments. So glad you guys are legends in the star wars franchise.
Knowing there's a part two makes me that much more excited for the 2nd part. I love hearing Sam talk about Star Wars, it's something I can listen to all day.
I love these clone wars conversations. This show and Calvin and Hobbes were the most influential things in my childhood. My family would all gather in the family room and we would watch clone wars every Friday when the show started. Sadly, we moved during a later season of the show and the shows times changed and I lost track of it, but have finally finished watching it. Sad that the show couldn’t have crossed the finish line and concluded on its own terms
James and Sam, Kenobi and Maul now this is marvelous, I'd just like to thank you James for keeping CW alive through this show and how truly we are blessed for having you as the voice of Kenobi and the same with Sam as maul love you guys
I don't know how I missed this conversation till 2020! Their discussion of Luke and Mark was so spot on!! I have only just started listening, so can't wait to hear the rest of this.
The reason why it feels like Sam was in the series more than he was comes down to the presence that his portrayal of his characters had on the universe. His characters are two of the biggest impacting characters in the entire show, and he just did it so freaking well.
This was a fantastic episode. That's incredible you've had to make it into two whole episodes. Sam is a great guy. Really really loved how you took the time to talk about Mortis instead of rushing straight to Maul. Top notch!
Oh, it's never good when Obi-Wan and Maul get together...but it's AWESOME when JAT and Sam get together! Such a great episode, can't wait for the next half! (:
Favorite guest so far! I think it's not just that I enjoy his work so much, but also that he's a very engaged and engaging guest. It never hurts when the people behind the stuff you love are also huge fans like yourself.
UGH stop it, I'm about to rewatch clone wars for a 4th time and mourn about it's cancelation again! So so wonderful James, there is so much passion in this series. I hope the next animated show is as gritty and as compassionate.
During the entirety of this interview sam and james never let slip even the smallest hint of season 7 depite the fact they are currently working on it befour its announced, let that sink in
James I just want to thank you, Dave, Sam and the rest of the cast for being apart of my life in many different ways and my imagination, your channel is such a blessing to the SW community and the world!
James Arnold Taylor Of course, anytime! And as a fan I must say "The act of a man's kindness ,is the brand of a man's character." (-Tanner C Lucas) That is how I would describe you as a person, kind. I look forward to part 2 of this episode and have a wonderful evening!
man they have such good chemistry together. i know they both worked together in clone wars but outside that script they seem to get along so well and have such good chemistry. i could listen to their conversations all day
This video is by far the best Clone Wars Conversations so far! I love the dynamic between you two as Star Wars fans, and it was awesome hearing your guys' opinions on some of the stuff mentioned. So looking forward to next episode!
After so many videos and so many comments on said videos, you would think I would run out of appreciation and gratitude for my heroes in VO. Sam's pure Star Wars knowledge and complete awesomeness along with James, the master. This gives me life and all I can say at this point is please for the love of ALL THAT'S HOLY!! please keep doing this so that when my journey is complete (this stage anyway) I can play with you in your sandbox. Thanks @jatactor i am in awe of you sir.
Ser X I came here to make this comment and I’m so happy someone else noticed. Sam is the nerd on the inside of Star Wars I think more people should start getting to know about cause he’s just such an awesome guy
I cannot WAIT to see all the people you're going to bring on this show! Every week I'm so excited to see who's next. I hope we get to see everybody. Looking forward to part 2! Excellent work, as always!
Sam Witwer is so awesome (and the only TCW actor I've actually seen in person, at last year's Celebration)! I must say, that even though a lot of people dislike the Mortis arc, I find them to be some of the greatest episodes of TCW. The mythical, almost divine side to the Force doesn't get explored a lot, so I find it to be very interesting those few times we see it. Now that more non-Jedi/Sith aspects of the Force have been introduced, with the Bendu, the Guardians of the Whills, Nightsisters, etc (not to mention whatever is going on in the sequel trilogy), I think a lot of fans would be able to appreciate the Mortis trilogy more on a re-watch. Anyway, thanks for another great episode! Looking forward to part 2!
WOW!!!! My weekend was so full that I've just now had a chance to watch this. AH-MAZ-ING!! I am completely loving Clone Wars Conversations. THANK YOU, sir, for doing them. :) :) :) This was a great way to start a Monday!
This was such a treat! This whole series is wonderful, but I've been really looking forward to your conversation with Sam because he is just so perceptive and hardcore passionate when it comes to Star Wars. I love the enthusiasm and charisma between you two. And I really appreciate how much you guys talked about Mortis. That is hands down my favorite arc of The Clone Wars. And such an integral piece of the Star Wars mythology, whether people want to acknowledge it or not. And it makes me happy that all these years later it is still worthy of intense discussion. I really enjoyed this. Thank you for helping keep the love for Star Wars: The Clone Wars alive and thriving, James! You and your castmates are amazing and talented people! I'm really excited to see Part 2. That Sam Witwer can talk, but it's always entertaining. Thanks again, JAT. You are awesome! MTFBWYA :D
I became a fan of Sam’s though The Force Unleashed. Galen Marek/Starkiller is one of my favorite Star Wars characters. I also just recently finished my 3rd rewatch of the Clone Wars. The Mortis arc and Maul’s arc is some of the best stuff in that series.
I really hate myself for just now finding this series. But thankfully due to this quarantine I can marathon through this entire Playlist. Thank you for giving me this amazing way to spend my time during this horrible situation!
OMG, James. Amazing and brilliant episode. I thoroughly cannot wait until part 2. When you and Sam were talking about Star Wars fans, it brought me to tears a little. I was privileged to have been able to experience Ep IV in its original release in 77 (I was 6 at the time) and have been a fan of it ever since. It's hard, as a fan, to not think that actors in general look at fans and just think "Get a life!" Star Wars as a whole, including the Clone Wars movie/series, is a major part of not only my life, but now my 10 year old daughters life. It's nice to hear that are aren't always seen as loathsome geeks that get over excited about about "just a movie/tv show". Anyway, thank you and Sam both and I seriously can't wait for part two (as well as the rest of the series)
Jason Harkness I can't speak for all actors but certainly for all of us involved with Clone Wars when I say that we see how important the fan community is and that without fans Star Wars would be just another "movie". Thanks for your kind words and the time to make them here. May the Force be with you and your family always. JAT
2:56 Darth Maul, The Son, Starkiller and Palpatine.
Sam Witwer is _the_ voice of the *Dark Side.*
I love how Starkiller actually *looks* like him.
Warren Young that's actually one of the reasons he was cast as starkiller lol
No that's just the motion capture. The actors were cast first, then the characters were designed based on their likeness.
@@tonystank3091 I can't see Witwer and not see Starkiller. Very surreal
REX Sam is Great! Loved him since StarKiller. More Sam Witwer in my Everything Please 👍🏾

It's amazing, a whole show, I'd hope he brings it back
I think it's because the thumbnail and title don't do the content justice and aren't in favor of the algorithm. People don't watch a video, that catches ("baits") them in a second of seeing both components.

I may be a minority here, but I think there should be an episode with Jon Favreau, and his take on Pre Vizsla and the Mandalorians.

But Sam told him that Darth maul lost his saber in that movie, and he had a new one since then. Ron Howard had no clue. So because of sam, we see Darth maul using his correct saber in solo
That awkward moment when Obi Wan and Darth Maul interview each other...(or Plo Koon and Starkiller lol) Great video as usual JAT!
Damn he plo koon too? Sorry I know it’s 2 years later but I didn’t know that
The amount of passion that went into The Clone Wars is honestly overwhelming.
I've never hit the play button faster than I did when I saw Sam Witwer's name.

Awesome conversation James! You two are such fantastic actors and I love hearing your in-depth thoughts on Clone Wars!
DillonTaylorVA thx!
Watching this again. Looking at the date.
THIS DUDE PROBABLY KNEW ABOUT THE SHOW'S RETURN. Brilliant.
Top notch!
Taylor DePetris thx!
Oh, it's never good when Obi-Wan and Maul get together...but it's AWESOME when JAT and Sam get together! Such a great episode, can't wait for the next half! (:
I love that all of the VAs in Clone Wars were not only talented but also love Star Wars.
I met Sam Witwer at Star Wars Celebration! I wish you were there too, that would've been amazing.
During the entirety of this interview sam and james never let slip even the smallest hint of season 7 depite the fact they are currently working on it befour its announced, let that sink in
28:28 "Clancy Brown was the same way!" "What like a bounty hunter?" 2 years later he becomes a Devaronian criminal in The Mandalorian.
He was also a rival Mandalorian bounty hunter (Montross) in the Jango Fett game
I can’t believe I didn’t know this existed until now. This might be the best thing ever
James I just want to thank you, Dave, Sam and the rest of the cast for being apart of my life in many different ways and my imagination, your channel is such a blessing to the SW community and the world!
Tanner Lucas thx so much for the kind words. May the Force be with you!
James Arnold Taylor Of course, anytime! And as a fan I must say "The act of a man's kindness ,is the brand of a man's character." (-Tanner C Lucas) That is how I would describe you as a person, kind. I look forward to part 2 of this episode and have a wonderful evening!
Witwer is an absolute legend, I could watch him and JAT talk Star Wars for hours. Hope you guys do some trivia stuff soon!
JAT you have officially made me interested in this new interview series of yours, it is fantastic and informative.
The Lawless will always be the best episode of Clone Wars! Hands down!
Siege of Mandalore has entered the chat
Neat, Sam and I have the same shirt. It's my usual work-out shirt. Awesome video as always James.
man they have such good chemistry together. i know they both worked together in clone wars but outside that script they seem to get along so well and have such good chemistry. i could listen to their conversations all day
So awesome
I can't wait for Part 2. There's some great insight and stories that Sam told which were amazing.
This video is by far the best Clone Wars Conversations so far! I love the dynamic between you two as Star Wars fans, and it was awesome hearing your guys' opinions on some of the stuff mentioned. So looking forward to next episode!
CDRomBeta thx!
What a great episode. :D Loving the length, and the chance to see a bit of a behind-the-scenes view of this great show.
NJ Truman thx!
This was perhaps my favourite clone wars conversation yet! Great job!
Loved the stories about how Sam got the parts, and how he found the voices of The Son. Fascinating! -Din
F-105 Music cool!
Even cooler that you responded to all our comments! Force blessings :) - D
Firstly, he's a bad ass in everything Star Wars. What's even better, is that he's wearing a Half Life T shirt.
Ser X I came here to make this comment and I’m so happy someone else noticed. Sam is the nerd on the inside of Star Wars I think more people should start getting to know about cause he’s just such an awesome guy
Just absolutely wonderful. Love you both great conversation.
Wow, such a fantastic series you have created in these "conversations", thank you JAT!
I cannot WAIT to see all the people you're going to bring on this show! Every week I'm so excited to see who's next. I hope we get to see everybody. Looking forward to part 2! Excellent work, as always!
The Iron Maiden thanks so much!
Request Sam Witwer to sing “Here Comes The Sun” Get it? Here Comes The Son?
cameronjr8 oh god
nice... :D
No just no
Sam Witwer is so awesome (and the only TCW actor I've actually seen in person, at last year's Celebration)!
Daniel Johansson thx!
WOW!!!! My weekend was so full that I've just now had a chance to watch this. AH-MAZ-ING!! I am completely loving Clone Wars Conversations. THANK YOU, sir, for doing them. :) :) :) This was a great way to start a Monday!
Yes I totally agree with Sam the prequels art is wonderful.
Sees Maul on the thumbnail. Clicks the video.
I could watch these 2 talk all day
This was such a treat! MTFBWYA :D
ElleMar thanks so much!! MTFBWY
Sam Witwer is my new favorite actor.
He was phenomenal on the show, "Being Human".
JAT
