My old man loves his 69 Camaro looks like a regular rally until you notice the lower ride height and the thumping of the Cam... It's his retirement car and he tears up and down the streets in his quiet north Florida retirement town. Camaro builds never get old .
This is a super clean RS/SS. I'm glad he didn't go bonkers with the body mods - just super tasty changes. And it def moves! May not be GTR neck braking speeds but good enough for me!

Hi, I think it's time to visit the Heidts folks, they are kind of under the radar, but the IRS stuff is really the way to go for when you also want to go round the corners. By the way the RS shop has also an IRS system.

My childhood dream! 1969 RS Super Sport! My Dad gave me the muscle car bug, growing up we would ride in chevelles, Dodge Road Runners, 64 impala, and Plymouth Satellite. Fun cars❤
Callies rotating assembly, and a 4.5L whipple is a izzy recipe for that car. My LS3 did the same thing from sitting. New plugs and wires fixed it. Love that color combo. What steering components did he use to get the steering that solid???
Most restomods can hang with anything today, because they're made to. Restomod was the direction I was going to go before I learned about the 05 Mustang. I've put together some pretty nice three valve examples, but unless you go to forged internals, the pistons will limit you to about 550 horsepower at the flywheel and the crankshaft can handle about 600 horsepower. So, if you just want a nice example of a muscle car, you'll still be able to hang with most modern horsepower offerings, but if you want to hang with almost anything, you're going to have to rebuild an engine to get the restomod you want.

I am going to drive strictly old school vehicle soon because the quality and they are tuff physically and last longer than these newer types
If you go down that road like I am be prepared to modernize the drivetrain.
4 wheel drum brakes suck.
I work in a restoration shop, replacement parts suck now on these old cars, just today 3 new fuel pumps that were junk

The ‘69 Camaro is one of the great muscle cars. My favorite is the ‘68 Chevelle, but I love all the Camaros up to ‘70.

You’d have to check with Izzy on steering. He didn’t remember but was gonna look into it cause it was money!
