Need a video on removing ans installing a fuel tank completely with the console, and removal of the fuel pump. Have a 17 harley davidson breakout that the tank got damage. Have to put a new one in
hey Ryan. thanks for posting these videos. yours are always easier to follow. so do you have to drain out the gas before removing tank. or will that stop valve hold all the gas in there?
+MrBEZROC The valve will hold the fuel. A small amount may leak when you disconnect. I suggest putting a rag down to catch the small amount that leaks.
Do you have any videos on how to clean the inside of the tank? My liner is coming off and I need to basically remove it so it doesn't mess up my 2002 Electra glide

I have a 77 FLH Electraglide. I would appreciate if you could let me know whether it would be basically the same process so there is no risk (or at least minimal) of running into any time-consuming complications. Bike sat for a long time with fuel in the tank. Now the tank has rust around the inside lip of where the gas cap sits. I had a repair manual but haven't used the bike in so long, don't know where it is. Thanks a lot.
I cant' say for certain. There won't be a quick disconnect like on the new bikes. There should be bolts that hold the tank on at the front and rear. Most likely there is a fuel cross over tube from one side of the tank to the other that you will have to remove. It's a messy process on the old bikes. Drain the tank the best you can. Thanks Ryan. there's some sort of valve/hose/line on the front right side under the tank. does that have to come off? I'm replacing my T/I cables and removing the tank would make it easier.
+Danny Weakley Yes Danny, it's a fuel cross over. remove one side and pinch it off. No easy way to do it. Some gas will spill out so make sure you have some rags down.
Mike we have never completed the project you are interested in. I doubt the 2014 tanks would work without alterations due to the frame changes. There are aftermarket options out there for you. Rick from LAB.

yes, but within certain specifications. you'd want to do a bunch of research on that and ask a reputable wheel company. But, anytime you change those things it effects the rideability and performance of the bike.
Do you have any suggestions on how to properly flush out a gas tank on a bike that has been sitting dormant to a number of years? There's lots of rust, sludge and varnish. Thank you.

hi, wanting to venture into this to keep on cleaning of rocker covers on my 2015 softail slim... is the process same? i.e do you have a video that shows dealing with the dash..speedo etc..
Norman it is a little different, but I have done it and its pretty easy to figure out. We may have one soon with our older Night Train project we will have, but it may be a little different than your new bike. We recommend you get a service manual between now and then. They will point out the process for you. Rick from LAB.
We've got many videos either ready to go and or in the works. We do have a dash panel removal. runs over the top of the tank. Hopefull out soon. Make sure your subscribed. Ride safe
By the way, don't forget to throw all those torx bolts as far away as possible so you can never find them to accidentally use them again. Then replace them with Allen heads! You're welcome!!

Pan, the breather lines just go town through the frame towards the motor. Just re-route them in the same location as they were when you pulled them out. Make sure they are not touching the motor etc. Rk from LAB.
+Rick "Big Daddy" Kane thx for the response. it was a dumb question because there was a couple of diagrams in the maintenance manual showing specifically where the lines are supposed to go. but that being said, whoever serviced the harley last didn't put the breather lines in the correct spot per the diagrams instructions.

Need a video on removing ans installing a fuel tank completely with the console, and removal of the fuel pump. Have a 17 harley davidson breakout that the tank got damage. Have to put a new one in
wow, how easy was that!!! Gracias Ryan!!!
You betcha!! Rock on
Do you have to Purge the system? I have a 2019 FLHR King. Its fuel injected
hey Ryan. thanks for posting these videos. yours are always easier to follow. so do you have to drain out the gas before removing tank. or will that stop valve hold all the gas in there?
+MrBEZROC The valve will hold the fuel. A small amount may leak when you disconnect. I suggest putting a rag down to catch the small amount that leaks.
+Ryan Urlacher sounds good. thanks for answering so quick. ride on bro.
Ryan, don't you have to purge the fuel first on fuel injected bikes?
Thanks Ryan again for your video , stay safe. Milkman.
You bet
Thank you sir ✋️
Thankyou for making it easier
Is there a fuel cut off on 2002 road king classic fuel injectionJerry

Great video. I'm about to have to do this so I got a 05 road king custom do I have to drain the gas out of it first??
No need. The fuel won't leak out. You might loose a drop or two when you disconnect the quick connect coupler. It doesn't hurt to put a rag down.

Hi Ryan,
Is this the same removal sequence for a 2013 Fatboy?? Thanks.. Great videos..
I would have to guess so, but I don't have one here.
Ryan Urlacher Thanks for the quick response, Ryan.. When I remove the tank, I'll update.. Great videos you make , very helpful

I'm replacing my T/I cables and removing the tank would make it easier.
ah....just figured out that's the fuel crossover line....I'll have to figure that out.
+Danny Weakley Yes Danny, it's a fuel cross over. remove one side and pinch it off. No easy way to do it. Some gas will spill out so make sure you have some rags down.
+Ryan Urlacher thanks! time to get baptized I guess.
wont fuel just flood out everywhere if i do that?
the front bolt and nut is very very very tight. how to remove it? seems impossible.
HI, is it possible to change the Tank of an FLHX 2006 to a 6-gal tank? what´s going on with pump, cableling ? Thanks Mike
Mike we have never completed the project you are interested in. I doubt the 2014 tanks would work without alterations due to the frame changes. There are aftermarket options out there for you. Rick from LAB.

IS it possible to replace the front wheel of a Softail FXTSI with a wider wheel and tire?
yes, but within certain specifications. you'd want to do a bunch of research on that and ask a reputable wheel company. But, anytime you change those things it effects the rideability and performance of the bike.
Do you have any suggestions on how to properly flush out a gas tank on a bike that has been sitting dormant to a number of years? There's lots of rust, sludge and varnish. Thank you.

Ryan Urlacher thanks
hi, wanting to venture into this to keep on cleaning of rocker covers on my 2015 softail slim... is the process same? i.e do you have a video that shows dealing with the dash..speedo etc..
Norman it is a little different, but I have done it and its pretty easy to figure out. We may have one soon with our older Night Train project we will have, but it may be a little different than your new bike. We recommend you get a service manual between now and then. They will point out the process for you. Rick from LAB.
norm did you complete your task? softail slim rider also
tbh not had chance yet..
We've got many videos either ready to go and or in the works. We do have a dash panel removal. runs over the top of the tank. Hopefull out soon. Make sure your subscribed. Ride safe
What is the route for the breather line?
What is the best way to drain fuel from a 15 SGS?
Siphon
Sounds like a plan 👌🏼. Thanks Ryan
Won't the breather hoses be a pain to get them back down in their place?
No, just slide back in. Do it all the time. No issue
By the way, don't forget to throw all those torx bolts as far away as possible so you can never find them to accidentally use them again. Then replace them with Allen heads! You're welcome!!
What is all the stuff I read about "purging the fuel line" when you have to remove the tank?
No need. Do it just like we show and you'll be good to go
Ryan Urlacher Thank goodness! That whole purging process had me never wanting to do anything that involves taking the tank off, lol!
Do you have to drain the fuel first?
Not on the newer bike with the quick disconnect and nor cross over line. You should drain the older bikes. What are you working on?
Ryan Urlacher a 2007 SuperGlide.
Good to go. It has the quick disconnect!
Ryan Urlacher what about 2006 street glide?
You need to drain the fuel tank, there is a crossover line to disconnect.
Thanks for watching
That looks easy.
Right on. Go for it!
Sure is!

so the breather lines have no specific place to be as they are just breather lines?
Pan, the breather lines just go town through the frame towards the motor. Just re-route them in the same location as they were when you pulled them out. Make sure they are not touching the motor etc. Rk from LAB.
+Rick "Big Daddy" Kane thx for the response. it was a dumb question because there was a couple of diagrams in the maintenance manual showing specifically where the lines are supposed to go.
but that being said, whoever serviced the harley last didn't put the breather lines in the correct spot per the diagrams instructions.
So....Did you purge the tank..I seen you just popped off the pressure line.. What damage do you do to the motorcycle fuel system..If i can't start it
No need to purge the tank. It's a quick disconnect. No damage done.

Welcome
Omg i know I'm stupid but I can't for the life of me figure out where the other end of the fuel line goes on my 91 sportster. 😂😂😂 this is why I am not a mechanic.
how do i change out my sparkplug wires and get to my coil
What year and model is you bike?
06 Electra glide classic
No purge?...😜
Excellent video! Thanks!
My tank has a hose connecting one side to the other under the frame so it can’t just be lifted off like that???
