Thank you for this detailed list of problems and solutions. I plan to buy a 2016 Ford Edge Titanium with V6 engine and 93,000 miles. The Ford dealer in Tulsa, OK says it comes with a 3 month / 4,000 mile warranty "on 1,000 items". I feel like I should show them your video and make sure everything it updated (including the rear lift gate software). Should I also have them put it on a lift, so I can look underneath? It has spent its entire life in Oklahoma... so, not too much snow.
Hi, if you are buying from Ford dealer they should update all the software on it before selling it to you. It literally takes 15 minutes to plug in their oem scanner and update everything. Now it is always a good idea to have the vehicle pre-inspected before buying it, it kind of all depends how much you trust them. If you lift the vehicle you will be able to see possible oil leaks, possible frame damage, rust spots. I am in a car business and lifting each car once I buy it is the first thing I do. Also V6 is a really good engine, I like it much better than new 4CYL turbocharged ones
I had problems with battery going dead if not driven for 2 days but that seemed to resolve itself. Also, the tailgait sometimes closes when I have my head in there taking out groceries, etc. Also, the hood doesn't stay up and I have to use a stick to keep it open. The car always seemed to drift on the highway and you definitely had to keep your eyes on the road. Maybe the tire pressure sensors are not accurate? I put a few extra pounds in the front and a few fewer in the rear- lots better. 2017 edge, v6, 30,000 miles.
2018, 91k, second owner. This vehicle got from Florida to CT with the forst owner, then from CT to SC, NM, and now CA while also pulling a light Uhaul trailer, never gave me any major issues. The only things that have popped up is the trunk being finnicky about finally latching and closing, and when shifting out of park the vehicle sounds a little clunky but otherwise it runs well.
I got a 24 ford edge I just noticed today when I was driving very slow through a parking lot it was jerking bad. And twice now during acceleration I felt a slip through my gas pedal. Since I just bought it I hope it’s still under warranty. Dealerships are pretty untrustworthy most of the time. I travel a lot far from home so hope I can make it home.
Hi, sorry to hear this is happening to you. You should still have full warranty on your Edge so book it in at a Ford dealer and let them diagnose and fix whatever is happening
2019 ford edge titanium 177k Problem with the hesitant issue took it to ford but they changed ptu and transmission fluid and that didn't work so i took it to a transmission shop and found the problem being the tourque converter so it needs a reman transmission and new tourque converter. This happened during highway speed it hesitates let of the throttle and goes normal then goes back to hesitation again. But this started last year i figured it being the PTU or transmission fluid from what i was researching but here i am now found the problem. Cost to fix $6700 plus the install also getting a new tourque converter no price on it yet hope to know August 1st 2024 from Ford
@NYG5 just the tranmission torque converter slipping.. the shop here had a scan device for transmission. They said changing the fluid won't help it's internal so just day by day for the ford edge this happened after warranty expired too
Hi it could be a number of reasons, it is very hard to tell without proper diagnostics. Could be a misfire and vehicle needs tune up or could be fuel related, air / fuel ratio, or transmission related. Sorry I can't help more

Mine broke down for the 3rd time since I bought it a year ago. I really want out of it
Sorry to hear that. Usually those are quite reliable but there is always the "lemon" one
I have like rubbing when I put on the brakes
HI, most likely your brake pads are worn down. If not there could be debris between caliper and rotor
Very useful information thank you for sharing this knowledge.
No problem and glad to help :)

Yes happens quite often. Try resetting ford sync by removing the fuse or run the update and see if that fixes it
My 2024 does this, I have taken it back several times the dealership said it’s like a cellphone it gets hot and goes black. I don’t believe that
I had to replace head unit on wife's edge due to black screen. Found one on ebay make sure numbers match
