I dont think it was clever, quite the contrary. Pixar always created movies that fitted well in its own universe and, although the Cars universe have a lot of holes (Toy Story makes sense, a universe that toys come to life when nobody is watching. Cars, you have to suspend your disbelief way more because when you start to think the rules of its world, they make less and less sense), the story itself made sense for a universe of cars. The second one could be better in any universe than Cars and it shows how not to create a story based on a comedic character and the ending doesnt make any sense whatsoever.
@@lordeilluminati personally i disagree. the story of the second movie makes as much sense as the story of the first one in a universe with talking cars (which in itself makes no sense to us because its nothing we knew). but. because this universe is basically our own but just that the people are replaced with cars it makes sense again. because thats normal in that universe. it makes sense in that universe because it's like ours just with cars. it's clever in it's own right, openly mocking tropes and still integrating them in an enjoyable and funny way. i always see people complaining about putting the 'comic relief' as the main character and how it's a terrible idea, when it reality it's not the characters fault but the writers. and well, cars 2 is an example of it done not necessarily good but at least right. it's a fun and enjoyable movie. for children. kids love it. adults may find it boring because we don't have interest in talking cars in a a cartoonish world anymore. kids love it. i saw it with my little brother and cousin and they were amazed by all the spy stuff. they loved mater as a character. they loved the humor.

Also, Thor and Cars are alike in that people's general consensus is that the second movie in the franchise wasn't great but that the third more than makes up for it.

man Toy Story 4 sucked. total dissapointment. i have not seen all of pixar and still need to watch cars 2 but my god Toy Story 4 so far is the lowest on my list followed closely by an okay movie thats not bad but not realy that good, Cars. Granted havent seen Cars 2 yet so i gonna check about that later on. Toy Story 4 had too many problems for me; aspecially the Ending.
Khalil Yepez I have no idea why he scored cars 1 so low, that was one of the very first films I ever saw, and to this day is still one of my favourites. It’s on par with the incredibles, up and wall-e for me.
Khalil Yepez I love monsters inc, it’s hard to pick your favourites, but if I had to choose 3, it would probably be Incredibles (yet to see the second one as it doesn’t come out until July here), Wall-E and UP/Toy Story 3, I cant decide between those two haha.
Back when my family had Toy Story on VHS, we had to manually fast forward through that thing to get to the movie. We couldn't just skip it. We still had to watch it. But faster. And no, it didn't make it better.
Incredibles 2 (2018): Jack-Jack and Edna Mode are so sweet. Toy Story 4(2019) Ok, this time Woody leaves! Onward (2020): They stole the birthday song from the Emperor’s new Groove Soul (2020): The story of someone who became a ghost and a cat
0:46 Aww, I liked shark tale... wait that's pixar? ??? Really? Man though everyone's really mad in the comments guys calm down these are opinions. Also agreed
Good dinosaur had like 4 characters, he gets washed down a river and comes back, and yes that’s as deep as that movie gets. Should be 0, the only Pixar movie I can say I hate and make fun of regularly
Thinking the same thing. Violet wasn’t really whiny, she was just shy and had lowself esteem. It also didn’t help that her mother was asking her to do something she didn’t know how to do, and under so much pressure as well.
Cars is much BETTER than cars 2. By a lot, better music better story, better humor. It doesn’t jump around or change the protagonist, it’s solid. Maybe a 5-7 rating, but definitely not a 2
For the most part, yeah I agree with e everything here, but how did Cars 2 get a rating above the original Cars. I saw it one time, and was really not impressed, it was all one big slapstick gag.
I remember being a little bored by Wall-E and the Incredibles as a kid, but I should probably watch them again. I guess I just didn't know how to appreciate good movies when I was a stupid child lol. Also, Coco was my absolute favorite, probably because it reminded me a lot of my own family and culture that I'd kinda been overlooking as a teenager.

Eh, it was good. Anyone expecting something as good or better than the first was setting themselves up for disappointment. It’s still a good movie, and there was plenty of fun to be had.
Hey, I really liked Incredibles 2. It’s not the first one, but I didn’t expect it to be. It did its own thing in a good way, and the animation was fabulous.
Yeah, I liked it too. Not as good as the original, but it’s not trying to be. It’s trying to be it’s own story and a continuation of the first (LEGO Movie 2 also does this really well). I appreciate a sequel that is a good movie in its own right, not simply being a rehash of the first. Funnily enough, this is the same mindset that Frozen 2 has, and I actually think that Frozen 2 is better than the first. Like, MILES better, like no CONTEST. Frozen 2 is phenomenal
inside out and ratatouille honestly deserve much better scores, especially inside out. i first started noticing signs of my mental illness when i was around the protagonist's age, and like her, i began feeling and doing things i didnt understand. i became impulsive and my mood would change rapidly. before long i started loosing myself. nothing was fun anymore. the things that formed my personality started falling apart inside me, and i didnt know who i was anymore. im still trying to figure those things out and im slowly putting the pieces of me back together. it meant a lot to me to see something that happened to me, something that happens to a lot of people, being shown on screen.
@@One-eq7bg I've got a feeling that you can't think for yourself; literally everything you've written here and on other videos is Jello's ratings, and without even an individual elaboration.
Coco is just "Lie Down. Try not to cry. Cry a lot." And it's one of my favorite movies. I think where it really succeeds is that because most of the cast is already dead, the stakes are much more existential. There may be a life after death, but as long as we are loved by those we leave behind, our legacy lives on. Coco examines what happens when our legacy is forgotten. And that's not even getting into the ending with Mama Coco. I have been crying the entire time I type this and I think this film will always have that effect on me. And that's okay.
Doc. Pummello quite the opposite, actually. Both had nonsensical logic behind living vehicles, but Cars had a compelling story to tell, while Cars 2 had a mediocre plot
captain drama your comment is the embodiment of “a bad movie is better than a boring one”. I agree Cars 2 is bad, but cars and the good dinosaur are boring
I used to not like WALL-E because I first viewed it at a younger age and didn't understand the ending. To me he just lost his memories and that was it, plus he didn't really do anything. Although I love it now and it is visually stunning with a wonderful soundtrack, sometimes i'm still like 'but they cant... they didn't do anything, really!' Not to be a debbie downer, it's just not my #1 pick
I love Cars, I don't see what people find so horrible about it. Yeah they're Cars they don't do anything it doesn't make sense, but toys just don't come to life either.
Yeah, me too. But I watched it pretty recently, so I don't think it's nostalgia. It's a solid (if simple) story with fun gags. If you think about it too much you'll make your life miserable but that happens with a lot of movies. I think it's just become a trend to hate on it. It's not Pixars best, but it's not it's worst. And in my opinion the worst thing a Pixar movie can do is being boring or forgettable.
Cars is good man. I like 1 and 3. Unpopular opinion but 3 is a masterpiece, you get the feel and the emotions better. Maybe its cuz theres no mater as comic relief
I love Cars too! Mostly because I watched it 152 times when I was 4. Now I’m 11 and don’t really watch them, but still. Cars 1 is good, Cars 2 is also good, but Cars 3 sucks, Like absolutely sucks.
Why is cars last place and not cars 2, you know, the one where they took the worst character from the first movie, made him the main character, and made him a spy because they couldn't go anywhere with just the first two things?
And Cars 1 alone has a fantastic moment in "I think the King should finish his last race." As a kid, and even now I still love the hell out of that ending.
Cars 2 is always the butt of everyone's jokes in regards to Pixar, but I don't think that's fair. Sure, Cars 2 *shouldn't exist*, and it certainly isn't a good movie by any stretch of the imagination. But here's the thing: There are things about Cars 2 that I *like*. Cars 2's opening scene alone with the spy car on the rig is better than literally the entire first movie. Mater isn't a good main character, but I would argue he's actually more likable than McQueen. Sure he's the dopey comic relief character who got his own movie (always a recipe for disaster), but at least he MEANS well. I don't mind rooting for him sometimes. He's actually my favorite character from the first movie by virtue of being the only person in Radiator Springs that *isn't an asshole*. I think the plot of 2 is a little cookie-cutter for a spy movie, but hey, average is better than bad. The only things I could genuinely praise about the original are the soundtrack and the visuals, and while the soundtrack isn't quite as good (I like me some lonely western country music), the visuals are a lot better, so they're on par there. Or should I say on CAR there! HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH Also Cars 3 is actually a pretty solid movie. In my opinion the Cars franchise is the rare animated series that gets better as it goes. You don't really need to watch any of them though.

He was obviously exaggerating, so I don't think they'd had to have known each other in fourth grade for real. But I don't understand why everyone thinks it's such a huge contradiction; it was a throwaway line of dialogue.
Honestly I think the story wraps itself up within the movie, and a sequel would be kinda unnecessary. (Plus I’m a huge fan of The Pixar Theory by John Negroni, and a sequel could easily contradict a major part of it)

Waaaaay before even watching this video, Wall-e was my FAVORITE childhood movie... I loved it so much that I even made Wall-e part of my Club Penguin passcode. 10/10
Cars........ Tells a massive list of why it doesnt make sense. Have a look at not only the movies on the list but all children's movies and I could make a list longer than that for ALL of them. Cars isn't about the cars, it's about how McQueen develops from a selfish, self-centred car to a great friend, has lots of sportsmanship and is overall nice to people. Also it is about Doc. He hates the racing community and curled up into a shell after he was rejected. When he met McQueen, he wanted to get rid of him right away, without getting to know him or actually seeing what he was like, this is a classic example of hate blinding you from what really matters, friendship. Mater shows the power of friendship and ask the cars in radiator springs symbolise good, caring people. It is a beautiful movie. You gave it a bad score just because it had cars in it, not because the plotline was bad or the charters didn't develop. Apart from that, great video.
This guy makes fun of Cars just because it doesn’t make sense. I could just as easily make fun of WALLE because it is about a robot. Who cleans stuff. And likes music. That’s the first half of the entire movie right there folks. Of course WALL.E was great and so was cars but they had they’re goods and bads. You just showed the good things about WALL.E and the bad things about cars. Next time you rate stuff, don’t choose what you like/dislike
Daniel von Strangle Cars is a 7 (well done story of a humbled hotshot), car 2 a one (literally made to sell toys if I'm not wrong, so less respectable than one) and card 3 was a loved the finale but JUST LISTEN TO YOUR EFFING TRAINER! FORGET THE BEACH! USE THE TREADMILL! STOP ACTING LIKE YOUR OLD SELF (OK your young old self). His liking cars 2 more than 1 is baffling.
I liked Cars 2 when it came out. The original just felt bland. There was not really that much racing (aside from the race at the start and the end of the film). Cars 2 was a secret spy movie disguised as a racing movie. I liked that the racing genre isn't the primary genre because who would watch a movie just about racing? It's not interesting. Movies need plots. They need antagonists. And Cars 2 was an accepted movie I would sit down and watch with younger kids. The plot isn't THAT interesting and cool but that's why I liked it. I respect your opinion on Cars 2. Most people didn't like it.

@@arturoayala1004 Arrogant man at the top of the world who is about to attain an even greater position of authority and fame gets taken down a peg by finding himself unwillingly stuck in a small town for a while in a way that puts his entire way of life at risk, where he learns to value other people's contributions and gains humility and arguably morality. Also, he falls in love while he's there, and makes a huge personal sacrifice that he never would have considered before getting stuck in that town and undergoing forced character development. By the end of the movie, he's restored to a position of status, but as a wiser, humbler man who will never forget the lessons he learned from that small town and its inhabitants.
You could probably also argue that both Thor and Cars have functionally the same plot as a generic Hallmark Christmas special, except gender-swapped and usually in the Christmas special they usually give up their status in favor of the small town.
Also, Thor and Cars are alike in that people's general consensus is that the second movie in the franchise wasn't great but that the third more than makes up for it.

I used to not like WALL-E because I first viewed it at a younger age and didn't understand the ending. To me he just lost his memories and that was it, plus he didn't really do anything.
I really like cars- I'm honestly straight SHOCKED that he gave Cars 2 a better rating
Why is cars last place and not cars 2, you know, the one where they took the worst character from the first movie, made him the main character, and made him a spy because they couldn't go anywhere with just the first two things?
And Cars 1 alone has a fantastic moment in "I think the King should finish his last race."
As a kid, and even now I still love the hell out of that ending.
HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH
Also Cars 3 is actually a pretty solid movie. In my opinion the Cars franchise is the rare animated series that gets better as it goes. You don't really need to watch any of them though.
And then they made Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle his love interest because I don't get nice things.
Kenny Buck yeah Cars 2 was bad since it was unnecessary and there was nothing from that movie came to Cars 3
You think the Cars 2 is better than bad... that's a first LOL

‘Do they steal organs?’ My favourite part XD
"Do they mate? _This franchise implies they mate_ "
I read this comment after cars 2 and oh god they actually sell organs
That "Jealous since 4th grade" line could be a lie. That could be a possibility.
Maybe they were friends in elementary, drifted apart in later years, and finally met again in college.
@@Faux_Sunlight If that were the case then I'm pretty sure they wouldn't go through the introductions because i'm pretty sure they would still recognize eachother after all those years and the scene where sully is introduced would play out like that. BUT they act like they've never seen eachother before now in that , so yeah.
Touche
He was obviously exaggerating, so I don't think they'd had to have known each other in fourth grade for real. But I don't understand why everyone thinks it's such a huge contradiction; it was a throwaway line of dialogue.
@@hunterlawrence3573 Ikr, it’s not a biography it’s a one-liner they say to each other.
Let's hope theres no Wall-E 2 unless its really good
I wish there was a TV series for all of the characters.
WALL-E IS LIFE
Honestly I think the story wraps itself up within the movie, and a sequel would be kinda unnecessary. (Plus I’m a huge fan of The Pixar Theory by John Negroni, and a sequel could easily contradict a major part of it)
I was wondering if they would make a prequel rather than a sequel.
Dirt I could mabye see a short being good if they just show what happens aftewards but a full on sequal is not needed.

In lockdown, our teacher made us watch this and write it in dialogue

Did you put down bird honking sounds
“I’m not the American educational system”
Hits hard man
SlushieOfHats sucks for you, I'm british.
Kill me
Being glad you're British and not American these days is like being glad you're Italian and not German during World War 2.
You're Aussie, though. Like, you're in almost a bad a boat as the Americans and Brits. Not as bad- you're not waiting on the edge of crisis or sucking on an ice-cold popsicle of awful- but from what I recall all the major English-speaking nations are feeling the pain of shit going wrong.
And I say this as an American watching everything go to hell.

You're damn right. We've never needed anything like a militia to keep our government in check here, we've always just indiscriminately and endlessly made fun of everybody and that's been enough to get them all quaking in their boots. I don't know if that speaks to how timid our politicians are or if it speaks more to the overwhelming power of our bantz.
SOME PEOPLE DONT LIKE WALL-E I WILL FIGHT ANYONE WHO THINKS THIS ISNT THE BEST MOVIE
TheEmeraldGamer i really dont like movie, i really don’t understand why this exists. As a kid i did not understand the love story and it really just seemed dumb to me, i like better cars, i loved cars as a kid and still do. Idk why they put it so low on the list, its has a good story, except the sequels, its a very good movie
Waaaaay before even watching this video, Wall-e was my FAVORITE childhood movie... I loved it so much that I even made Wall-e part of my Club Penguin passcode. 10/10
Yeah, I don’t really enjoy Wall-E. It’s just not for me, but I understand why so many other people fine it extraordinary.
wall-e wasnt that great 4/10

I think the guy who made the video meant cars2
Fin Cars 3 wasn’t all that bad, I guess it’s part of the story we’re supposed to digest?
Personally Cars 2 was worse than the original Cars.
Fin
and Mater
Don't forget about Mater
Why is everyone against cars
I think a lot of people hate McQueen because he constantly acts entitled and the fact that the story could've been told without the cars.
Its cars
Its a franchise with a premise broken at its core
I feel so insulted when cars is the worst just why...Cars 2 was way worst
I liked Cars 2 when it came out. The original just felt bland. There was not really that much racing (aside from the race at the start and the end of the film). Cars 2 was a secret spy movie disguised as a racing movie. I liked that the racing genre isn't the primary genre because who would watch a movie just about racing? It's not interesting. Movies need plots. They need antagonists. And Cars 2 was an accepted movie I would sit down and watch with younger kids. The plot isn't THAT interesting and cool but that's why I liked it. I respect your opinion on Cars 2. Most people didn't like it.
Needless GD I feel insulted.
@@renewings same I LOVED cars 2 yet didn't really like the first one and the third one almost made me cry for nostalgia and sadness(I still feel that I like cars 2 and 3 better especially 2)
Don't feel insulted, he's not insulting you, it's his opinion!
I’d give Cars a 3/10 & Cars 2 a 2/10
You don't know how happy it made me to see you say that WALL-E was your favorite Pixar movie.
Mr. Quality Content that made me raging
Сергей TheSergeyPlay I absolutely adore Wall-E. It's turning 10 years today!
dude, when my mans gave wall-e a 10/10, i went batshit crazy with excitement. it's probably one of my favourite movies of all time (along UP, my neighbour totoro, etc.)
Cars: The worst
Me and my brother: eXCUUUUSEEE MEEEEEE DIS IS NO GOOD :
Hear me out, every cars short reviewed in 5 words or less
I honestly don't think it'd be that great. There's not a lot of variation in the subject matter.
That would honestly just kill Jello
1 word. No more, no less. For every cars short film.
On the Cars 2 review, I can just imagine it's a writer saying that they wanna make a spy movie, but someone like John Lasseter or someone just lifting a gun and saying the "you make cars" line.
Aww.. but I loved Brave!
And also Lava! What?!
exact same thoughts passed through my head
honestly loved brave
He gave Brave a 4
Like I can’t even
Brave is probably in my Top 10 favourite Pixar movies.
