After filming, Ryan stole one of the Deadpool suits and took it home. He said he'd been waiting for YEARS to finally play Deadpool, and was not leaving without one.
I swear, Ryan Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. All those witty oneliners and 4th wall breaks are legendary. He nailed the character so damn well that we forgot about the atrocity that was the Green Lantern movie.
9:21 Fun fact: In this scene, Ryan is wearing a t shirt with Bea Arthur's likeness on it, because apparently he's a HUGE Golden Girls fan. He paid 10,000 dollars out of his own pocket to get permission to have it in this movie. He spoke with Bea Arthur's sons personally, and worked out a deal that the 10,000 dollars would go to Bea's charity in exchange. His swords also have Bea and Arthur on the hilts.
Ryan really was made to be Deadpool They're both Canadian They're both 6ft 2 They're both 190 lbs They share the same hair and eye colour Ryan Reynolds made his first appearance in acting February 3rd 1991, the same year and 2 days after Deadpool first appeared in comics. New Mutants #98's cover date is February 1st 1991. Their names both have alliteration. Ryan's full name is Ryan Rodney Reynolds (RRR) and Deadpool's full name is Wade Winston Wilson (WWW).
I remember watching this in the theatre and it felt like a guided tour of my hometown. "I was just out there!" Ryan Reynolds is from Vancouver and the movie is shot there. That whole opening fight scene is on the bridge I used to take to go to work every day. The hotel scenes are shot at the Shangri-La. It's pretty awesome seeing a smart-ass superhero dangle from a bridge I'm very familiar with. Even the Indian taxi driver is spot on. Having moved out to Vancouver Island, one of the things I miss is the ethnic food. It's hard to find out here, especially in the small towns. I've listened to so much Bollywood music growing up it's wild. I acknowledge that Superman 2, Batman and The Dark Knight are probably better films technically, but this is one of my favourites, as someone who isn't a fan of superhero movies necessarily. I actually watched the filming of some of the X-Men movies from my condo when I was living on the West End of Vancouver. Those were the days.
I can’t believe I never noticed this until recently but when Wade is butchering his way through all the henchmen it never occurs to him that they probably all know Francis only as Ajax anyway and they legit had no idea who Wade was asking about; things might have gone a lot quicker if just once Wade had asked where “Ajax” was!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Blind Al is played by Leslie Uggams she is a great actress of stage and miniseries like Roots . She couldn't tell anyone she was in the film. Her son is a huge comic book fan so he got a big surprise to find his mom was in Deadpool.
When I was 14-15 I was banned from playing at the Las Vegas Circus Circus arcade. I rarely missed the basketball shot game and the game knocking down the 3 cats with the 3 balls. I would win lots of stuffed animals and then just give most away to people walking by.
If you like the first movie Clariss, your gonna love Deadpool 2! It's even funnier, has more action AND we saw that Wade is not just a mercenray; he has a kind heart too! He saved a mutant kid, that was so nice 🥰I'm sure you will have a great time watching it!
There are brands of matches that are called "strike anywhere matches." There is an ingredient that allows them to light with enough friction on pretty much anything, but they aren't as common for safety reasons. Like I don't even think they're allowed of flights anymore. Most matches use sulfur and phosphorus to light. Regular matches have the sulfur on the matchstick and phosphorus in the strike strip on the side of the box. The friction/mixing of these is what causes the stick to light. Strike anywhere matches have the sulfur and phosphorus already mixed on the matchstick.
Clariss It is possible that match on fire can happened! I am an electro-mechanical technician for biomedical company that specializes in hyperbaric chambers. These chambers use pressurized oxygen as part of treatment. Matches are one of banned things cannot be in these chambers. I assemble subassemblies (electrical and electronics) to be coded according to sanctioned agencies such as FDA. My company thoroughly tested these chambers before they are shipped to their appropriate customers.
i think the question was about Wade lighting up the match with his hand and not with the matchbox. And the answer for this is... theoretically possible, but it's not really probable... there are matches which can light up on any abrasive surface (unlike most safety matches), but i'm not sure he can produce enough friction with his fingertip for this. But it's cool, and that's all that matters.
*Yes, matches with the little white tips are self-igniting. Like in The Breakfast Club, when Bender struck his match on his teeth. I used to do that in High School. Tasted like hell, though. lol*
that's what Disney needs at Disney world a Deadpool character walking around making inappropriate comments and cursing at kids i would go to Florida to watch that
What a time to be 16, I couldn’t see it at the movies since I was a little too young, but a year later, I got the opportunity to see it on digital. I gotta say Ryan Reynolds was born to play Deadpool despite of X-men origins Wolverine. I’m so excited for Deadpool and Wolverine. This is exactly how to do a superhero movie especially for adults. More violence, cursing, and adult humor. I will say the killing no killing thing is dated since it’s more of a Batman thing.
I have to imagine that a LOT of the lines are improvised. Watching reactions, I've actually seen that a lot of people around the world actually get different jokes from the ones that I got in the theater here in Seattle. So, they had to have recorded him delivering several jokes at multiple points and then just kind of... mixed and matched them for the various cuts. Still, I feel like we're really lucky this year to be getting _two_ Ryan Reynolds movies this year. Deadpool 3, of course, but also the movie If, which, if you haven't seen, you should 100% react to! It's already out digitally, and it is AMAZING!
24:36 in Deadpool's defense, Ben Grim "The Thing" from the Fantastic 4 went back to his wife after becoming whatbhe is and his was was horrified and left him. So I get why Wade was reluctant.
I may be the only one, but I think Ajax is a cool name 😅 The Ajax of The Iliad 'stronger than all Greece' being why the soap is named that way is funny to me though.
I had thought about this one recently and tried to ascertain what it was that made it stand out and exceed what I understand were low expectations of it. It has all the standard stuff and well executed. Comic superhero stuff/X-Men stuff. John Wick style action scenes. Witty well delivered toilet humor. A well paced heart warming drama. Nods. Stars that named can sell a movie. Also it has it is imbued with charm which is really important. Those who can imbue their art, even when it's gross, can turn a B movie into a cult classic. It's also a "film you didn't know you needed but did". And on a budget at that. What stands out what they did right by it is it delivers. They knew what their audience wants to see and they gave it to them. You can imagine them doing a scene or delivering a line then thinking of themselves as the audience and saying "Okay, did I want that and thoroughly enjoy it? Is it memorable?" And if not, try again. Like charm in production I think the importance of delivering is overlooked and this is a solid example of why it shouldn't be. Speaking of delivering yes I love arcades but spare money these days? Well the quarters go towards laundry. But that one time I was in city that had yes, a laundromat/arcade and it was good.
I get a huge kick out of the part where Deadpool says "Wait!! You're probably wondering why the red suit? Well, that's so bad guys don't see me bleed. This guy's got the right idea, he wore the brown pants." I swear, Ryan Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. He nailed the character so damn well that we forgot about the atrocity that was the Green Lantern movie.
The arcade tickets for big prizes is a strategic move 1) do your research. Find out which games costs the least to play but gives highest rewards (like actual attainable jackpots) 2) play that game repeatedly to build up the ticket total until you’re outta credits 3) now this is the hard part… SAVE THEM. Dont redeem them in that visit. Let it accumulate. Meaning occasional visits (or consistent/constant visits if you prefer) 4) repeat steps 2 & 3 until you have attained enough tickets to redeem said prize (such as an xbox or etc)
You would LOVE The Fall Guys, which came out recently. It has similar humor to Deadpool, and includes Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. The movie is about our unsung heroes - the stuntpeople. ❤
If you know how long a mess like that, it’s totally possible because I used to strike kitchen matches by flicking them on the sharp part of my teeth all the time lol so pretty much any sharp objects will strike a kitchen match
@@ladypool1404 Yeah. By the way, it's in continuity with Hulk vs. Thor, the show Wolverine and the X-Men, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and Thor: Tales of Asgard.

19:58 well actually Ajax is a real name, not very popular but it is one that exists: Ajax was in the Trojan war (The Iliad) he was with Aquiles and also met Odysseus in the same war
go to the same arcade, most have an account you can make and save up tickets. near Toronto there's an adult arcade with a bar and more violent games. its easy to save up because even buying drinks gives you tickets lol.
Oxygen / Match thing, there are "strike anywhere" matches (which pre-dated safety matches you mostly find nowadays) that can be lit be sufficient friction with anything, conceivably a fingernail. The oxygen on the other hand... Oxygen isn't flammable. Everything needs oxygen in order to burn, so in a pure oxygen environment everything around is unbelievably flammable, but the process of "burning" is literally adding oxygen molecules to something. The oxygen is already is a stable O2 state, and while I suppose it could oxidize to O3 (ozone) that would use up energy and not self-propogate. If the initial flow of oxygen didn't disperse the heat of the match too much and blow it out, it's likely the match would have started to burn super quickly and brightly with a much larger flame. This might catch the tube feeding the oxygen on fire, breaking the tube and spreading flame and oxygen around the room. Once the floor was on fire, that might have heated the oxygen cylinder enough to overpressure it and make it explode (assuming someone had welded shut the safety plug on the cylinder at some time in the past). But the oxygen in the cylinder itself wouldn't explode - there's nothing in the cylinder for the oxygen to help burn.
You are a true adult when you reach the point you simply don't give a F what others think. I love roller coasters and you love arcades. If that bothers others that's their cross to bear.
This is a comment. It helps with engagement. UA-cam, please pay Clariss lots of money to help her pay her bills. She's really nice. 😉😁 (There ya go, Clariss. Hope that helps.)
Ah.....no, no and no. You cannot flick a safety match with your finger(An old fashion match! Yes. But I don't think they make those anymore) . Oxygen does not burn, so no explosion. And my personal favorite! Cutting off oxygen does not make you feel like you are suffocating. You will feel light-headed, dizzy, maybe get a headache and pass out, until the level is restored.
Flicking the match yes with enough friction. The oxygen on the other hand does not work that way. The match would just burn extremely fast when the oxygen turns on. Unless everything in his chamber is also flammable its BS.

Even before he was cast in Wolverine: Origins, whenever I would read a Deadpool comic I would hear Ryan Reynolds’s voice in my head for Deadpool.
Thanks to the mid-credit scene in Deadpool 2, it never actually happened.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool is the perfect point of harmony between "born to play the character" and "only ever plays ONE character."

And my personal favorite! Cutting off oxygen does not make you feel like you are suffocating. You will feel light-headed, dizzy, maybe get a headache and pass out, until the level is restored.
Just some good family fun!
You got that right!
Clariss I was always a big fan of Ski-Ball.
Flicking the match yes with enough friction. The oxygen on the other hand does not work that way. The match would just burn extremely fast when the oxygen turns on. Unless everything in his chamber is also flammable its BS.
Good Job! Well done!
Love this movie!!!!!
