Rob Delaney, the guy who played Peter lost his 2.5 year old son in 2018, so as I understand it Reynolds decided to make Peter a goddam legend in the movie. At the end of the credits is the line “For Henry Delaney” as a tribute.

Straight up, my best friend and I watched this in theaters a few times, and they were able to get actual tears out of us right there in the theater. The behind the scenes in the credits gets me every time.
IKR!? 😮💨 Imo Deadpool movies have always been absolutely freaking amazing at having you laugh hysterically only to have you all teary eyed a second later ffs! It’s a rarity in that capability imo for sure! 😅👍😉 But this one somehow managed to audiences of all sorts…right in the feels! But for completely different reasons at times, I mean I was in the theater and close by I had people who were apparently (as I later learned) spanned from knowing basically EVERYTHING like me…to knowing absolutely NOTHING(not even joking either) Now…while unfathomable to me that one would go into a movie that’s a part of something as massive as not just the MCU but X-men and Fantastic 4(tho that wasn’t obvious going in really😉) without knowing anything…like WTF!? How!? Why!? Idk but I’ll move on for sake of keeping this comment slightly less ridiculously long 🤦♀️ Anyways…yea, some were roughly in the middle of the prior knowledge spectrum aswell, so it was a bit of a mixed bag really. But as I was saying…there wasn’t a single person anywhere even remotely close to me that wasn’t (at one time or another) either laughing so hard that it was obviously hard to catch their breath🤣😮💨 or were crying, not just sniffling my dudes…no, we’re talking about the “ugly crying” y’all! 😩😭 And EVERYTHING in between was going on, myself included obviously!😉👍I was a freaking mess guys! So…yea, as I was talking about, even tho the Deadpool movies are advertised (as the one guy was saying that he was expecting awesome funny action and not much more) they are imo some of the more heartfelt/ deeply affecting comic book/action movies out there ffs! This one in particular got me sooo good and many times aswell honestly! Whether it’s relationship, friendship, self reflection/reflective etc. or if it’s the more “Fan service ish”, callbacks, comic reference based, prior unmade movie/show/comic obscure references or even just the sometimes somewhat subtle musical themes and other seemingly random yet sincerely used references made all throughout the entire freaking movie that I’m sure had the people like me, in a state of near constant and at certain times somewhat overwhelmed by all the references that were imo, ever so carefully and lovingly placed throughout the entire damn movie…were so awesome and very much appreciated….I mean like you said, it was an insanely well done love letter really! Btw sorry (not sorry) about the ridiculously long rambling comment my dudes! But I couldn’t agree more with your comment 🥹👍😉😘👌

I just love Hugh Jackman and I think he’s underrated as an actor. If a guy who can sing, dance, and act like him was around in the 30s to 50s, studios would be at WAR to book him. He’s such a versatile performer, and I really don’t think he gets the respect he deserves. I’m really happy for him to be in this movie that spends so much time giving him his flowers.
I think it may feel like it because he does a lot of more « commercial » movies, so they’re often a little snob by a part of the industry (which is understandable) Also not everyone likes some actors or like commercial movies vs more « serious » genre. He still seems to be a little bit everywhere 😊

Just to let you guys know, after watching X - Men 97 and now watching the original X - Men animated series, y'all should know the kind of character that Gambit is and his accent. Gambit has a Cajun accent, and Channing Tatum was born in Alabama, and he has roots in Mississippi and Louisiana, so he fits the role perfectly. Also, they were supposed to make a solo Gambit movie anyway, but it never happened, and channing wanted to play Gambit for a long time, so he finally got his chance. Yeah, it did become a meme for a little while when people heard his accent, but over time, people started to like it more. Y'all didn't have to down him like that because of his accent though lol.

He made a name for himself here! •After this, Tatum said he hoped it would renew interest in the movie, but it’s ultimately up to Feige. Ryan Reynolds also said he’d like to work on it with Tatum. Ryan released a deleted scene of a portal opening for Gambit, implying he makes it out of the void. You can actually see it on one of the TVA screens in the credit scene
They couldn't get Vinney Jones to reprise his role as Juggernaut, so they cast Aaron Reed instead. Reed is the person who played Dude, the muscular version of Guy, in Reynolds' other movie Free Guy.
Gotta say, as much as y'all appreciate Ryan's passion for playing Deadpool, that's exactly how Channing has felt about Gambit for pretty much his whole life, and even though Deadpool & Wolverine takes every opportunity to joke about how his dream never came true, it also made his dream come true. He may be played for laughs because this version of the character has never left the Void and gotten a chance to be a hero, but this was Ryan Reynolds reaching out to Channing Tatum like 'Hey, my superhero passion project survived development hell, and my dream came true...let's use this opportunity to make yours come true, even if it's only for one glorious moment.' That's why it was so important to go all in on getting the costume dead accurate, and the full blown Cajun accent. If this ends up being his only chance to play this character that he feels so strongly about, then it had to be the real deal Gambit. He had to be recognizable the moment he walked into the room, and he had to be true to Remy's Cajun roots. And he was. All jokes aside, that's Gambit up there on the screen. For the first time. Taylor Kitsch's 'Gambit' may not have been the out and out travesty that the same movie's 'Deadpool' was, but he looks and sounds nothing like Gambit.
Sorry to say this but if a male guest acted the way Kristen acted here with the sexual references towards a female character we'd be getting complaints of disgusting sexist behaviour. And it's not the first time she's done this either.

For years, they tried to get a Gambit movie made with Channing Tatum to star in it, which is part of what makes his appearance here so much fun. His accent is pretty spot on as I have some friends from the most southern portions of Louisiana and he sounds just like them. Many with cajun accents are fast speakers with clipped vowels and incorporate French coupled with a bit of southern accents all mixed in.
It wasn’t JT that did the dance at the beginning. It was a dancer they hired to put on the suit to do it. I think he was spotted in a TikTok and Disney got him.
The Channing Tatum game I hate is wild. After all that guy went through trying to get to play the character and it never working out, he’s the only person on this planet that deserved the play the character in this movie
If I remember correctly Channing Tatum's mother is Cajun and taught him the language, so I'd say he nailed the accent. Achara wanted the Animated series accent, and his swagger, he was definitely a little easier to understand and had a vibe about him. Achara and Kristen were geeking out more than I did, such great reactions. There were some actors that didn't want to come back, some they couldn't afford, and some that wanted to come back but couldn't, like Robert Downey Jr. because in the middle of reading his lines for this movie he signed a contract to come back as Doctor Doom, and that's why we got Happy and the Iron Man jokes. Everyone was so hyped for the Yellow costume, but I love the Brown costume in the comics, I wish they had a little more of Wolverine wearing it, but they gave us one scene for fan service so I'll take what I can get. I loved this movie, and hope they keep making Ryan play this character well into his 90s. 😉
Channing Tatum was announced at a ComicCon many years ago as being Gambit in an upcoming movie. The movie was never made, I think due to the Disney acquisition of Fox. This is a deliberate and long-standing casting of a character. Channing’s dad, I think, is Cajun from New Orleans, so he knows the accent.

You might know this, I wrote it while putting the video on pause. So you may explain it 🙃 Edit: you knew most of them. Apocalyptic Wolverine and Patch have great stories.
I think Tatum Channing did a great job as Gambit with the Cajun accent. Achara & Kristen wanted the X-Men 97 version where he has more of a French accent and the associated lines such as "Mon Cher" and "Petite".
CinePals needs to do a retraction video to correct Kristen falsely crediting Justin for the bye bye dancing at the start 😂. The actual dancer Nick Pauley deserves his props for learning it on short notice.

But this one somehow managed to audiences of all sorts…right in the feels! But for completely different reasons at times, I mean I was in the theater and close by I had people who were apparently (as I later learned) spanned from knowing basically EVERYTHING like me…to knowing absolutely NOTHING(not even joking either)
Now…while unfathomable to me that one would go into a movie that’s a part of something as massive as not just the MCU but X-men and Fantastic 4(tho that wasn’t obvious going in really😉) without knowing anything…like WTF!? How!? Why!? Idk but I’ll move on for sake of keeping this comment slightly less ridiculously long 🤦♀️
Anyways…yea, some were roughly in the middle of the prior knowledge spectrum aswell, so it was a bit of a mixed bag really.

He may be played for laughs because this version of the character has never left the Void and gotten a chance to be a hero, but this was Ryan Reynolds reaching out to Channing Tatum like 'Hey, my superhero passion project survived development hell, and my dream came true...let's use this opportunity to make yours come true, even if it's only for one glorious moment.'
That's why it was so important to go all in on getting the costume dead accurate, and the full blown Cajun accent.

Director Shawn Levy said in an interview that the one Wolverine variant they couldn’t get in the final cut was an ACTUAL Wolverine, and the joke was Wade shows up in the woods and after he goes up to it, Deadpool gets absolutely mauled. They came up with the idea late in production and there was not enough time or budget to get a realistic looking CGI wolverine to use in the scene.
Also the other variants are:
Genuinely comic accurate short king, YES Wolverine is 5’ 3” in the comics
Crucified Wolverine from Uncanny X-Men 251
Patch, which is Wolverine’s alias when he goes undercover in fancy places
“Glam Rock Logan” is Wolverine from Age Of Apocalypse
The classic John Byrne brown and tan outfit is from when Wolverine first fought The Hulk in the comics.
And finally, the dream that came true for 20 glorious seconds, The Cavillrine
Wolvie wore the yellow and blue when he first fought Hulk, in Wolvie's very first appearance.
@@JakkFrost1 yeah but I’m referring to the comic run that goes deeper into that story. The one written by Damon Lindeloff from Lost.
Thanks for the details
@@thedarkknight2221 Did Damon Lindeloff write a Wolverine vs. Hulk fight besides the "Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk" six-issue limited series, the fight where Hulk ripped Logan in half? If not, then that story was set in the Marvel Ultimate universe and not the main 616 universe.
@@JakkFrost1 Yeah, I'm thinking the movie was actually paying homage to the Wolverine vs. Hulk fight from "Incredible Hulk" #340 written by Peter David with art by Todd McFarlane. Hulk's reflection in Logan's claws in the movie is straight from that issue's cover. Logan had the brown and costume on in that issue, but he fought Grey Hulk and not Savage.
18:59 Man, Kristen is ready to give everything up for Hugh the same way that TVA agent wants to do to Deadpool! 🤣
Men are the prize, always have been.
The end was really well written. Matter and anti-matter. Logan mattered too much and he buckled under the pressure. Wade didn't matter at all and his life was empty because of it. But together, Logan had someone to lean on and Wade had someone to give him purpose. Matter and anti-matter together, saved everyone.
I’m from New Orleans, Louisiana and that is exactly how our native Cajun French talkers talk. Gambit was spot on with the native language. This dude also played as Duke from G.I. Joe but man, he nailed our occasion accent 100% deserves an award specifically because of how he nailed our Cajun accent to the core wow I mean, just wow hats off to you, my brother
Tatum version is actually accurate ...he talks like that achara u should know that lol
The person dancing in the Deadpool suit is not Justin Timberlake. It is a individual name Nick Pauley, also known as Dancepool, is the dancer who performs the "Bye Bye Bye" choreography in the movie Deadpool & Wolverine.
Fun Fact: Dafne Keen couldnt look at Channing Tatum while speaking his lines in the cave because she couldn't keep a straight face
40:45 What? Thats exactly how Gambit sounded like in the TV show in the 90’s. Thats why he sounds like that. Yet you all looke like you were born late 90’s/early 2000’s so you didn’t grow up watching the original X-Men show. Yet that’s how Gambit sounds, like the real Gambit.
Also ladies, love ya again. They didn’t hire Timberlake to do that dance, that was a legit dancer. It’s in the making of part of the movie. You can find it on UA-cam.
They are the perfect dynamic duo & this is the best Marvel movie in history ❤.
Tatum as Gambit was amazing, justice for Channing!
14:30 - I love his "loading the claws" , like he "loaded the guns" in Mission Impossible during the bathroom fight with Cruise.
Today is Hugh Jackmans birthday and the same day you watch this movie
what u guys talking about, this gambit is perfect
Channing Tatum was announced at a ComicCon many years ago as being Gambit in an upcoming movie. The movie was never made, I think due to the Disney acquisition of Fox. This is a deliberate and long-standing casting of a character. Channing’s dad, I think, is Cajun from New Orleans, so he knows the accent.
IT HAS BEGUN!!!!! I've been looking forward to this reaction!! 🙏🏽💪
13:55 All these Wolverines are different comic book versions. This is the comic book accurate short Wolverine. He’s short in the comics and then you have Patch Wolverine, Apocalyptic Wolverine, the Calverine, and hulk fights wolverine/wolverine, Wolverine crucified eeeek, classic Wolverine origins and old Logan. You might know this, I wrote it while putting the video on pause. So you may explain it 🙃
Edit: you knew most of them.
I know, Nick Pauley deserves credit for learning the dance for over 3 months.
A moment to contemplate legendary comebacks without leaving aside the good relationship between Ryan and Hugh. And with the beginning of the Fox era. Seriously, it is a worthy pride to return and remember it fondly.❤❤
Y'all are crazy, Tatum as Gambit was awesome. Much better than any version Fox ever put out.
