I'd take Viol2t for Shock. Not as consistent as Choi, but longer tenure and arguably more carry
I’d Super for shock purely for the fact he dominated on both his main role and also on the off role of tank. GOD Genji and a really good tank player!
Wym off role off tank he didn’t play any ot
@@baseebird off role of tank, as in he played some tank. We all know he was a dps main
@@baseebird ironically enough, i think it was 2020 where they versed against boston(?), 2nd point volskaya defense super got on dva for stall and choi got on ball iirc. they kept it for the final fight and they ended up winning it. i actually think super ate an ult but i might be wrong there

You didn't even mention SoOn on LA Valiant.. He was actually so good during the year they were great. Space was a great choice, but you did SoOn dirty with no shout lol
Love that you picked Choi on Shock. That man was such an incredible player
Great content, man! Keep it up
Appreciate the nod to RJH in the card. Unfortunate that he didn't manage to create the team that he helped name, but the hype behind season 1 has a lot to do with that guy. It's a shame that a lot of folks don't know about him from the Lunatic Hai days and that he wasn't just considered the best OW player in the world at the time, but the best sniper in all of esports.
from what i remember, rjh was a true underdog in seoul. if you were to look in his pov the micro plays he made were fucking insane. he was genuinely a terrifying ana player and his zen was extremely solid. the dude deserved more recognition than he got.
I think space is also a very good option for the glads!
Absolutely agreed
No i dont think he has a chance over kevster
Definitely but I think Shu is undisputed
I know shu has been an mvp contender for 2 years but the org wasn't renamed after him
I have only one disagreement, i would've put Viol2t over Choi, but other than that, my list it's exactly the same.
Edit: actually i would've chosen Fate over yaki in Florida, the fact that He managed to win the League with Shanghai and the downfall of Florida with OGE, only speaks of how fundamental he was for the team
moth robbed
As for pure GOAT status players, Saya, Xzi, Fate all over yaki
I'm fine with Vio2t, but idk about fate for Florida. The problem with comparing fate to OG was that OG was actually better than Fate when the mayhem first started but he broke down due to some mental issues. Fate was solid, but he was nowhere near the top of the team. Yaki was the best, he was outperformed by gargoyle at second, gangnamjin was a top support during that tenure. Fate was good but he really just did his job. The collapse of the mayhem had more to do from going to a solid tank to a dysfunctional one.
I bet sayaplayer's back was broken, that's why he wasn't mentioned.
Every time I watch these I’m sad to see a lack of early season 1/season 2 representation because that’s when I was most into the league. I guess it’s a good thing the talent is higher level now but still have a soft spot for the original greats.
I understand your sentiment, but there actually where a good amount of season 1 and 2 representation. We had
Striker - Boston
Jonak - NY
Choi -Shock
Twilight - Van
Profit - London
Carpe - philidephia
That's just the ones that I remember for the video. And its quit understandable, that these are there, since they had great peaks in either season 1 or 2. However, the rest simply peaked higher different stages
Glads has never been better
Same with soul
Shanghai without mention
And i makes sense, since only so many teams, can be dominant in one season. So honestly, i think the season 1 and 2 representation was very good
@@arthurnielsen4066 yeah you’re right there was a decent amount in this video. I think I was just shook from the beginning when someone that I’ve never watched play (because I haven’t seen watched the league in probably a couple of years) was considered to be better than Erster for the Atlanta Reign.
@@sleepingaides Erster wouldn't be near lol. You wouldn't know Hawk either but he's been one of the best tanks in the league since season 3, if it wasn't Pelican it'd be him imo
@@jacklee469 back in my day Hawk was a beast for the academy team along with a probably 6 year old sugarfree. The game has changed.
@@sleepingaides fair play to you for knowing them. I was skeptical when he started over Gator on Sigma in season 3, as Gator was obviously a class Sigma in the season 2 playoffs, but Hawk has imo been Atlanta's best player since his debut. I would've picked him over Pelican tbh
I agree with all of these except Toronto, I feel like the twilight addition to them caused this years "succes".
Tbh heesu has the greatest achievement tho which is actually staying on the roster
@@sigMaDoof 💀Flex support this year wasn't a very rewarding role tbh which doesnt help Twilights chances

100% agree with the danteh pick, especially him picking up tank (and winston in 5 days) so quickly for ow2
Great vid ATP!
These video ideas are amazing man
The first one aged well
Not giving GOAT Shock player to Super is an unforgivable crime unfortunately.
You could have picked so many people among the shock's all time roster and choi is such a sleeper option. I think he deserves to be marked as the best out of the entire squad.
Choi's consistency and no frills, no flairs approach is such a chad.
Choi is my choice
There is only 2 real option to begin with, choi or violet
@@jgmepgjlrmxcf2188 I mean as much as I hate to say it, Super gave the Shock a bunch of character and identity. I think people forget about him a bit too easily
@@daro2404 yes but we're talking about the best, not the greatest, so we just considere on court impact, wich clearly does not show super as the best player of the franchise history
@@jgmepgjlrmxcf2188 smurf, super, striker and moth
@@jgmepgjlrmxcf2188 you right
its still crazy to me how þe spark were a top 4 team in 2019 and no one talked about þem much
Greatest is very different from best. Greatest is legacy, achievements, succes, longevity etc. Best is just raw ability, skill and flexibility.
Your title says best so that’s what I’ll be going with.
Shock: Proper
Glads: Kevster
Hunters: Leave
Dragons: LIP
Seoul: Profit
Spitfire: Profit
Mayham: Yaki
NYXL: Yaki
Atlanta: Pelican
Outlaws: Pelican
Justice: Decay
Spark: Shy
Paris: Sp9
Charge: Choisehwan (I respect Shu as pick)
Dallas: hanbin
Toronto: Twilight
Fusion: Alarm
Yeah a “Best” isn’t that fair for other roles. I understand why greatest is more interesting for people. It’s more diverse.
People aren’t gonna like you telling the truth
In shock’s turn I immediately thought of Choihyobin, but I didn’t think you would actually pick him
I would have said moth for shock as soon as moth left shock shock felt it it moth’s playstyle and the way he played around Viol2t was vital to there success
yeah but I don't think Moth had as much impact as players like Viol2t, super, smurf sinatraa, rascal, striker, twilight and proper. His leadership and synergy with Viol2t was insane and key in 2019/2020 but I don't think he's the greatest player, although there really isn't a wrong choice
Do a video on the current best players every role (current)
For shock I'd say super simply for the fact that he's had the most longevity on the team and he's arguably had highest peak of any shock player besides sinatraa. I think you could argue he's also one of the most clutch players on the team because he's always performed at a high level when his team needed him the most(2020 when roadhog was meta, and in 2021 where he was the best player besides nero and even had to run the monkey when smurf wasn't playing well are just some examples). Not to mention he's been the team leader for them since 2020. But I do think Choi is just up there with him, and I'd understand why considering super shared time with smurf.
I feel like Happy should have gotten a shoutout for Charge
Someone is definitely a player that should be in the conversation for Florida Mayhem.
actually a pretty valid list, im pleasantly surprised
Watching Danteh playing as a Tank is kinda weird but thats amazing
How about Next is the Best Match of every Team i think that would be very interesting But also Time consuming
I have 2 disagreements. Violet is a nut case just like a lot of other shock players but he was so dominant in 2020 and 2019. Also alarm is just the goat, carpe for me has been just solid for awhile and alarm is just the best, absolutely love the guy, rip.

I know the Fuel core has been a team of superstars for the last 2 years, but the fact that Fielder's name wasn't so much as mentioned is criminal lol. Arguably the best flex support to ever do it. But Hanbin is equally as deserving (:
I would have put in Custa for LA. They pulled him, then had to put him back in to start winning again. He was a great leader, even if people felt he didn’t play well. I loved every game of the Custa/Kariv duo.
Imagine if carpe Diem was in the sane video lol
i disagree with boston
ofc striker is the most iconic to those in 2018, but i feel like most people remember him as “the shock guy”. i think punk is more of a fitting candidate, but thats just me
For Seoul
#1 Profit
#2 Tobi
#3 Fleta
Profit to me is just the goat of overwatch
Tobi is a sleeper number 2 being the longest player on Seoul and apparently the players really wanted him to be headcoach so that's why he became their coach and then going into this season everyone was doubting his coaching ability
Fleta Seoul was only winning so many games season 1 because of fletas carry
Ryujehong?
@@janspirit901 I have him at 4
At 3 up until tobis recent success as headcoach. I think overall though for overwatch in general I'd put him above fleta and maybe above tobi
Every time I see an old Boston clip I’m reminded how long we’ve been irrelevant😂
Excluding pre-OWL is exactly to exclude Miro from being the best in everyone of this video
You should rank every player that has ever played in the league
Poor Hawk never gets the recognition he deserves
not having fleta on shanghai is a crime
Not a question for a video, but where do you get the player statistics that you always have for the best players? Wanted to look at those statistics but I can't find them
he does these videos off of mostly opinion so i doubt he has stats for them
atp the goat
I agree with most of this except for saying sparkles genji was the clear cut best
2:10 did the monkey bubble just fall through the map???
This is a greatness list not a “best” list. There is a clear difference. Anyways great list.
When will new owl teams skins be available ?
I feel like fissure deserves the selection for the glads just barely over shu
Lip over void is criminal imo. I would take violet for the hyper carry, but I love Choi.
Now rank these guys 1-20
Rip alarm ):
not having smurf on this list should be a crime that is punishable by death
The sayaplayer snub on florida I can't take sorry respect the opinion however, they had a top 3 dps in the league in sayaplayer. He was disgusting also most final hits in a series on widow.
5 seconds in, knowing ATP Kai is going to be it for both Atlanta and Valiant
kappa
@@patrickgallagher6961 yup wrong both times
If your doing another underrated overrated video I would like to talk about Cr0ng since I was a massive fan of him over the past few years. He was a key contributor to the charge’s success but this year he looks like a different player I hope he finds a team next season.
I think Corey is another good one for justice, I think Corey had a worse team around him and if he had slightly better players they would have gone further in 2019
He was also a carry for team USA in 2019
I'm going to put this before watching haha, let' see if we're akin :
Reign : Pelican
Uprising : Striker
Hunters : Leave
Fuel : Hanbin
Mayhem : Yaki

Dragons : Fleta
Defiant : Twilight
Titans : Haksal

Great list. Space is the only debatable one on glads.
I'm a bit disappointed in you for saying that Dante is better than Jake. He is definitely second, but Jake is better.
Jakerat and led the Outlaws as Brig during Goats.

I miss 2018 LA Valiant :(
Xepher robbed, twice
Imo Viol2t was and is the best player on shock but other than that i agree for the most part
for seoul can i give an argument for fits because ever since he has joined the have been relevant / semi relevant
He’s never been the guy tho and he’s having his weakest season since s2
I think someone on Florida mythem is the top he is one of the best tanks and is in the top 10 for damage and elim
i also would disagree with decay i think corey was it he was 1 of the best mcree players in the league he was on par with carpe Mcree imo n back then mcrae was played almost every match so at the rind it was game changing
I watched NYXL bc of pine but ye jjonak was a good pick
I like the Video idea but I dislike how the line blurs between Player's peak DURING the time on the team or their CAREER peak.
Spoilers:
Hou: I mean you have Pelican for Atlanta so it only makes sense to have him on Houston as well.
Glads: Maybe Kev or Birdring but cant blame you for choosing Shu
Paris: Id still give it to Hanbin because of peak now but I get sparkle
Fusion: Carpe hasnt won anything which should somewhat speak against him considering some arguments you made earlier. So Fury it is probably
That's fair enough, this kind of topic can be tough to explain. Everyone is going to have their own thought process on what constitutes as "the best of all time". I decided to go with what players have done for a specific team because that's what made the most sense to me as I was creating the video. For you, it seems more like you think along the lines of who is the most skilled/accomplished in general. And while I respect that, I find it unfair to give Pelican the title of Houston's best for example because his real accomplishments came on Atlanta. It's a very deep water to dive into so I can understand the difference in opinion though. Appreciate you going about this respectfully and for the spoiler warning as well.
@@ATPOverwatch "What players have done for a specific team" is a great explanation and makes a lot of sense considering your choices!
That makes Danteh make more "sense" to me, same with Shu and Carpe. (Not that that matters a lot lmao). Paris is still hard imo because I believe Hanbin was criminally underrated on that team- Sparkle was just crazy flashy.
The only thing that changes for me with that reasoning might be giving it to Super or viol2t for the shock, althought you did say in the video you could have given it to many.
@@ATPOverwatch I think you should be more clear about if you mean best or greatest. The difference between those is massive and it’s messing a lot of people up.
Bumper-stan
As a Houston and Dragons stan, Danteh for Houston, Fleta or Lip for Dragons hard to say. But that's just me.
fleta easily tho
Too bad jjonak doesnt play in nyxl anymore.
(I am still crying)
Ameng is the greatest player in Chengdu history and its not even close
Sinatra the goat
dreamkazper the real hero
The goat of Paris is clearly Hanbin imo
why not fate for valiant
where is pine bro
kevster did more than shu
Corey best justice player!!!
LA Gladiators i think that Kevster is the best and SFS Choi is god but Viol2t.. Profit best dps of owl history
how many mvps does profit have? LOL figured fleta owns profit
my greatest player on vancouver is bumper c: (yes i am a hardcore bumper fan girl, how could you tell?)
The problem with Bumper is if you put him on a team with bad support players, he is not a good pro player. Twilight is the only reason he was ever able to play as good as he did.
I have to say i pick hotba over heesu
It's sayaplayer for Florida
And imo, it's not close
Finally a sensible mayhem pick.
12 dps 4 tank 4 supp
Overwatch big in China? No racism.
Most pog atlanta owl player is dafran EZ.

Saying sp9rkle is the goat for Paris eternal I can understand, but saying that he was unquestionably
, unquestionably the best genji t the time is so wrong. If that was so then how was EQO matching and beating him in the summer showdown. It doesn’t matter that Paris won, EQO had sp9rkle beat that match. His play on Rialto is the best genji play for a reason
As a Philly fan Imma hard disagree here. You give a single play, a very epic one, as reasoning for EQO to be better than Sparkle on the genji. Throughout the entire season, Sparkle has the better statistics to back him up.
@@daro2404 forget about statistics they don’t prove it. It’s the value they get with it. Everyone says that Paris was the best at that genji comp in 2020 and that sp9rkle is destroying the competition. There was no competition. He’s getting huge flashy plays against the likes of Vancouver and Washington, and that one play against shock that everyone remembers. Name one big play sp9rkle made against fusion, I can’t. EQO on the other hand he gets value without that blade, because his mechanics are just as good if not better than sp9rkle. Many times in that finals did EQO get the upper hand against sp9rkle. Rialto was a good example of that. And let’s not talk about the countdown cup. Yeah EQO didn’t play in it, being replaced by ivy, but when Philly faced Paris in the semis, could sp9rkle do anything to them, no. Alarm single handedly forced him to switch off his best hero. If sp9rkle is ‘unquestionably’ the best genji at that time, then he wouldn’t have gotten diffed so hard by the Philly support line that he would switch off the hero that he is ‘the best’ in the world at. If you still disagree with me, at least accept that EQO was the best western genji, and it’s not even close by that degree
@@whitey1605 well I'd rather base my position off of stats than by "who made the bigger plays"

Disagree on Dallas. While sure, hanbin has been an absolute razor for us these past couple years, but people forget how amazing doha was the year before our revamp. He was the sole reason we even had a fighting chance at points in S3. Plus, he was absolutely amazing in S4 and even in S5. Easily my pick for best Dallas player.
