I STRONGLY disagree with you saying it’s not important to change console jump. It is really important to change it off of default because you can’t aim and jump at the same time. It is very helpful and would highly recommend!
Yes you can, you just need to remap your controller. Or pick up a controller that has paddles on that back. If your thumbs never leave the thumbstick you're golden

This video is insanely well made. The concise verbalization of techs that most lucio mains would have to learn through trial and error or countless hours of playing the hero makes this the perfect fast track to wallriding literacy. This is The Bible of wallriding.
I started mainly playing lucio about three or so years ago and never could find a good wallriding guide that said anything more than “just double click on a wall lol” all this time later and I’ve sunk some 400 hours into the hero and only now does someone actually verbalize all the techs I’ve just been trying to learn by feel. Thank you Eskay ❤
as someone with only 6 hours on lucio, i didn’t even know you could jump off walls 😭 now i know why my wallrides get messed up whenever i attempt them, i just tap once, and i have the wall jump on release setting off
jamie allegro has a bunch of really good videos but they're old af and was basically lost to time it was like years and years ahead of any UA-cam guide when it released though and honestly speaking, besides a few outdated tips (now you can chain on the same wall, and ride backwards) it's still a damn good channel for wall riding 😊
Great video, even as a GM Lucio I learned a few things. One thing you missed though is looking downward to avoid hitting your head. If you’re trying to make it through a doorway while in the air, you have to look downwards to avoid hitting your head and losing speed.
@@Eskay_OW I don't understand why you don't need to reset your wallride with distance at the 10 minute mark of this video. seems to contradict what was previously said? Seems like you are just bouncing off same surface repeatedly on the top of the map.
@@lucasm9172 probably because the game doesnt consider that wall as a flat wall, if it was considered that it was a flat wall by the game, then she wouldnt be able to continue jumping on the wall
Thank God I played so much Tony Hawk's Pro Skater as a kid. I just think to myself: ollie off the ledge, ride the wall, clear the gap, grind, and land clean. Lucio feels so much easier to understand when I look at it this way.
I can now do 1 ticks and late skims thanks to the knowledge you imparted. Wall jump on release has been annihilated. Also, I play on console, and for anyone else who does, I HIGHLY recommend cranking your sensitivity WAY up. As the video explains, the direction you face while hopping off a wall massively changes how you move. Ergo, high sensitivity allows you to face where you want to move and control exactly how you move. My sensitivity is 90 percent horizontal and 75 percent vertical, I have 2.5k games played and a 59 percent winrate.
I had 150 hours on lucio, decided to watch this video because it’s an eskay video and she’s awesome, and learnt four mechanics. holy, eskay is so good.
thank you for including the part about wall jumó on release- i noticed my wall riding got a lot worse a few months ago but try as hard as i could i could i fix it. - checked my settings, sure enough it’s turned on?? i guess i turned it on to try it and forgot to turn it off. changed the setting, everything feels back to normal!! 👏🏾👏🏾 😭😭😭 thank you so much
I only just started maining Lucio but this is really helpful. You have also convinced me to take my "release to wall jump" training wheels off (my thumb hurts now from spamming space). Thank you eskay!
Same. I only had like 20 hours on Lucio in OW1, but Lucio just feels like a good move in OW2. I can't even explain it. Maybe it's the lack of peel and stuns?
I had just rewatched your original wallriding guide on Temple of Anubis a few days ago, but man the jump in quality is insane. Nice job making this guide organized and comprehensive, learned a lot of new things.
I've always struggled with wall riding and trying to find out how the enemy lucio manages to do vertical jumps... and now I know. Thanks to you, I now know why I can't attack to back walls without looking. I'm not a lucio main but now I'm more confident in making plays with him. Thanks!
As a long time Xbox Lucio main just switching to PC I was so confused why wall riding felt wrong. Thanks for reminding about the backwards wall riding and the jump off of wall settings!
this is probably the most uselful video ever made for learning lucio, 1 tip for people learning though, definitely use scroll wheel as a secondary jump button but if you find scrolling down (towards you) hard try switching it, you might find it easier, i find it easier to scroll up (away from me) i might have up and down the wrong way round but you get the idea
I cant believe my I went so long without knowing how to one tick, so many of my issues solved! Thanks for the tutorial, it should be mandatory for all Lucio's.
As a DPS player who flexes lucio has always been fun to play. I figured out looking up on my own and the backwards wallride setting on my own but I was dying alot at first.
