    Note the water radiator flaps indicator sticking out of the wings just forward of the flaps indicators markings, it will show the water radiator setting. Fully extended showing "Zu" marking - means closed; almost flush with the wing, only showing "Auf" - means open.
    As always, great informative video.

    Excellent, just concise info without filler or blurb to detract from showing what you need to know. Thank you.

      Darth Vader yeah it's a great plane. It's so fun beating down Yaks when you start turning with them in the E7

      The Air Combat Tutorial Library Yes it is :-) Although I have the most fun against PE-2’s xD

    You did not mention that the prop pitch by start is 12o `Clock. Its that writtenin front of you "Start Uhrstellung 12oo"

    Hi. What is the Emergency/combat/max continuous for e-7 in this game?

    The habit of showing the 109 taxying with the canopy open is wrong. 109 pilots were warned not to taxy with it open as the weight of the head armour would crack the hinges or break the retaining cable. If they wanted ventilation, they were told to slide the side window open. When you see pilots these days flying the Buchon or modern rebuilt 109s, they have the hodo open but they have no head armolur fitted........same with the 190; pilots were warned to start the engine with the canopy closed,to prevent engine fumes being drawn into the cockpit from the side exhaust louvres. Pilot could open the 190 canopy part of the way for taxying,thereafter, as long as they had propellor slipstream to clear the fumes.

      Yeah I know, I was made aware of that a while ago. A bit late to fix the 109s I already covered, but I did correct my technique for the 109s I did after being told about that mistake at least.

    Will you be covering the MIG 3 at some stage?? Finding that a very difficult aircraft to takeoff and land in...

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  8 років тому +2

      I will be. I know how difficult it can be to handle so I'd like to get a video finished on that over my break. I've just been very busy between moving and starting training at my airline.

    What's the purpose of taking over manual control pof prop pitch when on landing approach?

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  6 місяців тому

      It's just a technique so you can keep it in auto if you like, but it would help if you had to go around or adjust power for whatever reason since the pitch is already set and doesn't need to change when power does.

    Hi thanks for the video ! but i would like know about ME 109 E7 radiators positions in combat !

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 років тому +2

      I'm not sure exactly where the flush position is for the E7. You could find out though by placing it in autolevel then once you have a constant airspeed start adjusting the radiator and seeing where you end up with the best speed. In combat though it will likely end up as a compromise of the settings between the best cooling and best airspeed you get.

    Hello i'm just starting my adventure with 109. What model is better for the beginner? E7 or F2? What are the main diferences? Tkank You

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  5 років тому +1

      I'm not a true 109 expert, but I much prefer the E-7 over the F-2 because of its improved turning capability which can compete very nicely with the Soviet aircraft...but in both 109s you need to be careful with your engine management. I'd suggest flying both and seeing which you prefer by how you perform against identical airplanes

    Not that it really matters much in IL2, but you don't open cowl flaps/radiators to land. I've yet to fly an aircraft that calls for anything other than what is set in cruise to land with.

    So in the game notes it mentions oil temperature ranges for intake and output but there is only one gauge...is the oil temperature gauge for output?
    If so, is there a secondary gauge somewhere I am missing?

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  6 років тому

      That gauge you think is one will actually read both in RL, but it requires the pressing of a button on it to switch readings. We don't have the ability to press the button in IL-2.

    • @acdcdave1387
      @acdcdave1387 6 років тому

      The Air Combat Tutorial Library I know what you mean for the F2, F4 and G2 gauge with the dual purpose but in the E7 it appears to have the same temp gauges as the Stuka. I think I finally figured it out though, I tested last night with a 30min combat mode run in each the Stuka and E7 with oil radiators fully closed and the temp never went past 106 degrees. Turning on technochat shows no mention of overheating so it must be output temp as intake would be 20 or 25 degrees too much and would yield some kind of overheating message on screen.

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  6 років тому

      Oh yeah of course. Just worry about the gauges you can see then since if the engine is operating normally then anything else should remain in normal ranges.
