Insufficient air flows through but the same amount of fuel is injected, resulting in insufficient power or engine fire". Over 6000 rpm you can move the throttles as fast as you want. I already see one mistake on this model, the airspeed indicator had two needles a white and yellow needle. White was Indicated and Yellow was True airspeed at 400 km/h and above the needles would stay together. I have I5 4460 with Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb, 16 gb ram and motherboard is ddr3, run nice but some tines in the stalingrad map or in Kuban have some problems with the fps. Thank you!!!!
I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right but on some of my quick matches I can't seem to get it off The runway before either crash into a hill strategically placed at the end of a runway or some trees I almost need three times the runway they start me on.
Yeah it's really difficult to get this off the smaller fields. You'll either need to use the paved runways on the Rheinland map or take less fuel to reduce your takeoff weight.
There isn't that much to it to be successful. The main advantage is that with your speed you can appear quickly and kill someone if they don't check their six often enough, so stay fast. If you drop below 300 km/hr it takes a while to accelerate again. I haven't been able to fly this airplane in a regular MP server yet but I've flown it a bit in Berloga. It's essentially untouchable if you fly disciplined and don't get sucked into a prolonged fight. If someone knows you're around, just leave and move on somewhere else. The cannons wreck all they touch so all it takes is that half a second on target and they'll go down.
@@RequiemsACTL love those 4 30 mm beasts. I play a free mobile flight sim as well called fighter wing 2. The jet's speed has to be constantly controlled if I dive then I cant move the jet at all and it veers upward. I feel IL is a bit more realistic. Still fun though.
Hi! What about marks on the front window? I searched any information but found nothing. Personally I think, it's the sight for horizontal bombing. But I can mistaken & still didn't know how to use it.
I know this is an old video but hoping I can get a reply! I'm starting a 262 mission where I'm already lined up on the airfield so no need to taxi, just straight into takeoff. I put brakes on and increase rpm to 7000 but then as soon as I release the brakes, the aircraft pulls hard to the left. I try right brakes to stop this but it just doesn't have any effect unless I just hold it down hard in which case I just stop turning but no longer moving. Any idea whats going wrong?
Roll the plane forward a few feet first before applying full power because your nosewheel is likely offset.to the side. That will help straighten it first. There is also a nosewheel brake control you may not have assigned that can help initially
Nice, thanks, I did not know the update was ready. I logged out and now he is updating. Btw, the meter tucked away on the right above the breakers is a Volt meter, not an Ampmeter. I am new to flight sims, that Me 262 is a hand full. 10 crashes at start later......I think I need to wait until I have more experience. I do not get enough speed before the end of the runway. Edit: I manage to get it in the air. I found an airport that was still a bit short but ended in a "ramp" and then the terrain went down. That was just enough. Where did you fly it ? Are most runways to short or do I do it wrong. I have often problems recognizing the runway in most cases, so I first try to start using "at runway" and drive of in the direction it spawned but I think I do that wrong. By now I get most prop planes in the air the first try.

what graphic settings do you use ? it looks so sharp but you see also really easy little dots. You dont use blurred landscape? HDR? would be nice to know. In youtube it looks like you have everything on ultra and everything turned on but you also see the smallest dots :o
How do I use 262 to fight other fighters ? I found it rather hard .turn a bit it stalls...do a barrel it stalls... And when spitfire has superior altitude it's so hard to catch up due to poor climb rate (speed drops terribly fast)
For some reason, I am unable to use emergency mode on the engines. It appears there is an RPM limiter (which is visible in autopilot); however, I cannot find the keybinding for it. Do you know what key bind it is set to?
The Air Combat Tutorial Library I don’t have throttle assist turned on. The RPM limited only turns off when autopilot is enabled. I managed to get emergency power to work on takeoff, so I think it must be altitude dependent.
Please help me, I am playing campaign with this beauty, but the speeds are horrible, in level flight with max power i can do 500 km, but that's it if i try climb little bit goes down all the propelor aircraft is on my ass all the time, wasn't this plane able to fly 700 km/h level flight??? Thanks for your video!!!
Just stay high and stay fast. If you get slow and allow an airplane behind you (especially at low altitude) then it's going to be hard for you to get away without being shot at. Ideally you will make attacks with the altitude advantage, blast them, and use all your extra airspeed to climb back up. You can turn a bit, but avoid bleeding off all your airspeed and getting slow.

for some reason when i try to fly this, the rpm never gets up to 3k and my brakes no matter where i map them dont work. is this plane bugged for me? wtf
Not sure why that is. There are a few different assignments for brakes so make sure you the ones assigned for toe brakes left and right, along with the nosewheel brake.
Reduce throttle slowly and just hold level flight once you get down to lower altitudes. It will start slowing, but you need to plan to descend far away from the field or else you'll need to do some form of a descending spiral.
In testing there were various things we gave feedback on the developers took into account and to me the jet handles very nicely but still has the engine quirks (but granted I fly a much different jet in RL). I think they've done a good job with it overall honestly. The type of engine start is a nice compromise, ground handling is good, the engine is a little finicky as you expect, compressor stalls are present, and Mach tuck is present.
Try hitting the "E" key on your keyboard. Turn on the late model fuel regulating valve in the weapons setting menu to prevent mishandling the throttles. After running through real life jet engine start up procedures, it is a real joy to hit a button and let the ghost in the machine flawlessly perform the procedure for you. However, when we finally have solid hand-tracking capabilities in the sim, I will probably start performing the manual procedures myself. Next up will be a VR trip to the O-club for a drink after the mission.
At least the 262 in IL-2 Stormovik GB seems easier to start up and fly plus less prone to setting the engines on fire during the authentic (takes forever) warming up period in IL-2 Stormovik 1946. They do have more variants in that game including the 50mm. FlaK gun armed bomber assassin.

Love your videos! Thank you for teaching how to fly!
It's my absolute pleasure Artur! :-)
the sexiest jet fighter ever built
hi thanks again for the video, i have problem first mission i have bomb load and i cant never get enough speed to take off and I end up in the grass at the end of the runway destroying the gear. Any advice for taking off with full load?m thx i get speed 230 at the end of the runway and still i cant lift....
Reduced fuel loads and a standing takeoff helps. With the bodenplatte map out now though it should be less of an issue
Thank you Requiem!! One question, what kind of pc do you have?? I want to update my pc and I don't know yet which one can be good to run IL2 BOS. I have I5 4460 with Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb, 16 gb ram and motherboard is ddr3, run nice but some tines in the stalingrad map or in Kuban have some problems with the fps. Thank you!!!!
You're welcome Keko. My PC is an i7700K with 16gb RAM and a RTX 2070. It runs Il-2 at a high FPS all the time
I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right but on some of my quick matches I can't seem to get it off The runway before either crash into a hill strategically placed at the end of a runway or some trees I almost need three times the runway they start me on.
Yeah it's really difficult to get this off the smaller fields. You'll either need to use the paved runways on the Rheinland map or take less fuel to reduce your takeoff weight.
Once again, great video !! But what length shoud be the minimum length of the runway to take off ?
Around 1100m is sufficient with full fuel load
The Air Combat Tutorial Library Thks. Can you just indicate an airfield where I can have train with suffficient length ?
@@zobbyirre8743 I've added a mission you can download in the video description :-)
The Air Combat Tutorial Library ok thks again !
What about combat tactics? Obviously it cant turn like a prop.
Still fun though.
well jobe...Finally we got a plane that can shoot down a pe2 (Tail gunner mode off)
Yeah those 4x30mm cannons will give any airplane a bad day! LOL
How do you start on the combat box server????????? When you do all this the engine will NOT light
Awsome.. but looks like a handfull at low speed.
Yeah it starts getting a little sluggish so really try to avoid going below 300-350km/hr as it can be slow to get going
Hi! What about marks on the front window? I searched any information but found nothing. Personally I think, it's the sight for horizontal bombing. But I can mistaken & still didn't know how to use it.
Not sure, I'd have to see if I can find any info on it
I know this is an old video but hoping I can get a reply!
@@RequiemsACTL Thanks for your quick reply! I'll bear those two things in mind next time I start up, cheers.
I'll upload my mission to practice the 262 with when I get home.
@@RequiemsACTL thank you very much. I learn a lot from you tutorials. I like for most how you make them so "real", it feels like I am learning to be a real life pilot.
@@pa4tim I was a flight instructor in real life before flying for the airline I do now, so I try to approach teaching in these videos like how I would with any real life student :-)
@@RequiemsACTL That way seems to work very well for me. I am now watching the landing/take off video and that helps a lot. Now I know why I sometimes, just after take off, crash. The hardest thing on many maps for me, is to find the runway for landing and when I start parket/engine off, where to find the runway to take off because it often is all snow or grass.
Here we go again!
wait nose wheel brake? Is this the first aircraft in IL-2 to get one?
Yeah it's the first plane with a dedicated nosewheel brake
This channel is cool do you do tutorials on dcs too?
I've got a few DCS modules and thought about it making videos but I'm not sure if there is a demand for me to make DCS content.
No one else has responded to your comment, so perhaps not, but I would welcome it, because even though there seem to be quite a few that attempt to do tutorials on DCS aircraft, none, I think, are done as well as yours@@RequiemsACTL
@@stephendecatur189 Maybe I should make one and see what people think. I wouldn't do one on the Spit IX, K-4, or D-9 though...they would essentially be identical to my Il-2 videos apart from the cold start really. Maybe a jet or something could be interesting.
As soon as I get engine 1 to 1k rpm and hold igniter switch, she starts up but I get immediate engine damage and fire as it spools towards 2k rpm even before getting on the throttle
Use the inner RPM scale, its smaller grey lettering towards the center of then gauge
@@RequiemsACTL Got it sorted, my throttle was reading high when set to full back. Had to do the center it, un plug USB cable for HOTAS, then plug it back in and go through range of motions to re-calibrate it.
Now it works through full range of motion I have no issues with engine start fires.
Excellent!
Will you do a more in depth cem video for the 262? And/or combat technic?
Yeah I'm going to make some other 262 stuff. I just got home from Florida last night.
@@RequiemsACTLNo excuses, get on with it! Joking, You're the best!
what graphic settings do you use ? it looks so sharp but you see also really easy little dots. You dont use blurred landscape? HDR? would be nice to know. In youtube it looks like you have everything on ultra and everything turned on but you also see the smallest dots :o
I use ultra with custom settings so I have blurred landscape with sharpen, no HDR or SSAO.
@@RequiemsACTL thanks mate i try it out :)
Bloodt great mate , thanks .
Excellent tank you ....yesssss
How do I use 262 to fight other fighters ? I found it rather hard .turn a bit it stalls...do a barrel it stalls... And when spitfire has superior altitude it's so hard to catch up due to poor climb rate (speed drops terribly fast)
Fly in straight lines, don't turn, stay fast. I've never been able to fly a 262 in MP against a human opponent as their use is so restricted.
For some reason, I am unable to use emergency mode on the engines. It appears there is an RPM limiter (which is visible in autopilot); however, I cannot find the keybinding for it. Do you know what key bind it is set to?
Check your difficulty settings. You may throttle assist or something on
The Air Combat Tutorial Library I don’t have throttle assist turned on. The RPM limited only turns off when autopilot is enabled. I managed to get emergency power to work on takeoff, so I think it must be altitude dependent.
Can you post the link to your written pilots notes in this video?
Hohoho, that's one sexy jet.
Great Vid Cheers.
Appreciate it Beerpig! :-)
How do you start this if you only have a single throttle HOTAS?
@@gkelley77 I should have mentioned that I use VR as well. Keyboard can be done, but somewhat clumsy
holy shit , is bodenplatte released?
It's still in early access. We have a few of the airplanes but no map yet.
Briliant stuff
What kind of mods do u use? This looks beautiful
No mods
@@RequiemsACTL Mine is Version 4.13 and doesnt look like this. u have SAS on it? or HSFX? Congrats on the explanation pal, thanks to you i understand finally ALL the german instruments and the reason why i have problems. Fly Safe
@@RichardBeltrame1 It may just be the gamma. Come to think of it though there was a time where I used Reshade but it was a while ago. Possible that could be it.
for some reason when i try to fly this, the rpm never gets up to 3k and my brakes no matter where i map them dont work. is this plane bugged for me? wtf
Not sure why that is. There are a few different assignments for brakes so make sure you the ones assigned for toe brakes left and right, along with the nosewheel brake.
Thanks !
Very nice
i guess emergency takeoffs werent a thing.
Maybe if you'd like an engine fire lol but I think if you use the fuel valve modification it's less of an issue.
maybe add the Rheinmetall RATO boosters?
uh what are you playing with tah tyou move the pilot's head that easy and still use all the buttons and stuff?
TrackIR, it's an extra piece of hardware
@@RequiemsACTL oh thank you for the reply, I will check it
Nice machine
how do you lose speed in the me 262?
Reduce throttle slowly and just hold level flight once you get down to lower altitudes. It will start slowing, but you need to plan to descend far away from the field or else you'll need to do some form of a descending spiral.
How you remove the gunghsight?
I think its' Right ALT+F or something. The command is called stow gunsight I think.
@@RequiemsACTL Thanks!
Why slats are always in extended position?
The 262 likes to move very fast, the slats are unhappy with the slow speeds
because of gravitation
Very good tutorial! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I know it's a bit early but how do you feel 1C/777 has done with their first jet engine plane so far?
technically its not their first if you take a look at il-2 1946
@@Ash007YT I believe that was a different developer, still published by 1C but not developed by 777 Studios
Yeah clicky pits are overrated I think for a sim, but they definitely come in useful for learning procedures
Glad it's in the game but I'm too cheap to buy it
Im too broke for this tho.
I wanted to see dead Peshkas...

That's a good document for sure. It was nice to have an english document
to work from in addition to translating the German ones when I was
making this video!
I mean, it's cool and all but, why are we getting this before the P-51??? That should have been the priority. It was certainly more significant than this aircraft that came way too late in the conflict. Whatever.... Nice video. Thanks for teaching us how to handle these!
I don't think they're basing development timelines on the significance of a plane.
What's being built next has absolutely nothing to do with significance.
Dude, it's early access, be thankful you get anything at all, if you have a problem with the aircraft release order wait for the official release.
