Byron Bay NSW Jimmy's Cafe Super Therm Insulation Thermal Coating

Byron Bay on the far North Coast of New South Wales is a beacon for holiday makers with its great lifestyle, landscapes and weather.
Summer temperatures average around 29°C and the region can experience high humidity.
Integra Partnerships reached out to NEOtech Coatings to utilise Super Therm® on a double shed they intend to develop into a cool new cafe in town.
They were very keen to apply Super Therm® to reduce retrofitting building costs and to optimise their internal space. Additionally they wanted to reduce their running costs by keeping heat out with no air conditioning.
Quickly after the first coat of Super Therm their shed went from a burning hot surface to a cool surface and Integra were impressed.
As you can see Super Therm® is within a couple of degrees of the ambient temperature and the trees nearby.
Compared with the blue roof of the building next door which was 45°, Super Therm was 15° cooler.
Super Therm has a very high total solar reflectance rating of 96.1% which means it only absorbs a tiny 3.9% of the solar heat of which 91% is emitted back out.
A very thin .25 millimetre dry thin coating and heat conduction of just 4 BTU square feet per hour makes it incredibly powerful at blocking solar thermal heat and great for CO2 reduction.
A container test on a 36°C day in La Porte, Texas by the Department of Energy report showed the Super Therm container had a 46 to 52% reduction of inside surface conduction related energy loads.
The Department of Energy US also noted, it was the third time they had the pleasure to test Super Therm and it was rare that a single product will show such repeatable results in three totally different environments, as a true testament to its ENERGY STAR rating.
As a coating developed with NASA for six years, NASA stated “Super Therm® rated excellent in absolutely no contri­bution to fire or flame. This is an unusual rating for any paint product as most will score from a low of 15 up to 88”.
