  • I met up with Will from ‪@Venture2Roam‬ and Rob from ‪@RevereOverland‬ to do some Winter camping and snow wheeling in a snowstorm in Southern Idaho. The trip did not go as planned however. My steering rack froze over on the trail, which forced us to diagnose on the trail and get creative with a solution.

Beautiful video. Great cinematography and story telling. However, your Bronco didn’t fail you. The Icon tie rods come with outer clamps, and their instructions tell you to install them. Of course your boots have to have clamps on BOTH ends. If someone else installed these for you, then they failed. I hope you get it fixed up the right way.

heres my tip,, they make this deicer spray that melts ice, i highly recommend bringing a few cans of it, it will work on those latches, locks and any other parts that are frozen, probably better then adding super hot heat to parts.

I kind of wish you had attempted the washout, just so all the melodrama would have been warranted.

I noticed you do not have mud flaps. Is there a reason?

Great video and storytelling. I see the video promoting those tie rods and end cap is still up, however. Do you still endorse them?? Was there a solution/resolution apart from never going to the cold?

Thanks so much! So the tie rods absolutely not. I don’t like them at all. And the company is not great. But 74 weld I love and would do that again in a heartbeat. They are such a great bunch of dudes and not the reason for this failure

That was soo rotten of them to leave you there while frolicking in the woods. Frozen racks are serious issues that must be dealt with tho. 🤣 Seriously, that sucks. Beautiful place to break down in tho!

Hahaha it felt like an episode of top gear! But I don’t blame them. It was a one person job anyways

@@OFFTHEGRIND just glad it was a (relatively) easy fix, once you got it figured out. That feeling you get in your stomach when that happens... Good whiskey helps. Merry Christmas man! Hope you had a good one!
