I enjoyed this free style of video, it shows things don't go to plan every time and how to over come the problem, as it's happening, I'd defiantly tune into your live streams if you ever get into that aspect of video making.
On another note, I'd be really interested in your analysis of ranged weapons (spears, bows, explosives ect), I think the weak spear is really underrated, esp from an elevated position and in caves, two spears seem to take down cannibals for me and with the v0.70 patch pausing when in your inv, easy mode activated. My big question is whats happening when crouched and throwing the spears? Is damage affected along with the distance you can throw?

I just came out of playing this for a few hours. I looked outside. I saw that it was dark and thought that I need to get my axe out to protect from cannibals. I then realised I was irl.
50:02 "Not as cool looking" 'Scuse me? That looks great! Just decorate it up a bit with some garden boxes, expand out one side with the same roof technique (cutting through the original roof for a doorway), a nice rock path, a fence around the gardens... You could really take it a lot farther, and it'd look sweet! And way better than the starter cabin, too.
I thought I was just clueless and came here looking for help. Great vid, but sadly confirms it's the build system that's just horrendous. :(

You can cover over the huge gap at the apex of roofs by using benches. You do see the legs poking down into your room a little, but it looks great from above and it solves a pet peeve of mine. It's also fun to use your roof as a place to chill as it typically has a great view. You'd be surprised at all the crap you can put on a roof.

Hey Farket do you know what causes custom roofs to send out random angled support pillars on one of the opening ends?
custom floors no longer work at all in the game, neither do custom platforms

Yoooooo! I like the videos!! Like the big builds! BUT! I was wondering if you could do a really small and compact build. Something with the survivalist in mind. Something that has all the essentials. But also build able in the first couple of days. Thank you for your time. 😁🙏😅
House boat? You can have water collectors, a bed, plenty of drying racks and log storage
I absolutely can not build a roof over my walls. Theyre all seperate walls and I have zero clue as to why the hell I cant do it. This damn game just annoys me.

I just realised you can make way more elegant staircases by shifting half your house one storey upwards (so you can just make stairs between the two halfs, no hole cutters)

How to edit the floor? I want to make a hole to place a staircase down.
Can you use custom foundations as cheap defense walls if you place one side at a time so you don’t get the platform above?

Man I miss these times. I rarely touch the forest anymore and as a result I haven’t really watched you much in the past year and a half. Can’t wait for sons of the forest though! It was originally going to come out the week of my birthday (which is may 28) however I think it was delayed

So the game is painful about stopping your movement on these custom pieces. There are no snap points except the ones used for the most worthless ropes ever put into a game. Leading to awkwardly trying to straighten out every single thing you put together.
I wouldn’t mind it too much if the game didn’t also have the worst controls ever put to a controller. Leaving me with only the button above the right trigger to turn things... only turning them to the right. Welp turned it a little too far, now it’s time to spin it 360 degrees and try again.
The Forest is so painfully unfinished, I can only hope all of the people they hired will help Endnight deliver a finished product next time. Looking at you Sons of the Forest, please don’t be in the same state.

In my world I used stairs to cover going up slopes as a makeshift roof, works well and looks fairly decent.
Noob question cuz I’m a noob but how do you just go taptaptaptap and just fill the ghosts in? I literally pick up 5 stones at a time for my fireplaces that cost stones each. Thank you!!

I feel so stupid because I never knew about the custom foundation, I was always struggling and wondering how UA-camrs were so good at it
The awful building system singlehandedly made me stop playing the forest, i widh there were mods or something similar to fix it and make it at least bearable.
Year 2024 here, the issue with the roof is not fixed 🤪
And the cutter starts to flicker after a while and can cause seasure/ migrane. You have to save and reload to fix it.
How exactly do I attach the custom floor to the rock pillar? It doesn't work out for me. And what I have to do to create custom walls? For some reason pressing C doesn't work out, nor do I have the [C] above the checkmark. Has it been patched away recently or I'm doing something wrong?
Every game I start in never able to finish my base because the game progresses too far. Any advice for avoiding this?
Im on ps4, how are you able to get all the logs you need to build all of it? It takes me so long to cut down trees and can only carry 2 in my hands.

How did you add a hole for the window? When I select the window it gives me an entire wall. Messed everything up.
i tried to copy the first part cause i knew what i would do with that area but thats impossible like i tried and tried and tried but there is just no fu ckin way to be even close

Anyone know why I can't custom build platforms onto trees? I can't seem to make custom platforms at all. I just bought this game June 2018, so I don't know if the programmers removed the custom build option, but I've watched many videos on this and everyone's Survival guides look different than mine. I have no "Storage - Custom" option on the bottom right hand corner of my guide, and pressing "C" doesn't bring up a custom build option either. Custom foundations come up and snap into place okay, but that doesn't work for a treehouse. I've researched on google and no glitches are reported with this issue, so idk what to do. )':

You are rather funny. Thank you for the videos. I wouldn't have anything cool in this game in not for you. And btw, I knew exactly what you meant by the not too low. It's forest lingo. It doesnt show the floor height when doing a foundation. Therefore "not too low, but not high enough".
Got couple questions here, in my game these walls look white, not blue why is that? and other is how u build custom wall one row at the time, without that auto wall thing? I dont know key for it and i tried to google it and couldnt find it.
How to farm for wood logs quickly with dynamite? And how many days should this take to build to prevent mutant attacks.

how do you change the blueprint colour? mine(or default) is white and it's really difficult to see when i'm aligning the structure, so is there a way to change the colour?
The roofs always look horrible. I use a custom floor as my roof.
I know Farket mentions they don't function as roofs in update 0.7, but they do now.
U are doing a great job with this videos they helped a lot, but i have to say what a shity building system this game has, was it so hard to make things snap better and have roofs without those holes on the side omg

Consider starting a career as an architect... My best friend is one in real life and even he doesn’t come up with the ideas you have in game.
Can consle upgrade custom structures? (Like putting windows on normal walls put locks on doors etc)

I love all of your videos. This may be a lot to ask but if you could make another video looking for all of the unique weapons except start from the plane. This will mainly help new players to the game and give every one a specific starting point they all know of instead of something like, “cave 1 or cave 2.” You have all my support and I hope your channel keeps growing.
