The Hammetschwand Lift is the highest outside elevator (lift) in Europe and is located in Switzerland. It connects a rock path with the lookout point Hammetschwand on the Bürgenstock plateau overlooking Lake Lucerne in Switzerland .

One of my favourite spots for a easy scenic walk. Though we usually don’t take the Felsenweg & the elavator, but the trail through the woods.

The 5 and 3, built at the beginning of the 20th century, stylishly renovated "#Oldtimers of Lake Lucerne and the Bernese Oberland lakes Lake Brienz and Lake Thun" still run regularly according to the timetable from May to October on the entire #Lake Lucerne, on the entire #Lake Brienz and the entire #Lake Thun.
Thanks to #retractable masts, chimneys and ventilation pipes, the “#UNTERWALDEN” can travel under the #Acheregg bridges on the #A2 motorway, the main road H4 and the #ZENTRALBAHN railway line Lucerne-Stans and Interlaken into the #Alpnach Bay to Alpnachstad.
On Lake Thun, the “#BLÜMLISALP” also has a #retractable mast for crossing under the #Weissenau Viaduct at the #A8-EXIT/ENTRANCE INTERLAKEN-WEST* of the #H6 INTERLAKEN RING ROAD over the shipping canal into Lake Thun.
