My husband I were in Switzerland in mid-September 2024. We visited the Stanserhorn. My husband has traveled to Luzern many times for business, but we had never heard of it until this year. It was one of our favorite days of travel. Spectacular views because of the recent snows. My husband loved riding the Cabrio cable car on the upper deck. A hidden gem in the Luzern area. We also have stayed on Burgenstock several time before the renovations. We were shocked at the modernization of the hotels (we didn't visit but have seen pictures.) $2000-4000 a night is a little steep for us. But we did some hiking in the past around Burgenstock and it is a lovely view of Luzern and surroundings.
My favorite mountaintop outside of Luzern. I have mixed emotions about you spilling the beans on what used to be a locally known secret spot 😉 but this beauty is for sharing.
Love that this is your favorite! It’s surprising to hear that’s it’s a locally known secret spot since it’s one of the top marketed places from Lucerne Tourism board! But nonetheless it’s wonderful 😊
@@AplinsintheAlps Years ago when we first visited it was mostly overlooked by the more popular Pilatus. Between the Swiss Travel Pass making it a free option, the advent and growth of social media--especially UA-cam, and Luzern tourism featuring it more this and the Stoos Ridge hike are getting more attention these past 5 years.
Ok, after we’ve gone back to Grindelwald, I’m definitely going to have to stay near Lucerne and go up this mountain (and take the lift as well!) I’ve done 2 other revolving restaurants in Switzerland - maybe I need to complete the set!
I have a feeling that we’re going to Nero adding to your list of places to visit in Switzerland 😉 But we would actually recommend a stay in Central Switzerland because there are some fantastic spots that are less touristy but worth a visit!!
Love your videos! Are there ant special events going on in Switzerland for September. Any traditions. I can’t seem to find any accommodation availability 😅. Even hostels are closed out
You can check the myswitzerland tourism website for local events! It's hard to book last minute here because most tourists book 1 year in advance. (Although if you're looking for 2025, you may not be able to book more than 1 year in advance, that could be why!)
Thank you for posting another fabulous video, it was so beautifully filmed as always and super informative. It brought back nice memories as we went to Stanserhorn in June 2023, it really is a magical place, the views are incredible and we too loved the benches facing towards lake Sarnersee and the Eiger. We decided to walk down… that was a lot longer than expected and very hard on the knees but a perfect day we’ll never forget. Can I ask please… where is your favourite place in all of Switzerland?
So glad this brought back great memories for you!! As for our favorite place - ooh, that's so hard, because it really depends on what we want to do. But we recently hiked to the Oberhornsee way back in the Jungfrau Region and that was amazing!!
@@AplinsintheAlps I asked my wife, when she shared the selfie she had with you.. I asked "does she have a baby bump?" :) :) :) YES, I am good! Congratulations!
At night, the marmots get together and sing "Father wears his Sunday best. Mother's tired, she needs a rest. The kids are playing up downstairs. Sister's sighing in her sleep. Brother's got a date to keep, he can't hang around."
Good to meet you today Brett @AplinsintheAlps at Spatz Interlaken in the warm away from the rain. We look forward to your next videos coming out to plan our next holiday to Switzerland! If you are ever back in the UK we highly recommend the Brecon Beacons of our home nation of Wales and the smallest county in England, Rutland, where my wife and I currently live and work. If you ever need a filmmaker in the UK you know where to find me 😉 @JonnyLewisFilms Thanks for the recommendation of @DjemoGraphic.
It was so nice meeting you both!! We definitely need to get to Wales at some point - so many beautiful places to see! We're glad you enjoyed Djemo Graphic. Hope to see you back in Switzerland soon!
You guys are phenomenal! So envious of your adventurous life
Thank you! It's hard work, but we love being able to share these beautiful places with travelers like you!!

We agree - thousands of $$ per night is a bit (or a whole lot!) steep for us too! But we're so glad you enjoyed your time visiting these two gems!

I think you guys know more about Switzerland than most Swiss people, including me 😅
Well that's pretty normal - we wouldn't be able to tell you too much about our hometown of Nashville, TN either :)
The restaurant at the top’s Älplermagronen was legitimately a reason I want to return to Stanserhorn
Haha it was definitely tasty! And typical Swiss too 👍

We’re so glad you had a lovely time here and particularly enjoyed the shady walk! 😊
Thank you for sharing this fantastic video. Stay connected. Warm regards from Norway.
Thanks for watching!! We post a new video every 2 weeks so we will keep the comment coming 😊

Fabulous. Wife was just there. Swiss travel pass covered this she said.
So glad she was able to visit!!

Sold! Let’s do it next time!
Deal!! I’m glad to hear you’re coming back again. With another steamship? (is that what you called your big group??)

can we do a daytrip to stanserhorn ? Interlaken will be our home base
I just looked this up - it’s a bit of a trek, nearly 3 hours each way!
He’s right, it’s 3 hours 1-way…So possible but it would be a better day trip from Lucerne!
Do you edit videos yourself or have you hired someone? I’m an editor and would love to help, if you’re interested
We edit them ourselves, but thank you!
I appreciate your quick response!
You're welcome!
