Asking you, a fan, do you think he's called a legend because he died? I feel like he got a lot more love when he did than when he was alive. Not shitting on you, asking a legit question
Steven Crocker I don't doubt that his passing increased people's awareness of him, but his timeless material keeps them coming back. More than just sex jokes, the man was a deep thinker. His true brilliance shines on Opie and Anthony
I saw this live, as one of the first comedy shows I ever went to. Had never heard of Patrice at the time, but I'll never forget that set. Absolute legend. RIP.
Brother you witnessed an absolute classic. He had been working this material but he got all the kinks worked out for this set and it was the right set for the right crowd. Great set.
Wow... Not much makes me jealous but this comment does. I wish I had came across Patrice when I was younger but alas it wasn't meant to be, I guess. Quite possibly the best comedian of our time (depending on who you talk to). One of those memories I'm sure you'll never forget.
“Look at this guy.” You can always tell when he’s on a time crunch if he says that and doesn’t go into what he was thinking! Man...even during a set he was always finding comedy. Genius!
Dear god, I see you haven’t taken up the previous offer. So we .. the people would like to sweeten the deal. Amy schumer is still on the table but in addition we are adding mindy kaling and tony hinchcliffe
Hell yeah, Ben!!! proper lad watching proper comedy. take a look at Weston4020's "Patrice on Opie & Anthony" list, it's better than any podcast today and it'd be a good companion on your travels.
+whothennow81 I was just thinking that. Like so many celebrities die and I feel some kinda way about it but I was only just getting into him, he was a world class comedian, like in my top 5 standups for the maybe the last ten years..
He wasn’t even trying. It was effortless. Beyond natural ability. There’s not many comedians who’ve made me laugh so much I’ve lost control of my body. To the point there’s tears of laughter streaming down my face, I’m wheezing and my face hurts. I wish I could’ve seen him perform live.
Ben Smith I don't understand your point or where you're coming from, but I'm sure if we met in person we could get along & shake hands & you would feel the handshake going on too long & you would at some point look up and notice that it's not just my hand, but rather my entire body that is shaking, because I have Parkinson's just like Michael J. Fox, you see.
It isn't just a comedian that makes a show entertaining. The crowd also has to be on board which is also part of the comedians job. Once the crowd gets into it, the show is even better.
***** Lol I'm a jackass? God forbid someone has a different opinion than yours. I'm not saying Bill wasn't a genius but Patrice was better at making people laugh, at least from what I've seen.
The difference between chapelles success and patrices is that dave went down the whole phony hollywood comedy road and then realized how much he hated it and left, patrice knew from the beginning he didnt want any part of that, if he was willing to do that theres no doubt he would have been at the same level as dave. But when it comes down to it i guess its a matter of opinion and we could argue all day who was funnier. They were both great. Bill hicks i never found funny at all, i liked the stuff he talked about and his perspectives on things, but he never made me laugh really. In terms of just being funny and nothing else i cant think of any comic more consistantly funny than patrice.
Patrice was a true original. He called out a lot of the bullshit in the way we think and feel. I think he really was a very honest person and it's truly sad to see him gone. He had a lot to give but thankfully he left us quite a lot. RIP
Patrice is one of the legendary comedians who did not do political correctness or let others control his freedom. A true individual comedian. Only a few nowadays have that unique quality.
I've heard him say that airplane joke before. And to see him be able to modify it and eventually get them to laugh when it didn't get the laugh right away... He was a true master. Kept his composure and crushed it.
I came to hear bout Patrice by accident about a year ago and he’s now my favourite comedian of all time. How did I not hear bout him when he was alive. I’m British but surely I should have heard of him over some of the utter crap American comedians we’ve been subject to
Dec.7th: Happy birthday Comedian-TV / Radio Show host Patrice O'Neal (1969-2011) Thank you and God bless. RIP Legend. Thanks for the upload, Phoenix Risen. Blessings
He was the original "too soon", shoot his whole career was "too soon" before everyone copied it. He was the anti PC genius that talked about things we all thought of at one point in our lives but didnt have the balls to say it.
We are witnessing pure genius...because to make these scenarios into jokes. Are really creative. RIP to Patrice , he was a head of his time, because these jokes are timeless💯🙏🏾
you can tell he got better over the years because he does the plane bit even better years later. It's just awesome to see greats gradually get better in their craft.
I think this was the late 90s, there was only around 40 episodes max of comedy store and it was on every night so I have seen this and his other couple of bits they showed I think from this same set so many times, Patrice was brilliant.
This video clip is just over 6 minutes long. I think it is the only youtube clip that has had me laughing in tears. Damn why did he have to go. Such pure funny raw talent. Genius.
No one seems to have mentioned it but this crowd is great.
+Lint cuz they never seen a comedian like patrice before.
+Lint its england. not so pc
+Lint English crowds are usually more open to taboo subjects.
+Louie Oakwood No. This was in England where Patrice lived for awhile. They know him very well. The comedy store crowd are generally great.
+Christopher Cooke the sun never sets on the british empire, because the sun doesn't trust the british in the dark
One of the best comedians of our generations period. RIP
the worst part is what could have been with patrice.
maximus1318able exactly 😔

Sucks that he went to hell. Not because he was a bad person, just because he couldn’t fit through the gates to heaven.
R.I.P. Return If Possible
Rehearsing in Paradise
Hermunkle *BIG FACTS!!!*
If he returned he would be dropping pieces of flesh all over your living room while trying to eat your kids brains.
Unwanted Opinion your opinion is unwanted here
Jesus Christ with a Jheri Curl - ouch you a big bully clinging to a fictional savior. Good for you genius.
I saw this live, as one of the first comedy shows I ever went to. Had never heard of Patrice at the time, but I'll never forget that set. Absolute legend. RIP.
@Maizeak yeah, in Liverpool. Not sure if it was this exact perform, but it was this set. The bit about the bus stand killed me!
I lived around the corner from him when he passed away, we would talk about comedy and eating healthy
definition of a natural comedian
Romulus
Try Freddy Soto. Also dead, unfortunately.
Definitely solidified the title natural
When I introduce Patrice to people, I use this video as a quick sample
I love when I meet new people and they have not experienced Patrice, I get to watch thier face light up and I love how it makes everything good.👍
Nicholas Joost this video or the news woman who doesn't know ... FUNNY !!
You should use the video with "Watchu doing, watching baseball??"
You should show them his reaction to the up-down game.
exactly my thoughts!
Not a lot of comedians have what Patrice had. He tells the uncomfortable truth.
Heyyy
All truths seem to be uncomfortable to some people.
the elephant in the room?
Real over money is all !
I spit out my soda when he said,"the 10 meter stumble."
Hahahahahaga
“Look at this guy.” You can always tell when he’s on a time crunch if he says that and doesn’t go into what he was thinking! Man...even during a set he was always finding comedy. Genius!
relentless and ruthless. love it.
"How long does it take to move a face of the tracks, half an hour?" LOL
"i aint got that shit"😆😆😆
Hard to believe he could pack that much comedy in 6 and a half minutes. One of the greatest, no doubt. RIP
Good to see that the audience in London appreciated Patrice's comedy. The man was an artist.
That was hysterical, he had such brilliant delivery and timing.
yeah its effortless
Try watching Elepgant in the Room one of his best stand up I guarantee it
12 years later. Patrice still stands at the top. And relevant to today
I binged for a week on his videos when I first discovered him, and then I found out he died. I bawled like a baby. 😭
He would ask you to ball like a baby.
Man up, if Patrice was alive he would rip you to shreds
@@suddenlypsychotic8866 and I'd love every minute of it. Lol
God bless you . Patrice was from my hood he was the coolest dude.
Dear God, please give us back Patrice O'Neal and we'll give you Amy Schumer. Thank You in Advance. Amen
Why would God take that trade?
Maybe slay a goat?
Dear god, I see you haven’t taken up the previous offer. So we .. the people would like to sweeten the deal. Amy schumer is still on the table but in addition we are adding mindy kaling and tony hinchcliffe
they were friends
@@333capo like god enjoys people dying lol
the bible would make a whole lot more sense tho
Diplamatik Juan god doesn’t want Amy Schumer
I love finding Patrice O'Neal clips that are old but new to me! God, he left us too soon...

A Don of comedy.
Thats a nice surprise
Excellent to see you here, Baldy. Patrice was such a legend
This is one of the funniest bits I've ever seen. Patrice was one of the greatest comedians of all time.
I'm so sad Patrice is still not with us. Fuck..
+whothennow81 still not with us? like hes coming back?
+whothennow81
I'm not going to lie, I have gotten emotional in college listening to his shit and remembering I will never see him live!
+awsometomable same its a shame
+whothennow81 I was just thinking that. Like so many celebrities die and I feel some kinda way about it but I was only just getting into him, he was a world class comedian, like in my top 5 standups for the maybe the last ten years..
It still makes my 👀 water. But then he makes me laugh EVERYTIME.
one of the best crowds feeling him I've seen in videos of the G.O.A.T and they're English.
Realness is universal, rest in peace Treecie
elephant in the room is his masterpiece.
Hilarious.
Indeed. In my book is the best comedy show ever. I watched it numerous times and I still cry with laughter.
His Mr P special is just as amazing and its a more personable standup with the crowd too. When he rips on tolu in the crowd holy shit lol
Agreed. It’s his magnum opus
@@negativeindustrial what are you talking about? Delirious and raw are Eddie Murphy stand up
Such a great comedian. Speaks about real shit and makes you laugh.
When you see Patrice in full swing, you just wish the set went on for an hour!
He just owns everything he does.
"Yea they're important but I aint got that shit." Lol
The delivery of "8 inches" is one of the best deliveries in comedy ever!
ten meter stumble hahahahahahahahaha
best by a mile
RIP beautiful
Best by a mile hahahah i see what you did there.
woooh 8inches!

the 10 meter stumble. hahahah!
that Michael J Fox bit had me rolling
Had me shaking
Rup Tratin that's why you are not a comedian. ... too tedious of a link mate. .. keep commenting though and good job
Ben Smith

This is my favorite comedian hands down
ua-cam.com/video/ez165KcPU24/v-deo.html
love louis ck, bill hicks, dave chappelle, eddie murphy, but they've got nothing on patrice. greatest of all time.
***** Patrice was definitely funnier than hicks, maybe not as insightful but you would laugh out loud more watching Patrice's stand up than Hicks'.
***** Lol I'm a jackass? God forbid someone has a different opinion than yours. I'm not saying Bill wasn't a genius but Patrice was better at making people laugh, at least from what I've seen.
Greater than chappelle? Hell no
Yes greater than chapelle

he wasn't afraid of hell...
Jesus wasn't afraid of death either
My favorite comedian of all time
I like a lot of comedians, from the classics to a lot of really talented newer guys. Patrice stands out, because he did not give a FUCK at all.
Miss Patrice it’s 2023 and I still listen to him.
How have I not seen this before 🤦♂️ Patrice is on a different level
We lost him just as he was on the point of becoming one of the greatest ,ever.
Matthew Carey I’d say he’s already up there
patrice is STILL top 5 all-time, what is wrong with you, dead at 2011
he already knew he was
This has to be the tightest 6 minutes ever. Nonstop interesting premises and solid punches 😤😤 the GOAT
The special Olympics part had me dead
Patrice was a true original. He called out a lot of the bullshit in the way we think and feel. I think he really was a very honest person and it's truly sad to see him gone. He had a lot to give but thankfully he left us quite a lot. RIP
Rest in Peace Patrice - You were one of the best -brutally honest and left us way to soon!!
"The 10-meter stumble" ..... holy fuck that was great
