As Joan mentioned in the intro, this was part a film. That film was also called "Light Of Day", and it was released in 1987. Joan co-starred with Michael J. Fox. They played brother and sister. In the lead up to the movie's release, this song--the soundtrack version--got extensive airplay on radio stations and MTV (rememeber when MTV played videos?). So, it was played A LOT on the radio.......in 1987!
I guess the only thing that could have made this any better would have been if Michael J. Fox showed up unknown with Guitar in hand and played and sang with them!!

Bruce saw the title and before he even read the script he wrote a song using that title. The director was hoping Bruce would write a song for the movie and he did- as a thank you for the title.
